favorite studio is Shaft, mostly just because I really like Akiyuki Shinbou and his style of direction, which is present on almost all of Shaft's works. Monogatari, Kubikiri Cycle, 3-gatsu, Madoka, ef, SZS are all amazing.
but isn't Kokoro Connect from Silver Link.? though Shin Oonuma is the director

SHAFT was great but now they've lost all their originality. They're become a parody of themselves. And all they do is milk the monogatari cash cow.
It's a shame really, shows like SZS, SoreMachi, Madoka, and Arakawa Under the Bridge will always be fondly remembered.

I get you. They do take advantage of monogatari and always will but even the others are pretty enjoyable imo. It just a thing of taste. Im pretty flexible with the stuff i like haha.

My favourite studio is Madhouse because they've made so many good anime or adapted great source material. No other studio comes close.

Other people would like studios having their own style or whatever but that doesn't matter to me.

Madhouse used to make one banger after the other but now all their good staff has left. They haven't put out anything worth watching since that Cute Girls on Antarctica show from back in 2018.

Don't get me wrong, I love monogatari to death, but at this point it's pretty much the only thing they do and the visuals in the more recent monogatari installments feel like soulless ripoffs of the Bakemonogatari visuals.

I'm still mad they didn't do the Kakushigoto adaptation. Shaft would've been PERFECT for the job. They even made a PV for Kakushigoto back in 2016. ZETSUBOUSHITA

Mine would be whitefox because of the shows like steins;gate, re:zero, goblin slayer and the efforts they usually put in their shows especially the treatment they are giving to rezero s2. Other than that, I also like A-1 pictures, ufotable, kyoani.

A-1 Pictures - because of most counts of finished animes and also studio with most counts of 9 and 10 rating in my anime list but biggest reason is great made Sword Art Online (great animation you can see mostly in alicization series or in OS) and Nanatsu no Taizai (when NnT changed studio quality has been degraded from 10/9 to 3 stars at least for me)
Wit Studio - well mostly because they made 2 of my top 3 favourite animes: Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and Shingeki no Kyojin. One of them in addition has been made original by studio without previous source (manga/LN).

-Madhouse is/was unparalled in variation of good series for a long time. I don't really find similarities between one show and the others, so it surprised me a lot of times when I liked an anime only to found out it was another anime by Madhouse.
-Gainax is/was my favorite if studio's identity and styles matter.

Go on it's page, it says Silver Link, I don't know where you got Shaft from lol. Maybe Shaft staff worked on it or something?

Shin Oonuma used to be a Shaft director, working on shows like PaniPoni and ef (which are pretty good), but moved to Silver Link. on 2009~2010. Some of his shows still feel very Shaft sometimes (remeber that about Rakudai and Nakanohito, it's been a while since I last saw Kokoro Connect), but not a lot of the same staff still works with him

If you think Gainax has any identity left I recommend you read this recent interview with Hideaki Anno.
He talks about the scummy practices and straight up criminal behaviour going on within Gainax. It's a very eye-opening article.
Also look at the page for Gainax and sort by recent; you'll see that the last good show they made was PSG (2010). Right after this all the good staff fucked off to Shaft, Khara, and Trigger. Gainax as you know and love it has been dead for 10 years.

My favourite of all time would be hard however if we're talking about who I'd go to to make an anime series the best currently, I'd probably say David Production the animation and sound design on Jojo's are amazing and with fire force the best part is the animation and it looks beautiful. So basically all their big recent works they have done an amazing job on.

But I will say they have only gotten to this amazing level more recently so are probably not the overall best studio of all time just my personal favourite at the moment.

Kyoani for extremely well produced and well crafted shows. They have also produced some of my favorite shows like k-on! and hibike! euphonium and favorite movies like liz to aoi tori. Also kyoani girls are the best especially reina and ritsu.

I believe it’s the most successful series this century (BD wise). I’ve heard they’re in a bad place rn, so obviously they’re gonna stick with what is pretty much guaranteed to make money. Hopefully they’ll be able to generate enough revenue from the next installment to work on different projects.

I guess Bones. Among all of the studios out there, it is probably the first or second best in animating. Not really fussy when it comes to studios, all I want are fair animations.

Satelight my favorite studio because they made a lot of my favorite anime. They also don't tend to take themselves seriously with their original work, and you can see them having fun in the anime they make. Their anime tend to be hit-and-miss, but their original anime leave a lasting impression on me. The music they use in their anime is top-class as well, and the majority of the anime songs on my playlist come from their studio.

@EightSeven Yes, Bakemonogatari is the #1 best selling TV anime of the last 20 years, and Madoka is the #2. It takes some serious financial mismanagement to create the two best selling anime of a generation and still have money issues.

Also SHAFT. No competition there. Lots of great shows, great adaptions, great original and their anime just doesnt feel like it could have been from any other studio.

I also like Sunrise, Wit, Mappa and bones. Gainax is long dead, Trigger had one good show and nothing else, Madhouse became kinda irrelevant after the amazing A Place Further Than The Universe.

My favorite studio?
I guess I'm hesitating between Doga Kobo and Trigger.
On the one side, New Game, Gabriel Dropout. On the other, Little Witch Academia and Brand New Animal.
I would say for their faithful adaptation of fun source materials for Doga Kobo, especially catering toward the CGDCT market, and for the ability to make lighthearted originals for Trigger.

Mine favourite is MADHOUSE.They don't have their unique style but produce great shows. Most of mine highly rated shows are from Madhouse. It's a shame they aren't as strong as they used to be but I found their new works to be pretty decent. Most of the staff left to form MAPPA and it was a huge loss.I hope Madhouse becomes the powerhouse it used to be.

My fav studio is J.C.Staff. I know quite a lot of people don't like this studio because it ruined animes like One Punch Man S2 and Toaru Majutsu no Index S3. But for me I'm just really grateful because they animated Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, one of my fav animes. The animation is really my cup of tea.

Overall it's Madhouse. Pre 2011 Madhouse to be precise. I just love how some of their adaptations are so epic without flashy artstyle or character design (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, Monster, Hajime no Ippo, One Outs, Nana, Trigun, ParaKiss).

MAPPA is the close second, mostly because I always saw it as baby Madhouse.

I also like Production IG. Their sports anime adaptions just hit different (Ballroom e Youkoso, Haikyuu, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteru, DiaAce and even Kuroko no Basket).

Every time I watch an anime from Kyoto Animation I feel like they just "get" me. And I know it is a very deliberate choice for the studio to try to connect to the viewers on a personal level with every anime they make. And with every show they make they try to push their boundaries.

^This.
The animation isn't that bad, people should appreciate that the studio tried to improve their animation for it, cuz you know their level at animating.

Kinema citrus: right now I think this studio is one of the best at stunning visuals after kyoani and great animation. Made in abyss is a perfect example of what they are capable of. I haven't heard of them ruining a source material which goes to show they have a really good track record

WIT studio: I mainly like them because of AOT and their incredible adaptation of vinland saga. If there is a studio I can trust with adapting a manga like berserk then it would be wit.

MAPPA because they have been cranking out projects like crazy these past few years but all of them are consistently great quality and everything I've watched by them I've loved so they're just my fav, and I love their character designs and the way they adapt stories

David Production because once again I've loved every single anime I've seen from them, and because you can tell they put so much love and care into how they adapt beloved properties like Jojo, even making new anime original scenes that enhance the story or that are just ridiculous fun like turning the part 5 torture dance from a 4 panel joke into a minute long music video lmao, I also love how they've done similar things with the extras for Cells at Work & Fire Force too

TRIGGER because they just make stuff that's FUN, like it doesn't have to be some deep story they can just recycle the same plot 20 times with new characters and cool action animation and wacky cartoony movements and facial expressions and I will love it every time lol, their shows are just fun and entertaining, and also I love how interactive they are with their fanbase, I follow them on Twitch & Discord and it's such a nice wholesome community where everyone really seems so passionate about the stuff they're making ♥

There’s quite a few that I really like, Sunrise for giving us Gintama, Madhouse that’s behind two of my favorite adaptations in Monster and Hajime no Ippo, and probably Wit Studio for their SNK and Vinland Saga work

Wit studio:
Shingeki no Kyoujin - 9/10
Mahou Tsukai no Yome - 9/10
Vinland Saga - 8/10
Koutetsujou no kabaneri - 7/10

I haven't seen that many anime from this studio, but the ones I have seen are brilliant.

Satelight studio:
I have seen over 30 series and again the majority are above average.

KyoAni definitely. every anime they've done the last decade(literally all) were all super well done regardless whether you find the story good or not. they are easily the only studio that constantly produces high quality shows, and some of them could easily rival other studio's movie in terms of quality.
