| While I hope for a triple (or even a quadruple, later) transformation sequence, I doubt it'll happen, too complicated to animate. 2 girls spraying each other is good, but does it scale? |
| Cure Sunshine's Forte attack is just Macross missiles, but they're sunflowers. Also, a princely Precure isn't something I ever thought I needed. I feel personally attacked by all this. Thinking about it, I think Heartcatch Precure might be the closest to feeling like a 70s or 80s super sentai-esque magica girl anime. Magical girl shows have had super sentai-esque team-based setups for a long while, with Sailor Moon being the easiest to point to for popularizing the formula. However, there's something about Heartcatch's visuals, character designs, and conduct that feels more refined. I always enjoy shows that don't try for anything new, but instead tackles familiar stories with better polish. I really appreciate Heartcatch for taking magical girls, giving it a nostalgic spin, and presenting with such visual splendor. Lastly, Dark Precure is really cool. It reminds me of a dark fantasy antagonist pulled straight from the 90s. I don't think I'll ever get tired of her showing off her brute force. |
