And Gaiden has 5 books until end, and after Gaiden novels season 2 should continue the story. So yeah... there is more than enough material for more anime here. Plus anime is directly founded by... | It's one of the rare few anime I actually gave a 10. I really hope there's a 3rd season that wraps up the remaining novel content. Though after this many years I don't expect that to ever happen. |

| Actually it should be a possible upcoming 2nd season, because the 1st season was divided in 2 parts, so the so called "2nd season" was actually a 2nd cour. |
| There won't be a season 3 because we have yet to get a season 2... 🤣🤣🤣 The last one was S1 Part2. Anyway, I hope we get a sequel for this one as well. |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

@EinTheVariance apparently its because Gate 2 is the sequel novel so it’s basically skipping the rest of Gate
| ahh I see, that's...kinda disappointing personally and I feel like it's going to bait a lot of anime only watchers. I wonder why they decided to do this over doing a proper sequel. I understand that chronologically this takes place after Gate, but given that it seems to follow a new main cast (even if some of the old cast may make appearances), isn't it more of a spin-off rather than a sequel? |

@-ShadowClaw- I'm bit confused novel has 5 vols + 5vols(side stories) this is part 1 (anime version adapted only 3 vols still 2 vols left to animate but never happened)

| @Bhanu_LAW_196K1A The Sequel Novel is called GATE: Weigh Anchor It follows the events after the first series involving the JMSDF Japenses Maritime Self Defense Force. 4 years after the events of the first book. Lelei reopens the Gate and Japan restarts trade negotiations in the region without the war so they build a maritime division with a submarine that our main leads who command it who are dif cast go to explore the southern island nations in Alnus. The Cast from the previous series do show up again and get themselves involved but they are not the main cast. As of time of writing 5 Novels have been published although the series has been on Hiatus since 2020 right around with the Covid pandemic started. (I assume they will wait till the anime comes out to publish their next book so as to promote it). |
