It's called forgiveness and people can change.
It doesn't matter if they kill, torture, rape someone as long as they change for the greater good.
You need Jesus in your life.

That line of thinking is what allowed joker to kill so many people.

In Gosick novel version of the ending,

That would probably piss you off seriously OP.

Personally, I don't mind, I don't feel the need for a fictional story to punish evildoers. Twisted morals like in B.A.D. are even welcome.

Yeah, People need to apply the "69 Law" on all anime which is you get what you give.

Ahh, karma, ay? When it's done right, I really like that, I think :)

I hate when the villain gets punished, especially if its a show I love, because that usually means the show is coming to an end.

There's a limit to forgiveness.

I've got a huge obsession with justice being served. I want to see people be lynched, humiliated, imprisoned, defeated gloriously in battle and beat up two ways from Sunday.
+1

Like the douche mc in WA2 not getting humiliated/beat-up/whatever. Score lowered to a 5 because of it.

YES and many times it is because the main lead.

that's why i don't like puny MC, the generic "seigi no mikata" male lead who say "killing the other is bad, you will be as bad as him if you do that", or stop a fight and say "i can't kill you", leave the the antag to roam free

compare to how anti-hero works? they kill and show the real "justice"

It depends on the character. Some villains deserve to be punished, while others are so cool that i end up rooting for them instead.
