| With everything we'd been told up to this point, the identity was obvious. A champion who no one remembers? A toy who was wiping the floor with people even with a tin body and one-leg? They weren't going to have King Riku's son be someone we hadn't even seen traces of at this point. The writing for this arc is doing a disgusting disservice to both Usopp and Rebecca. This episode was just a complete slap to the face for both of their characters. Of all the chances for Usopp to finally step up and go with his gut, his first thought is to run and abandon the little people. The moment the lighter was thrown was a perfect opportunity for him to also snipe out the air. But I guess plot dictated Leo needed to be freed from the stick and talk to Usopp, ad Trebol and Sugar wouldn't have left if Usopp had prevented the explosion. One the side of Rebecca, the writing can't decide whether she's supposed to be compable or not. She's been making some stupid blunders for how well they've taked her up thus far, but this episode was a tota piss-take coompared to those. Finally gets the courage to start going on the offense......and we find out the sword she's been deflecting with is competely blunt. She then allows herself to get pinned and doesn't try to even shift out of the way of the club strike. How are we ever supposed to take her seriously if she messes up so easily? |

| Rebecca age is wild. But I guess Animie going to Animie. I should have guessed that the solider was the gladiator. Especially since everyone forgot him. Hopefully Usopp can man up and take out the toy girl and everything can move forward. |
