That was until the girl got kidnapped and we got to see some bad-ass fights in that warehouse. Then truck-kun does his job off-screen... That was anti-climactic. And it covers the entire 1st episode in the old world, which felt pretty much dragged, only to finish it off with a small taste of what his new life will be like... I guess the next episode will show us the new world and how the MC will do beginning his new life. Tbh, I was pretty disappointed as I have also heard the community talking about the show and was really impressed by the PVs. Guess I was expecting too much for a 1st episode. Hope it will get better soon. The punch was to show him as a "shadow"/"background" character by focusing POV at Nishino (and also other things)... but yeah, this first episode was better appreciated by those who already read the source material and it could be compared with Episode 1 and 2 of Youjo Senki. I believe anime-onlies immersion will be better next episode |
| It was alright, but the pure absurdity that's going on inside MC's head is the best part of the story, and this didn't quite do it justice. I'm still hopeful for the rest of the season though. |

| so uh i remember reading a few chapters of this manga a while ago and thought it was okay not that funny for what appeared to mostly just be edgy bullshit that was played for gags but and murdering people but it's all fun and games... or something i figured maybe that would translate better in the anime not once but twice i had to go like is this the same show?... what is going on here... turns out they just did a bait and switch by adding in a chapter from a later vol of the LN??? and the comedy where was it??? am i suppose to be laughing at the kidnapping and him beating people to death? but also calling him dumb nicknames what happened to the goofy hulk like body he got from training and the overall silliness since they still kept in that early chapter setup it just seemed like it removed any humor from anime and was like no it must be serious and cool /edgy this is a nope from me insert DansGame |

| It started more or less well but that ending didn't convince me at all, it sent itself to the isekai. Uff well you have to see the following chapters |

| One of the masterpieces that I read is finally here! Episode 1 has decent animation but needs a bit of finesse since we're talking about CID's actions. Man, I can't wait for his future battle scenes! He literally died after saving a cute girl that has the potential to be his partner, lmao, RIP. Let us hope they wouldn't skip any of the beginnings of everything or it will look like another generic op isekai story. |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| Am I the only one that found this episode extremely confusing and therefore pretty mediocre? It feels like they cut out a LOT of content, especially about his reincarnation. I would've liked more details instead of being thrown right into it because right now I do not understand anything that is going on. Pretty sad tbh, I was looking forward to this :( |
| The bait&switch was actually really cool. Finally a non-pussy mc, there's just so few of them. Chuuni characters always indicate god tier entertainment. Potential season best, I love it. |

| I loved this first episode. I thought I was watching a different anime at first, only for it to lead into the MC showing up as a side character, and get revealed as a vigilante. If anyone can become an eminence in the shadow, this crazy guy sure can. Especially with magic! |

| An interesting start...a lot of isekai shows recently have been essentially skipping over the setup, but this gave a whole ep as setup. Seeing the genre tag "comedy" and some of the other comments on the thread make me feel like ep 2 is going to give people tonal whiplash, though, and I wonder how that's going to impact viewership, 'cause really if I hadn't seen that it's supposed to be a comedy, I probably would just drop it after that grim, chuuni intro. |
