excellent episode :D

i do have some issues with the ending though :O

so 1st world Yuno kisses 2nd World Yuki one last time before she stabs herself :(

what i don't understand is who was the one that distorted the third world's future and change everything?? could it be Minene as a back up plan or Yukki?

the outcome was very different from the previous two worlds.

it can't be Yukki since he was inside of that big sphere.

why didn't First World Yuno got erased? she was just stab, but she was never erased in the first place.

or even 1st world Mururu. i mean if the game ends at third world, surely both of them would be erased as losers?

what about 2nd World Minene?

she became wife of NIshijima, so there's still hunting down third world minene?

she still lost her arm though :(

and why are the babies floating? XD

so Kurusu's child was saved huh? :P

finally 3rd and 12th face was shown!! im surprised 12th wasn't voiced by Hei from Darker than Black series, 12th really sounds like Hei though!

finally Marco and Ai having a child!!

that brat Houjou Reisuke is at least good now

6th is soo cute!! and lol 8th and 11th got married XD

10th, Hinata, Mao, Akise, Ouji are all doing well!!!

so no Yuki this time? does Akise love for Yuki no more XD

finally the 3rd Mururu appears! Deus having second thoughts of choosing a God?

why not become God himself and leave things the way they are? :P

so 3rd world Yuno and her family are happy! what about Yukki :(

so Yuki finally chose that Moe Wakaba megane girl :P

she tried to rape him in his dreams XD

so the first world Murur became a cellphone strap? and is that first world Yuno's phone?!?! it wasn't destroyed despite her stabbing herself.

i really don't like how the 2nd world Yuki became God, and wow 10,00 years? he couldn't even face reality during his school days how the hell did he survive without killing himself in the end?

you don't even have to build a new world. why not just visit the third world and have fun there(don't even need to meet third world Yuno or yourself)

just doesn't make any sense :(

and finally at the end of the text, Yuno appears out of nowhere to rescue you.

i actually don't mind the alternate world, i just wish they just stick to two world instead of three.

it get's a little convoluted if you include 3 worlds at once.

i haven't read the manga, and heard there was an extra 11 pages towards the end so i'll see to it if the Yuno that rescues him is from the previous world or a completely new Yuno.

i actually like the series, especially Yuno as a character and definitely Za Queen of Yandere!!

she's soo interesting and a sadist!, but at the same time she's soo loveable and will do anything to protect her love one!

so finally Yuki creates a 4th world after 10,000 years.

WOOOW! after rewatching the scene i just noticed Yuno was there with Yuki creating a world!!!!!!!!!!

this is 2nd Yuno since she wasn't erased in the third world despite dying, and she uses the same black robe she used to invade the third world.

Yuki's hair has revert back to short hair? huh O___O

there's even multiple Mururu!!!

let's hope Redial is not a summary, but will animate the last 11 pages with even exclusive scenes not found in the manga!

overall i would give this around an 8/10 but because Minene is soo badass and Yuno's sadist and lovable nature i would give this a 9/10

even if the ending was kinda forceful to have everyone a good life.

it's still a great show and Yandere characters should take note of Gasai Yuno!!!

The ending was a little bit disappointed... Well, I enjoyed the rest of the series so I don't mind it that much. I'll probably rewatch this soon, I just have the feeling I'll.

This show was lots of fun in a very light-hearted way, and that's okay!

I liked 9th's character development, and the irony in how she says if you're going to do something for someone, do it for someone who's still alive! and how when she helps 4th with his kid like she'd promised, she's doing it for the 2nd world 4th who is dead, but really it effects the 3rd world 4th who is living!

8/10 !

I still don't understand how 12th was able to use mind control ! Lol !

Not sure what to make of that ending. It's difficult to wrap up all that nicely, with the main characters all over the place (Yuno from the first world, Yuki from the second, all going to the third..), Deus and the third worlds Murmur noticing the intrusions etc..

I assume it's a new Deus for all worlds, too, otherwise the multiple Murmurs don't make sense, and his actions, like, not noticing Murmur switched etc.

They also never explained who Deus is answering too. Not really the focus of this series, but still, makes you wonder.

Overall nicely done.

One pretty amazing anime, I loved every part of it. Including the weird parts.
A thing I couldn't understand was the flying baby?! Did the baby receive some power from Minene that was given by Deus? Seems the only explanation.

Also it seems like Yuno is back in the end. Even MurMur says "Seems like those 2 didn't notice me." And there is the Redial OVA that I have to see.

Overall 10/10. Most certainly one of the top favorite animes of mine from now on.

Edit: As someone above said that he finished the series on July 28th. I just realized I started the series on July 28th, when their world got destroyed.

EDIT2:
If you just finished the series go ahead and watch Mirai Nikki Redial OVA, it's the ending of the ending in this episode :D

I created a (non-throwaway but still anonymous) account just to post about this anime.
We have... a love/hate relationship, this anime and I, and really struggle between calling it amazing 5/5 and terrible 0/5.

Let me start out with... I LOVED the pace of this anime! It was so thrilling and action-packed and a lot of it was not wasteful action but legitimately progressed the plot and slowly revealed plot twists. Mostly, I am totally in love with the character Yuno. My god, she is so cute. A different kind of cute from other characters. And I felt so bad for the innocent Yuno (found in the cage in her own urine eating grass but still loved her parents and believed they would come to understand) and even the 1st world Yuno, whom I realized had a legitimate excuse for being mad and crazy (unlike Sasuke Uchiha... what a...) and went through so much... seeing her lover die and... ugh... I respect her.

On the other hand, they COMPLETELY ruined the ending! I hated it! Everyone is living with the wrong person and/or unhappy and dead and the manga gets even more complicated.

In the anime, you have the 2nd world ninth living with the 3rd world Nishijima.
2nd world Yukiteru is all alone staring at a cellphone forevermore while the whole world is dead including Yuno and his parents.
And of course 3rd world Yuno and Yukiteru are happy in their induvidual lives but also sad.

Apparently in the manga, 3rd world Yuno conveniently gets her memories "back" and gets together with 2nd world Yukiteri so everything is all "knock-knock good good fairy tale ending princesses and ponies."

I have read 0 posts indicating their rage at this (granted I did not read a lot). That is NOT a real happy ending ffs! The Yuno that went through hell with Yukiteru is DEAD. Not to mention his parents, the nice eighth lady, EVERYONE. And what about Yukiteru of the third world? He is alone?

Finally, I don't even want to get into the plot-holes and fantastic leaps. Honestly, the only anime that did time-travel well was Steins Gate. That was a perfect 10/10/

This anime. I watched it for Yuno. Amazing character. Amazing development. Amazing backstory. Super cute and very unlike any other Yandere.

I have never cried during an anime at any point in my life.... I cried for the first time during this episode. This absolutely killed me and made me so sad :( :( :(.

I'm glad I got a little closure at the end of this episode and it got expanded on in the OVA so I'll be able to sleep safe and sound tonight but this series was absolutely awesome. This has quickly became one of my favorite anime of all time and I'll never forget it.

Forgive me while I go cry myself to sleep now............. :(

It has been a while since I have felt this way. When Yuno stabbed herself I fell apart inside. Time travel is one of my least favorite themes, so I didn't like the ending. The romance was amazing though, and my heart went out to most of the main characters in the series. Overall it was amazing.

PS: I realize why I disliked the time travel. Yuno went back in time and killed herself which should have resulted in her disappearance. Instead, they treated time travel as if it were involving parallel worlds. So in my mind this is an extremely tragic anime. Yuno watches her lover die in the first world, goes to a parallel world, murders many more people, Yuki becomes a murderer, Yuno falls in love with a technically different guy, Yuno's come to her senses moment is when she kills herself in Yuki's arms. To me the entire anime is a tragedy about a girl who was abused and then walked the path of insanity. Really hit home to me since I was abused too.

I liked this anime. However, not because of an impressive/mind-blowing plot. The reason I liked it was the crazyness:

1. (SIDE-)Charachters, Yuno the stalker in the bunny suite. 'Elite' toddler with simplistic assasination methods up his sleeve acting like Light Yagami. deaf vigilante with loose hips. <- very enjoyable. As for Yukki~ , I actually seem to not give a single shit about him at the end. But without him the series would lack the suspense in the beginning; freak outs etc.

2. shounen excitement; rape, classes idol favouring 'normal' protagonist,

3. INTERESTING right from the start. Well if you start this, you will most likely finish it. I mean the basic concept is interesting and rightaway shows there will be dillemas, knots to cut, conflicts will arise and the protagonist will have to force his way through it all.

4. Romance: above-average compared to series actually labelled as romance. From Yukki's perspective his love is born through experiences. without delving too deep into those specific experiences, I like the fact this anime chooses for this development instead of the usual possesiveness-motive/self-deluded-justification/conviction that an another individual is fated to be with them.

Finally got round to watching this series. I thought it was a great anime, I preferred the first half the most but I still loved every episode. I actually liked the happy ending but I was surprised that it was a happy ending. Overall, I give this anime 10/10 because I enjoyed it all the way from the first episode to the last. I would love for there to be a second season whether it be a alternate reality or whatever, I haven't read the manga so I don't know how much the anime covered.

This anime was phenomenal. A brilliant psycho-thriller that sent thrills down my spine, it was amazing. The ending was pretty decent, except how Third World Yuki and Yuno didn't really end up together. Though the 2013 OVA looks promising, same goes for that little slip at the end where Yuno comes into The Void and Yuki and her both start shaping a new world.

10/10 would watch again

Ok, I finished watching this show. Still, this was total mindfuck. Can someone explain me few things ?

Spoilers INC

1) Why Yuno became psycho ? Is this because she "accidentally" killed her parents ? Or maybe in world 1 game she was normal, but after she became god she discovered that she can't bring dead back to life ? (and so Yuki would remain dead)

2) What happened with world 2 ? At the end we can see that Murmur jumped with Yuki into world 2, but after this we see them few thousand years later in some empty universe. World 2 was destroyed ?

3) What happened with Yuno from world 3 ? She regained her memory and joined Yuki in this empty universe, but what happened with her existence in world 3 ? She was considered killed/missing or maybe she was removed from this world along with all memories of her from all people and along with all things that would prove she ever existed ?

4) What Yuno actually wanted to achieve ? She kinda "killed" Yuki in world 1, she went back and was about to kill Yuki in world 2. Then in world 3 she wanted to find Yuki and what, play the game again and kill him again at the end ? And so over and over she would became god, go back in time, be the one of two last diary owners and kill the second owner Yuki and go back in time again ? Repeat, repeat and repeat just to be with Yuki ? If the world 3 wouldn't change cus of the ppl actions, it would look like this. No one would tell Deus that this game cant take place because no one would know what will happen next. Yuno being too much psycho wouldnt tell Deus that this is wrong, she would just repeat the world over and over. But only to be with Yuki or maybe she had other purpose in doing this ?

I hope someone can explaing this to me

EDIT: NVM, someone explained this to me on other forum...still, I can't remember watching so confusing anime like this one :P

I can't believe this gets such high ratings, going through this anime was like a really bad rollercoaster, switching between very good moments to exceptionally bad written scenes and plot twists, wich all leads to an awfull and inconsistent mess. Animation, sound, OP/ED and concept were all amazing, but despite all those juicy ingredients the cook still managed to mess up the stew, really sad.

5/10 and i'm being nice because i loved the First Opening and the overall concept of a battle royale involving prediction powers.

Okay. The ending? I don't get why others are satisfied with it. well, it's not like they know why I'm not.
BUT, seriously. its like i was just on the climax and then it dropped me off. END.
So? how the hell will i be satisfied with that?

Ugh. The animation. concept. characters. GOOD! In fact, GREAT!
as i was watching, it was like you're bound to stick close to the story and all, i also didn't notice that im close to end. its nice.
demo, the Ending? NO! Chigaooooo! It was soo great until they ended it like that! nande? :( it didn't even leave any impact! and the more questions were left unanswered.

why do they even need a GOD for that particular number of world?
Okay, so the world was made, DEUS was at its end so he wanted to have someone who will replace him. YUNO won and became a GOD. THERE? SO SHE DID NOT STAY IN THE FIRST WORLD and moved to second world just to see YUKKI again. So where the hell is the 1st world?
Next, The second world was created? Because of YUNO or it was there all the time?
Last, Third world was generated because Yukki and Yuno jumped in. again? created? or already existing? either of the answer, why does Yukki still needs to stay in the 2nd world? what is he protecting? To be the DEUS in that time? nande? for what purpose?

GAHHH! i know i have a lot of questions, some may be answered but it will still give us another question again.
Seriously, bad taste. Ugh.
but, i enjoyed the series so, 7/10. :)

Dunno why people are complaining i found the series to get progressively better and the ending was thrilling and suspensful. Here's what i believed happened: Yuno became god in world 1 skipped back in time which created a world 2 and then jumped back two years which created a world 3. This world was changed due to Yuno's interferrence and then she died making faggot Yukki god in the second world cause he belonged there. The second world was restored; However the people who died weren't and he lived for 10,000 years thinking about Yuno which makes him even more of a piece of shit than i thought him out to be. It then shows present time of Yuno and Yukki and everyone else of the third world live happily ever after. I don't see any unanswered questions. However; I want to watch the OVA as to how Yuno met up with second world Yukki. Overall I rate this a light 8.5/10. Great anime, one of my favourite actually.

I agree with you. What got on my nerves were sometimes the blatant plot holes (Yuki shoots a police officer and although he survives Yuki isn't punished?) and out of character actions (Yuki's dad takes the parachute from Yuki and escapes leaving Yuki and Yuno on a crumbling tower to die. And then his dad proceeds kill his mom. Then Yuki wants to START OVER with his dad? what.) If it weren't for Yuno, this anime would be missing a lot of the good thrill and psychological parts.

Also first opening is awesome.

With regard to the ending, it was ok. The sacrifice of everyone in the 2nd world for a better 3rd world was I guess that needed happy ending after a serious mess. The last few minutes with loose ends for the OVA ruined it though.

Hey guys,

I've just finished Mirai Nikki yesterday and I was soooo overwhelmed. I actually liked the ending.
Yukkii, the guy which was scared of her in the beginning just realised that he really loves her.
He would have given her the win, the god-position in the second world just because of his
great love to her.

The ending wasn't bad. You have seen all of the guys, you started to like during the whole
series. All of them were able to get a new chance, even if they are different person (expect of
#9). Even Yuno and Yukkii got finally a live without anger, sorrow and all of the other bad stuff
(at least it seemed like it).
But I would have loved to see just one scene, where they met each other and talked about
different stuff... in the end, both of them would have fallen in love... without any sure reason,
just because of the great love from the second world maybe or whatever.

To see Yukki in the second world all alone with his long hair etc was kinda sad, but there was
a glimps of hope, when I heard Yuno... already read that this ending isn't the real one and different
to the ending in the manga, so it's nothing like "hope" anymore.

Anyways, it's a fucking awesome Anime and I really loved to watch all of the episodes.
Im really satisfied about the ending aswell!

Greetings, Nevixx

Well, till the end he was a hopeless, pathetic wimp. There really should be a section on MAL for most hated characters because Yukiteru would be #1.
He was a loser, who the hell sits around for 10 000 years (or however long it was) and mopes about a girl who was pretty much just using him. He's a God, he could have created a new, better world but noooo. Why the hell did Deus favour him, Minene would have been perfect. But I'm also happy that Minene finally got a happy life, even though she's missing an arm and an eye...

I want to watch the special because this ending is seriously pissing me off. But I am seriously scared that it will get ruined further.

I'll be honest, I absolutely loved this crazy anime till about the 12th episode, then big holes plonked itself everywhere. It picked up again at the 18th episode and the ending just dropped its score again. The whole concept of the mirai nikki and just Yuno, made this anime what it is. I really loved all the diary holders, except Yuki. Which is disappointing because he's the lead. Every time he was cried, I felt like pulling the animators by the throat and strangling them. If Yuno can get away with killing 3 people, Minene can get away with bombing and killing nearly an entire school and Yuki can get away with shooting as many as he did (somehow Yuki's dad was going to be arrested...hmmm makes you think about the justice system in that city), then I can get away with some raged out attempted murder.

To sum it up, Mirai Nikki was really was a roller coaster which left me dissatisfied but because of its absolute thriller moments, I give it an 8/10.

I also thought the start was pretty good. Then it just drops somewhere and rarely comes back until those serious psychological scenes. If you want better closure, I recommend reading the manga version of the OVA (although 2/3 chapters translated). The OVA adaptation is terrible.

I watched the OVA and surprisingly, I liked it. I like that we could see so much of twelfth. The hammer ending was absolutely ridiculous and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off but I liked it better than this ending which left it too serious. Plus, I saw less of annoying Yuki's face during the OVA.

I see what you mean. A lot is left out in explanation though until you read the manga. Either way, it is much better than the mess they left from the show.

Wow...what a series...

Sorry if I sound like I'm gushing a little here, but this show seriously had just about everything I love; a deep story that makes you think, solid (albeit rather dysfunctional) romance, dark humor, excellent art and animation, top-notch character development...add in the great action scenes and sci-fi, supernatural, horror, and thriller themes blended masterfully together. I honestly would have to say the show has something almost anyone can appreciate...so long as you don't mind the extreme gore (that dart to the eye man...) that is.

My only gripes are the cliffhanger ending, which I'm not entirely sure is explained in the manga as I unfortunately can't get into the medium, and Brina Palencia's (in reference to the English dub obviously) spotty VO work early on in the show.

Regardless, neither of those issues even come close to being bad enough for me to bestow this series with anything less than a 10. Very, very well done show.

Finished with OVA.

Really enjoyed the anime, but the slight genre shift in the last few episodes weren't that great. After all I didn't started watching to see people with superpowers fight, but to see some psychological stuff and people outsmarting each other.
The OVA expands the end a bit which is nice, but it also leaves open many questions for me, sure they don't need an answer, but still... I would've also loved to see Yukki actually do stuff as a god, because he looked kind of cool with his black robe and long black hair.

Anyways, the story was great, the animation was great, the diary holders were great, only some side-characters were kind of weak or even unlikeable but I can live with that.

Really the only weakpoint for me (besides the battles during the last few episodes) is the unneeded fanservice, because it never adds anything to the scenes really, it could've been greatly reduced without affecting much.

Way, way too many glaring plot holes to be listed a classic. For a psychological thriller, some of the stuff in it were blatantly insulting our intelligence.

It was an interesting concept and a fun-filled ride though - if you can disconnect yourself from logic while watching it.

Wow. After all that it's finally over. Not too bad, I guess. That's about all I can say. Like most anime in the recent years it has a great start and slowly starts to drift off into another universe. (Pun intended) But, to say it wasn't an awesome ride for the most part would be an understatement. I enjoyed it, I won't lie. Overall, an 8/10. Maybe a second season?

Awww...what a depressing ending for the 2nd world Yukki and and 1st world Yuno but anyway I'm happy that their third world counterparts, friends and former foes were able to live a happy life together. In short, an excellent and happy ending.

I just finished re-watching it dubbed and it was still a really good series. The suspense was gone since I knew everything that would happen but I enjoyed it.

Pretty awesome but it was incomplete. It can't end with Yuki being depressed and pathetic. I think it mentioned another project was in the works.

I'll need to go through a therapy now. When I see the after-OVA that is(I really want to finish this once and for all = ).

1. Characters. +1. I guess there were some characters I actually liked - and more precisely - Hinata, Mao, Kousaka and Aru. Yukiteru may have developed eventually and Minene was pretty cool but that's about them.
2. Atmosphere. +1. Well, the atmosphere was good even if it was making me feel uneasy most of the time(well, it's a thriller after all).
3. OST. +1. There were some really good themes, and the 2nd ending is a favorite of mine.
4. Animation. +1. I can't say that this anime had the best animation style ever, but it wasn't that bad and the quality was pretty good.
5. Background story. +1. The background story is one of the things that actually made this anime worth it. More importantly than how good it was is that it was played very, very well.
6. Storyline. +1. This anime actually had storyline, unlike so many titles out there, and it was really consistent. It's not often that I like a storyline as much.
7. Ending. +1. One of the aspects that made this anime worth it. It was very good one, it actually made me like an anime that I hated so much.
8. Drama. +1. It was really good, I'm glad it wasn't lame in any way.
9. Overall affect. Despite the great ending and some other strong moments, I can't say I enjoyed this anime. I'm actually relieved that I'm completing this anime. It's not that I don't like thrillers/psychologicals, I just don't like this one in particular.

Overall score: 8/10. I didn't expect myself to give as high score to anime I hated so much for most of the time, but I guess that it's really a quality title in the end.

I have to say, honestly, that Yuno's unstable personality really pissed me off. I didn't think that she was as cool as you people say she was. Same goes for that pitiful weakling, Amano. Couldn't really stand him after a few episodes. If I could, I would re-design this anime and make it into something I could actually appreciate... Anyways, Kousaka and Akise were cool in my opinion. Since I'm bisexual, I didn't mind the kissing scene with Akise and Amano, but I was still angry that Amano was involved. If anything, I was beginning to support Ninth, because I began to admire her more than the main characters. Too bad Murumuru, another one I hate, killed her. I was also supporting Eleventh, but he got outsmarted by what he believed was a fake Yuno, and ended up losing the game. I would go into more detail, but I don't have for that. Lastly, my overall score for this anime is 6.5/10. I have yet to watch beyond the 26th episode or read the manga, so keep your spoilers to yourself please!

Same. I upped my score from a 8 to a 9 after the re-watch.
I thought they did a great job of dubbing Future Dairy.

At first, I did not fully understand what was going on. I gave myself a nap and some times to think and figured stuff out. It was amazing when I figured most of the stuff out! When I wanted a not-so-happy ending in an anime, I didn't get it (CLANNAD!!!). Now that I want a happy ending, I didn't get it.

The series was consistently amazing until they started introducing supernatural, out of this world powers at the end. Also, the dumb plot devices like when characters were able to defy rules, laws, and other things that seemed set in stone. But the decline was not that bad.

I know right this is what really made the last few episodes worth while, its crazy plot twist.

I really liked how the ending worked out but I kinda felt sad with the 1st world Yuki and 2nd world Yuno.

I especially liked how Yuki and Minene kinda saved the 3rd world and changed the lives of the other diary users. Goosebumps moment here! :)

Overall score: 5/10

The first few episodes I love and Akise is one of the more interesting characters I have ever seen.. But I can't stand the toxic relationship of Yuki and Yuno, especially that Yuno with her horrible personality.. T_T

She and Makoto's head of School days would make a good pair.

This show was so good at the beginning, stumbled around towards the middle, showed hint of greatness during the final stretch then falls flat on its face in the last 2 or so episodes.

Damn watching this, so many emotions but more angry than anything.
