Just because we've heard more people talking about Dragon Ball and Naruto in the West, they might not be as big as we think they are. Though I do think that Pokemon is a very popular franchise, so it might be one of the most popular "worldwide". (Google Trends isn't necessarily the most accurate source of information but Japan takes the first spot for interest in anime, while the United States is 42nd. Not sure if I actually contributed much to this topic, but what I'm trying to say is just because you hear the name of an anime often, it probably is less popular worldwide.) |

| It won't stray away from Pokémon, DB and Naruto if we're talking about franchises as a whole. The first two have been around for a little longer so they're likely a bit more popular, but Pokémon is more famous for their games rather than the anime. Besides from that, Dragon Ball has multiple animes, so if we're talking about a single anime I'd say either DBZ or classic Naruto. |
