| I thought his inner monologue at the end was awful and pretty much ruined it. Badass? what's so badass about that... Not to mention his "all people are tools" and "winning is everything" contradicts all of his actions in previous episodes. If winning is everything, why did he show no interest whatsoever in being an A class student BEFORE the teacher asked him to? if "all people are tools" why was he always helping out his classmates (Sakura, Horikita, Kudo, etc) - WAY before episode 8, which is when he was asked to reach A? And helping people without being rewarded, btw. Makes no sense. Trash writing and cheap, nonsensical "plot twist". |

| Y'know, I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. Some of the ideas were good (I liked the survival challenge at the end, but it ended up being pretty predictable). My biggest issue ended up being the characters themselves. I ended up hating almost every single one of them and I totally get that many of them are designed to be like that, epsecially since many of them have their projected side and their true side, but like I can't get into a series if all the characters end up being unbearable. I think there was 2 characters in the entire show that I liked, and that's not a good thing with an extended cast. The popular series can't all be winners for me, unfortunately. |
| Originally, I don't think there was much ambition on Ayakanouji's part; however, after discovering that someone had approached the school requesting he be expelled that kinda changed the tone. He mentioned having freedom in an earlier episode and can only assume that person is a threat to that freedom. With that and Chabashira holding the card to his expulsion unless he takes Class D to the top, he's now willing (or rather forced) to play the game, becoming hardcore based on the circumstances |
| Well that was still very illogical and idiotic. The fact that pretty much no character in this show wants to reach the top to get the future that is promised to them considerably lowers the stakes and makes the characters appear as completely immature and stupid which makes you wonder what is even the thought processs behind the way the school allows its students to enter. The reveals either were too obvious or too far-fatched (for example, deciding the green-haired guy was the actual Class B leader was incredibly risky if there's no further investigation, it could have very well been someone else). And Ayanokouji, with all the praise he is getting I thought it'd be a more interesting character than just "I've never considered anyone a friend, you're all just pawns in my games, only victory matters, I'M SO ABOVE YOU ALL PEASANTS". I mean, it could lead to something interesting but for now he feels very edgy. Not that it isn't fitting for a show that uses deep quotes to describe underwears being stolen. And of course, there are the flaws I've already talked about in previous threads. I'm not saying that this show is truly bad, I don't hate it, but it tries so hard to appear to be more than it really is, it's irritating. I give it a 5/10, I hope season 2 is better now that we know a bit more about Ayanokouji. |

Can somebody explain this? Is this a plot hole?  Is it really just that the school doesn't know because the school is portrayed to know everything somehow. Like when the teacher talked about exactly how many infraction they made during the first month... And why didn't Class C get atleast 50 points, since Ibuki didn't start the fire (apparently Ayanokouji did) they should get atleast 50 points in the worst case scenario. 100 point for getting Class A and B leader right - 50 for getting Class D leader wrong = 50 points left |
