PHENOMENAL SEASON FINALE!!!

A 2-way communication radio is not 2-way without 2 of the devices lol. Else it'll just be a one-way information relaying radio broadcast.
The successful creation of this and the villagers' present knowledge of what a speaker is eventually led Senku to retrieve a time capsule 3700 years long in the making. After all those tombstones are just figureheads, the real graves of Byakuya and the first-generation astronauts are elsewhere...

The record is meant to achieve several things, Byakuya's wish to let Senku hear Lilian's singing, Lilian's hope to inspire people even as all the music and performance arts wither away over the millennia of stagnation, and finally a singular voice to unite and motivate those that hear it. It managed to do all that but more, Senku didn't have to rely on it to unite the villagers, just as much as he was intelligent, he was also deeply charismatic. The fact that he's able to recreate many modern concepts and eventually the technology itself go hand in hand with his innate passion for Science, those alone are able to inspire and unite the villagers, but this voice took it to a whole level and set their sights to essentially brave through a war and against the Tsukasa Empire and conquer the world as the Science Kingdom. Unintentional absolute high IQ strategy.

This season ended at the most perfect point in the story, just before the Stone War arc and before the Ishigami village expanded its territory.
As I said in the first episode's forum post, I don't just want to watch Dr. Stone for the sake of watching, I want to reexperience the story that I've read from the manga and enjoy it anew. Waiting close to 6 years after the first season's release might be excessive but I really did thoroughly enjoy it. Dr Stone, after all, has one of the most awe-inspiring and optimistic stories when you consider how contrasting the bleak nature of their predicament is.

Boy do I have S2 and more to look forward to watching ahead of me!
Science rocks, GET EXCITED!

It was amazing, I cried when they finally made the record player and Senku heard his father. I found it tough to think about a father who has lost his son to the future, and the only communication possible is a record. This was one of the greatest anime episodes I've ever watched in my life.

I decided to take a look because the premise was quite interesting. And it really is, and the whole concept of solving the world with science is also cool, although they forced it a lot at various moments. The flaw is that it's a shounen, so there's a lot of shounen nonsense and low-brow humor, but nothing that compromises the work overall.

I'm just happy it's over. Absolutely garbage. Won't be here for Season 2... unsure why it's even here for season 2. It flopped.

2/10

thank god that wasn't a fighting episode.

really wholesome to see them hear voices from 3700 years ago. they could have done better being astronauts but oh well it's authors choice to make them live a stone age life.

i just really hope all of the next season isn't gonna be about fighting the mmm tazan guy. that shit is so fucking annoying to watch. also i just hope this rivalry would just be over in the next season.

They probably should be calling it "short-wave radio" or "telegraph" or something... not "cell phone" - since what made a cell phone revolutionary was distance (requiring transmission tower networks and/or satellites). Cell Phone makes this writer sound like a rock-beater like that lion guy haha. I mean, he's using the concept in his manga/anime, so... a minimal amount of research would go a long way, in my opinion.

Gotta love how Tsukasa's hatred is based on technology that makes it possible for any old granny or little girl who can aim a gun to kill him like the rock-beating savage he is. He might not be "stupid" - but his motivation is really fucking dumb. He deserves to die, imo.

Senku and the village learning about and getting to hear the record left by Byakuya Ishigami was very hype. He was right about it causing a big boost in morale, Lillian's excellent singing made that clear. I'm just glad it wasn't necessary to win the villagers trust, that had already been gained a while ago.

One of my favorite parts of a show is the section where the main character comes to learn about the new environment and situation he's placed into. A lot of cool reveals can come from it. So a show dedicated to relearning and re-revealing modern advancements was a total blast and I loved every moment of it.

I wasn't expecting Taiju and Yuzuriha to take a backseat for the majority of this season. So I'm hyped that season 2 has Senku's latest invention dedicated to pulling them back into the loop.

Tsukasa is going to be a tough opponent to face, but I think the Science Kingdom has the advancements they need to pull through. Until then, this has been a fantastic first season!
