Epi. 19 was great, but one thing bothers me..

If Shu's void gathers everything and assumes its weight, how come he can still walk and Ayase still can't? xD

Good to see the new old ehh... old new... whatever, good to see Shu back with the gang. The fact that his void is his own right arm's power is pretty awesome. The cancer is slowly going to kill him though, so he'll have to make it quick!

i just saw the preview, i guess i have to wait a little longer to see badass shu again, its gonna be a flashback episode to kurosu ouma and maybe shu's biological mother, i hope it fills in the blanks and answers some unanswered questions

after that, i suppose its just gonna be gai vs shu with shu saving inori and everyone else and him possibly dying (i hope not), if he dies i hope its an epic death

Nothing is certain yet if that applies to Ayase's paralysis, which we will have to wait and see next episode.

I really like Shu a lot. I'm gonna be so sad when he (or Inori) inevitably dies. I hope him and Inori are able to at least die together?

Also, not saying this is true for everyone, but I'd say quite a few of you who come in here EVERY SINGLE WEEK raging about this show like it somewhere deep inside. I mean, fuck, if I were you and I hated this show so much, I would have dropped it long ago.

Nice episode, much better than the last one. I kinda wish, we got to know about Segai a little more though, I mean we didn't get anything about him or his motives. If this anime can finish strong I may push it up 1 on my rating scale.

Despite how much I disliked this series, I could give this a 9/10 if it does finish strong. It could get 10/10 if it ties up all the loose ends well. If the ending is bad, 8/10 or less.

How can you dislike it so much and thinking of giving it an 8 if it has a bad ending? o_o Even if the ending is good, it doesn't reset the rest of the episodes o_o Plus I rlyyy doubt they can fill up all all the holes. But still 8 as the highest for the case of disliking the whole series and the ending? How generous are you? /o/

The animation and epic/action factor is what is carrying most of the score. I'm pretty lenient when the anime has good animation and some epic moments, and the way it begins and ends is what matters the most in my opinion... If the ending is very predictable/lame, I'll give it a 7/10. If they kill off all the characters in unexpected ways, this could be 10/10 :D.

Btw, a little out of topic, but i've always wondered WHY do Ayase uses a wheelchair in a world of people that can build robots that respond to neural -guess- commands?

I mean, what would be 2 mechanical legs for someone able to make an Endlave?

I 100% agree with you.

It's pride. I know it's illogical but Ayase does not want pity. If people saw her with robotic legs they would instantly pity her. The masses in general. Then there is the fact that if she had robotic legs then she would be just another grunt with a gun. As a pilot she can do that much more.

It could also be that the technology is too cumbersome for personal use yet. Remember, the Endlaves are piloted from special pods, Mobile Control units are Semi Trailers, not hand held, or man portable. Given time, it'll probably get lighter. Remember, computers used to fill entire rooms, with banks upon banks of Processors. Now, they fit in your hand.

To Ayase, a set of robotic leg Braces, like her void, would merely be a part of what makes her special.

He's back to the old Shu with a better resolve.

I don't dislike this episode.

Though improved imo, the damage has left it's mark in the previous 18 episodes. I can't find myself too excited about the coming episodes.

After several disappointments... I got a terrible feeling that the writers will surprise me with their bad writing again... Somehow. (realistically speaking though, I don't think they can repair half the damage they've done to the show.)

I won't complain about Shu's development as a character, as they still seem believable to a certain extent, I just really don't like the pacing and execution of the show...

As always though, the soundtrack are ecstasy to my ears.

Pretty much this... -_-

Y'know, this wouldn't be such bad anime if it weren't for how things are run in the storyboard. It seems like things are just popping out of nowhere and trying to fit into the story. One minute there's some dialogue with a few people and the next they're on some recon mission. It's as if the authors wanted to take a bit of everything and blend it into this mush of an anime. I'm convinced that this season won't pick up. If there will be a second season, I have high doubts that will be much better than the first season either.

Agreed it's a mess. But the last couple of episodes have begun to bring everything together. Still I don't know how it's going to turn out. If Guilty Crown is being considered for a second season, we'll probably get a cliffhanger ending. If this happens, I don't expect any second season or movie to be any better then the first season.

Arisa has some problems. When Gai called her in episode 17, she was really scared by what was going on. Don't forget, Inori tried to Kill her, or at least appear to. So she placed her hopes on Gai, one of the few, if only person to treat her like a person, not the Heir to Family or the President.

But now, she's seeing things that she doesn't like or know what to make of. What little she has seen of Gai, says something's wrong about him. She's surrounded by Fanatics, who call Gai, 'Master' or Lord or Sir, all terms of nobility. She wants to know the truth about Gai. Comes across as fangirlish, but she wants answers. Whether or not she's about to do a Heel Face Turn, remains to be seen. She may get a shot at redemption. I wouldn't mind if it, if she does. Alot of what was done with her character, was really poorly done.

I liked nearly everything Ayase said this episode. I liked her and Haruka together. I liked what she said when asking for the Void Genome.

Ayase: "Shu once gave me the courage and power to stand up and fight. So this time, I want to stand up on my own."

As compared to what she said in Episode 13.

Ayase: "Gai gave me legs. Legs that could run fast anywhere, any height. But I... It's no good! I can't end now! Please, Shu. Let me stand on my own."

Kind of reflects the differences between Shu and Gai, in how they lead others.

Great episode. I was right that he was getting the 3rd and final genome. Ayase's change of heart like Kallen. Zero to Lelouch ; Gai to Shu in a way. His void makes perfect sense considering his character now. The power to carry the burden of others, a true king just like when he carried the burden of being hated as a "tyrant" when clearly he was doing it for the sake of the people. Loving the current Shu. Can't wait for Gai vs Shu battle.

Arisa still needs to die, ASAP. Her character just doesn't belong anymore. She's poorly done. I still hate Souta. Haruka can look like Shu's lover. Oh mai gawd. She doesn't even look like a mother. Mad scientist guy dies happy. Wheres the 2nd genome/void user? What's he planning? Who's the final boss? Gai?Mana?2nd Void/genome user guy? Someone's arc is going to end and someone's going to get carried in the 2nd season. What about the United Nation thingy? Obviously Shu isn't going to die. Prediction : Shu will take Gai's void. Gai's void is the power to resurrect or renew yourself. Considering he was reborn I'd assume that's what it is. Gai turns good or self sacrifice in the end and Shu will survive....or something along the lines. Anyway, awesome episode. We need moar action scenes!

How you for certain Shu's not going to die eh? :P What happened in Code Geass? wink wink ^^
Hmm tbh i think it would be somefin like Shu kill that Blonde Kid, Kill Gai, stupid death for mad scientist.
And then Inori's void changes into a revival thing of some sort?
It was mentioned in like episode 8/9 that voids can change, havent seen any1's void change yet ?

yeah this show is pretty shitty despite the good art and somewhat okay concept.

For one, the music NEVER fits during the action scenes lol. It sounds like some someone made a subpar AMV with top notch software.

And how the story is executed just gives me this "meh" feeling. I can never tell what a character is thinking because they seem to have very inconsistent personalities / goals. I really don't know where anything is going anymore lol

Why would Segai want to kill that which he was seeking. I'm almost positive he wanted Shu to get the Genome back, hence why he stopped everyone else but once Shu got it he just grinned. His acts after Shu injected it and recovered the Genome were mostly just him forcing Shu to use his powers more and more, in other words, forcing him to show him more of the light.

Precisely. He's a void fanboy and affiliations count for nothing for him to get his fix. Gai couldn't provide that fix so he failed.

I think you're overthinking this. The major difference is Shu had a void genome, Gai didn't. How else can Gai give her legs to stand on her own? It has nothing to do with different types of leadership, merely the difference in power they have.

I still don't really get Shu's Void. Does it:

1) Copy another person's void and allows him to use it without risking the persons life? If not, then why do the voids he used in the fight look like they're holographic?

2) Allows him to take things that are related to voids (ie. Shota's cancer) or just any kind of disease or illness?

3) Just gives him a new arm?

Also, why does he need Ayase's Void anyway... He can pretty much already jump anywhere already once he activates his void powers. Is it really because he just wanted to touch her??? (oh baby)

So let me guess this straight once again since I did not have time to express myself properly. Shu in the following,

= to this guy:
http://myanimelist.net/character/496/Shirou_Emiya
WTF JAPAN IS GOING ON? Copying ideas, is nothing new but the cheese smells hard on that one. Emiya can do weapons but Shu does voids and that is the only difference. Furthermore the arm resembles to the circuits of Emiya’s powers.

Second I will bear all the sins of the world? Sounds like Jesus to me again. With a arm? Well I assume it has to do with that arm did such as killing and hurting it would bear it. So the human being what it does with the hand in thee end if it’s wrong should bear it with it. Clear notions are of religious connotations of Christian elements among the fuckups that are of the other elements. As proof, in the following,

is that not Inori but on a cross?

I am wondering if I was the only one Jumping Up and Dow of my chair screaming OH YEAH! YEAH! At the following in the spoiler

There notations of several degrees of fan service that is stupid.

For example the way they showed Ayase while the truck was passing is one fan service not done right.

Haruka's speech insinuates Mature/Boy love.

Shu's whole arm bearing sins can be seen as a lame message of that it's bad to fap.

The fuck upped messages are so many that Japan itself though of this anime being something of a conspiracies.

So loads and loads of fan service crap that is rather poorly done and not right at all.

lol. Touching her is nice, but no her void legs is a lot better than Shu's.

Yes, it's just stuff related to voids, that should be obvious.

Not sure or care much about Shu's own void power (writers obviously aren't very interested to write walls of texts clarifying what his power is themselves). But simply reducing it to copying voids is good enough, I guess.

i think it allows him to copy and save other peoples voids into his arm, so he can pull it out at any moment like how he materialized yahiro's void to slice the endlave or when he took out souta's and combined it with yahiro's to blow a hole in the truck, he can also take anything void related like the cancer virus, im not sure if he can take severe injuries or things like ayase's paralysis though

even if he becomes faster and stronger when he activates his void powers, he cant be anywhere near as fast as ayase's void, also ayase's void gives him the ability to fly, which allowed him to avoid the rockets with ease

(oh baby)

i think it allows him to copy and save other peoples voids into his arm, so he can pull it out at any moment like how he materialized yahiro's void to slice the endlave or when he took out souta's and combined it with yahiro's to blow a hole in the truck, he can also take anything void related like the cancer virus, im not sure if he can take severe injuries or things like ayase's paralysis though

even if he becomes faster and stronger when he activates his void powers, he cant be anywhere near as fast as ayase's void, also ayase's void gives him the ability to fly, which allowed him to avoid the rockets with ease

Hmmm ye i think his new hand can recreate the voids he used?
I still dont understand how he pulled his own void and it gave him bak his hand tho :S

He pulled it out with his left hand (it having the king's mark). As to how; well I think that he was always able to pull out his own void but was afraid to do so. Shu himself mentions that he won't run away any longer and finally reveal myself.
Now there's the question why it has that particular form. Looking at your signature it seems that his void doesn't have a certain form; it seems to adapt itself to whatever Shu wants it to. In that special case another arm comes in handy. Which brings me to its functionality. Gai mentions that Shu's void absorbs everything (we can assume that it's only applicable to void-related things; sorry, Ayase) and assumes its weight. In my opinion that means that Shu touches the people's hearts and kind of takes the weight off of them, duplicates and saves the voids in his "arm data base". That way he can always use them if needed and doesn't have to draw out the actual voids in order to don't harm the void's owner. He still needs people to "copy" their voids but in the end it's him who puts his life on the line- for the sake of everyone else.
