| He backstabbed Karna - who supposedly had no K&K equipped at the time - and got brought to a state of near-death by a dying Karna who turned around with a huge gaping hole in his chest and fired off a VS with nothing but his willpower. He's not that strong. And he shouldn't reasonably be able to beat Karna in an actual direct confrontation. Buutt, the Servants Cu Alter fights in his interlude might be just simulations which I believe just possess a fragment of the power the Servants they are based on possess so it probably isn't as terrible as it sounds |
| Yeah and even when he beat back Scathach, it wasn't really him being stronger, but Cu catching her by surprise with using a NP that he wouldn't normally be able to use without the help of the grail. So yeah, the servants he does fight in his interlude can't be the true ones. Especially considering that Cu Alter is in weakened state with being poisoned by both Semi and Robin for the majority of the fights. |

| Yeah, the battle sprite is some variation of the giant ghost sprite. We actually see his normal non-battle sprite in-story tho. Ah, that said the name had a question mark by it. I haven't actually read the interlude yet, so maybe it's just some ghoul/wraith that appeared in the form of him. |

At least it kinda lowers the bullshit levels of him beating Karna while being poisoned and having to deal with Medb at the same time, since Karna is such a massive mana hog that he might end up killing his Master just by using his Prana Burst for too long The interlude is still awful though. Not really the biggest fan of Cu Alter in general. |

| J. Alter is and will continue to be useful for a long time. Even in the latest JP challenge quest, she was one of the best options because of the sheer amount of damage she can deal to single targets. Veterans will understandably find themselves using her less and less because at this point they have so many options on the class triangle and support like Skadi that puts Melt, Jack, MHXA and others above J. Alter's level thanks to class advantage, but this is happening now; 3 years into the life of the game. The meta shifted slightly away from her niche by introducing waves w/ break bars, but she's still one of the best ways to mindlessly curbstomp bosses if you have trouble making a suitable team for whatever reason. Also, despite the introduction of Foreigners, J. Alter is still the big dog when it comes to storming Zerker bosses. Abby and MHXX don't even come close. TL;DR I think J. Alter is worth it now and then. She's fine as it is. |
