@VKDOOM Well, I think calling Okarun just a bitch and a doormat is extremely uncharitable. I'm not sure how different I'd expect a total nerd starved for a friend to act. Like, I'm anime-only so I can't comment on how their relationship and the whole thing with Aira will pan out for the longer term, but I think we've seen more than that already.

Episode 1, they were completely matching each other's energy. They laughed at each other, challenged each other, got fucked up, and conceded that each other was right.

And then there's where battle is concerned, where Momo is designated to more of a supporting role, just constantly keeping people's curses in check so that their transformations are more than power-ups than full-on possession, allowing Okarun to really show a side of himself that we wouldn't get otherwise.

And it's not like romantically there's much Momo threw in his face either. Yeah, there's some teasing (which is just cute imo, and the energy is also matched), and the misunderstanding with Aira is pretty aggravating. You just want to shake her and tell her to hear him out, but then in comes the convoluted plot making it REALLY difficult to argue that, because (especially when you have prior bad boyfriend experiences and you've known this boy for a few days realistically) Okarun lied about where he was, and she found him on top of another girl.

As the audience we have the privilege to know that he had the best of intentions to work out as a surprise, and we got to see the whole clown show with him and Aira before Momo showed up... but she never saw that, and people will believe their eyes first, most often. You see undeniable evidence to something, you think: well what could possibly be said from here? It's sad, and it'll be sorted out as soon as they get to talk so it could be seen as fairly cheap, but not unreasonable for a character that struggles to express her feelings.

I can get annoyed with tsunderes too, but I've really just been seeing realistic teenagers. And outside of this bump in their relationship that Aira caused, they seem like a real team the way I see it. But then again, I'm a 'femcel' too, so what the hell do I know, right?

tbh, I've been loving this show, but honestly could do without the romance. Like how did the monster stop attacking soley so Okarun could talk to Momo about their miscommunication?

Well just because he is a nerd starved for a friend doesn't mean it needs to position him as inferior to Momo in every single way. He isn't nearly as smart as her, is weaker, and also is always positioned as the one who needs to run to her and beg her to be friendly again whenever she has an issue with him (whether or not he is at fault). Won't deny that in episode 1 that their chemistry vibed pretty well but its obvious after that, the show presents Okarun to be Momo's tool. You say she is designated to a supporting role, but if anything she is controlling Okarun to be able to do anything. And despite that, he still gets his ass kicked. This guy has been used as a bike and a boat on separate occasions by Momo. When it comes to fighting, about the only thing he can do is run away for a little bit before he gets beat up again. He is completely useless in a fight. And sure, Momo isn't overpowered as a fighter but point is, she almost always figures out how to defeat her enemies. She is the strategist and she is tougher than Okarun also, who is just her tool. Again, this is clear femcel writing.

My issue with the misunderstanding here isn't that Momo or Okarun are wrong in any way. My issue is that Okarun is reduced to just having to be a simp bitch running to her for an apology and has to read her mind and figure everything out while Momo can be an insecure piece of shit bitch and just allowed to be that and not own up to any of her bullshit for judging him so harshly. It's clear getting up to this point that the only reason to write Okarun as a socially starved loser nerd is to dehumanize and emasculate him for the enjoyment of femcels. Because Momo is "hot", she gets to treat him like shit and he is the one running to her for forgiveness while she is absolved of all her shittiness. He's just her tool. Fuck it, lets remove his dick and his balls also and laugh at him! It's clear the writer has absolutely zero respect for Okarun as a character and that is why this is a femcel fantasy. Femcels hate men and think the only way a relationship would ever work is one where the man is a complete bitch and the womans servant. She is allowed to treat him like shit and he needs to get on his knees and make everything work out in those instances. This is the Momo and Okarun dynamic to a tee. I don't get how you see any of this as realistic. If this was reality, Okarun would have known by now that Momo is a fake ass controlling and abusive "friend" and stopped associating with her. Instead, we are supposed to "root for them to become a couple? Disgusting.

Aside from this being just a gag, you shouldn't forget that the target audience of shounen anime are teenagers. Most teenagers who watch anime love fanservice and would prefer characters close to their age. If this is disturbing to you as an adult then honestly you should watch something else.

They also has weird nerfs in the fight like Okarun butt naked Momo losing concentration as soon as something of Takakura Ken is mentioned. Those low pixel shots were brilliant.

Water, Nessie + underwater mantis punches made things difficult enough but three of those combined was hideous and strong. Momo is a geneius with her strategies good timings with the class aswell.
Finishing move of three of them combining was the perfect finish to an awesome and hilarious fight.

But soon realty hits like water to three of them butt naked on hallway idk how you going save your school life from their.

no one said anything about ecchi anime, the fact is theres fanservice scenes cut out of the anime that are in the manga, when they claimed the show would be "uncensored", thats just purely disengeniuos and would be just as so if it were something else like violence

@omnislack im not trying to start any drama but doesnt this point not really make any sense when you realize the animators are adults? I get that its mostly for teens but doesnt it still make it complicated when adults are the one animating these characters in situations like these?

Clearly you don’t watch anime with your eyes or you got the memory of a squirrel if you’re ignoring the fact that Okarun has zero agency in any of these fights as he’s controlled by Momo the entire time, literally to the point where he was literally her fucking boat last episode. Like I can’t help you if you’re this blind to the literal visuals here.
