Fantastic story, gripping sountrack, excellent animation, left me with an immense sadness that I can do nothing about…

Also, that pool scene has to be one of the most beautiful sequences in all of film.

Phenomenal adaptation.

It has been 3 years since Fall 2022 when season 1 came out!

This movie obviously is nowhere near as big as the Demon Slayer one 🤣 I saw posts of people ALONE in the theaters.

As always, I don’t watch movies in theater. I just wait for them to come out online for free c:

7:00 Date with Makima? 👀

15:00 who is this new girl? 👀

37:00 holy shit serious who really is she? 😯

44:20 SHE KISSED HIM! 😯🙌🏻 and she bit off his tongue 💀 that’s two bad kissing experiences for Denji now. Poor dude.

46:10 Bomb Devil 😮

Okay I fucking knew it 🤣 Beam the Shark is voiced by Hanae Natsuki! Tanjiro! 🤣🙌🏻 Reze is voiced by Ueda Reina. Because I’m watching it on a camera recording, it’s a bit difficult to recognize the Seiyuu’s voices.

Reze’s body 👌🏻

1:02:00 god damn she blew the hell up outta Denji 😵

1:02:50 Aki to the rescue! 🙌🏻

1:07:00 Chainsaw Shark Man! 🤣🙌🏻

1:10:00 Aki has about 5 years left to live and just lost another 2 months 🫢

1:25:30 the guy who trained both Denji and Power at the end! 🙌🏻 voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda! That deep notorious villainous voice! 🤣 Nanamin from JJK

Aw, Reze ended up dying in the end 💀 Makima and the Angel got her easily after Denji and them went through all that fighting. She was a good girl. No more two timing for Denji 🤣 I’m sure Makima knows.

This movie was alright. Felt more like a non-canon movie than a sequel movie continuing in plot. Power pretty much didn’t have a role at all 🤣 but everyone else did.

So… season 2/next movie when? 🤣
@kennynakawaki Aki had 2 years left to live and now lost 2 more months.

Holy shit. Possibly one of the best adaptations ever.

I was on the fence when it was announced that they were switching directors because shuffling around a production team when said team was one of the best in the industry seemed like a bad idea (S1 had problems but the team overseeing it was one of the best in the industry). But now I'd like to formally hand in my apology, because somehow they assembled an even greater production team.

Everyone has already said it to death. This movie pretty much has flawless direction, art, animation and everything else. However, I was shocked that the adaptation was not only this outrageously good but experimental in a way that also kept the source material's style intact. It's an absurd level of craftmanship.

The last few arcs of Chainsaw Man Part 1 (for anime-onlies that's the first part/saga of the manga) are filled with some of my favourite moments in fiction. If they can give those arcs the same treatment as this godly adaptation then I'll reach a state of nirvana never before seen on this earth.

HOLY SHIT ABSOLUTE CINEMAAAAA 😭😭😭😭🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

I already knew that MAPPA were probably going to make an absolute banger of a movie adaptation of the Reze arc but MY GOODNESS they have exceeded my expectations! I hope the director also stays for season 2 of the anime cause if it is adapted right, it will probably be the best that chainsaw man anime only fans have seen so far. (and yes, even better than this movie just based on the source material which in my opinion and many others has the best arc in the manga so far, so I look forward to that!)

What a wonderful time it is to have eyes and be able to watch this glorious display of pure animation perfection!

Just came out of my local cinema after watching the Chainsaw Man movie and considering how much praise it was getting, I did have my expectations at a rather high level.

Those expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Reze is a beautiful girl and her chemistry with Denji made for a fun portion of the movie. However, when her real identity and intentions were revealed, the film shifted into a higher gear and the action really took off. In my opinion, Beam is the unsung hero of this movie with his devout following of Denji and how he went above and beyond to help him out, even during the midst of flighting against Reze and her ridiculously strong powers.

While Denji did show pity towards her and gave her a chance, Reze eventually met her end by Makima. It felt poetic that she died within a few metres of the cafe that she used to work at, where Denji was waiting, which did leave me with a tinge of sadness. Still, the post credit scene with Power stepping in to meet Denji made for a funny scene.

Overall, this movie was excellent. Reze and Denji hanging about was really fun, even the fanservice parts of the duo swimming naked in the swimming pool, but the action-packed latter half of the movie showcased just how talented Mappa is when they flex their muscles. I highly look forward to potential future anime projects of this series. =)

Beautiful and gory sakuga mixed with incredible sound design and an OST that punches way above its weight class, you will not be disappointed. The story reveals more about the various burning questions that you may have coming off from the first season. Really is just a 10 out of 10 movie in every regard I can't think of a single bad thing even when trying to critique it as a piece of art with every fibre of my being. The movie is so well-paced that others should be taking notes, it's runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes flew by in what felt like 20 minutes.

Thank God I was alive to see this peak. The pool scene and the background ost was 🎇mind blowing, I was easily stunned and fighting scene was peak friction. Every night when I play Jane Doe I can see Reze face in my mind . Damn I wish Denji and Reze can be together and escape from this witch. Fuck u Makima. When Denji said everyone wants chainsaw hearts no one wants Denjis heart 😭 Aki don't wants angel to die so he grabbed him and lose two months lifespan 😞 and the last clip power being power fighting with Denji in cafe for bouquet
Damn I'm going rewatch it in theater

I didn't really pay attention to trailers and hype for this but this was a lot of fun. I also felt from initial trailers from season 1 that it looked good but lacked that epic spark and visual creativity for a series this wild, going for a safer Jujustu Kaisen-esque look. I do think it looked good but a bit flawed (still feel the direction wasn't as bad as some of the reception I've heard about the director).

But man, this movie was near perfect as far as a "Chainsaw Man" experience. It was far more confident and bold, visually expressive with its action and really honing in on Fujimoto's action sequences, and was super engrossing from start to finish.

It is a basic, really simple film content-wise. But the pacing flowed well (especially the action with just using kick ass lines than drawing it out too much like a lot of other shounen fights), the direction was stellar and I enjoyed the simplicity it offered mixed with Chainsaw Man's crazy, out there elements all over the film. This film ain't a Look Back, but for a shounen movie, this was a blast to watch. Especially with the IMAX experience.

Tatsuya Yoshihara is a hell of a director who has improved a lot with time visually, but this was the first actual work that I enjoyed. And he and the staff for this went all out from all the action sequences to even the little details and comedy early on.

Edit: Also just wanted to mention that pool scene. Was incredibly well done as a whole and summarized how a solid arc in the manga transformed itself to a tragic romantic tale and one of the most engaging anime movies seen in a while.

@Confused_100 Well, MAL ratings are essentially just a dick measuring contest by fandoms atp. Furthermore, most anime watchers rate based on how much they enjoyed a show, not how good the writing is. That's how I see it. One of the reasons why the highest rated anime will never compare to the highest rated movie. Speaking strictly on writing, CSM is easily the weakest anime in the top 5 rn. Still a good movie nonetheless.

Felt a lump in my throat at "the truth is... I've never been to school, either."

Rock-solid story that's more than just guts and explosions. I wish it was a teensy bit longer. I get that Reze had ulterior motives, but it felt like we didn't get to see a lot of the relationship progressing.

That and a few characters got sidelined or distracted from the main story. Aki and Angel Devil had an interesting relationship, but I wish they tucked that away, somehow. I get that it was necessary for the overarching plot, but still...

Well-directed and insanely animated. Can't imagine how MAPPA could've done it any better.

As someone who watched season 1 of chainsaw man and enjoyed it, the reze movie blew me away. I knew a little bit of the story and the new character in Reze going in, but none of that came close to what I watched. Seeing it in Japanese as well really made me love it more, thanks to amazing voice acting from the actors, no hate to the English VA. One of the best animated movies I have seen, a story that rivals some of fiction's best written pieces, characters that are thousand times better then what hollywood comes up with and incredible sound track that was perfect. Overall Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc is one of the greatest movies this year and is one of my personal favourite movies that I’ve ever seen.

@Anime_Skaddiel I believe people still don't understand what sakuga is... Because those scenes were as animated as the rest of the movie. The animation only switched up in second half. You are talking about beautiful scenes. Btw I "don't spew bullshit", and if you don't agree that's fine.

Btw If you keep trying to adding at the beginning, end or middle of your replies nothingburgers, I will take it as you want to annoy me into being triggered to respond stupidly. And from now on, try not to get this mad around this, because I could take the story apart with how much coincidences and plot armor it has, especially for this movie. I watched it twice to know where sakuga parts are, and where the story falls apart.

@The_Spectre_01 It is a good movie, don't get me wrong. Second time around without focusing on the animation but story and action of the movie. I realised "Wow if
. This is just one example. The movie's story has a lot of problems, the second time around you watch it. So I just see something so overrated like you said by the fandom. It's not better than 2 other movies (I don't want to mention them, because I hate putting fandoms against eachother, but I believe those 2 movies are easy to deduce). Again though, it's my movie of the year and it is good.
