I was about to say it's nice that they're finally at Akira's village and his parents are alive but seems like his father is about to turn into a zombie...while we have another group with a to do list but the evil version lmao

I believe this was one of the more slower episodes, yet still we got introduced to mc's family, which had been the main plot points for the previous 8 episodes. So no that bad

I understand wanting your parents to still be alive, but bro to assume they were still alive in of itself is less probable.. but cool if they still alive..

Akira's run-in with the man building the treehouse may turns out to be a fortuitous move later on. Akira's parents are sure tough especially the dad. That guy at the end gives off bad vibes.

Another boring episode, this anime isn't getting anywhere and the new villains seem pretty shitty.

Well whatever, this anime is finally ending and I'm glad it's ending because I'm bored watching this piece of crap, the script is pretty much garbage at this point.

So that guy's the antithesis to Akira, huh? Guess for some dumb reason they'll let those zombies attack the villagers.

Is this the equivalent of having a second death note?

They hate society but now wants to fuck up the village who are far from the very system they hated and provided them with a safe space? Ok

They finally make it to Akira's hometown, but among them is an antagonist with his own book!

Now that we have Beatrix in our group now, it means the opening has been upgraded and we have stunning visuals to go with an already awesome song and I honestly like the zombies dancing altogether at the end of it. It’s pretty neat. Anyways onto the actual episode itself, Akira and co are heading for the village, Akira’s home in other words, but first they come across an old man played by the glorious Richard Epcar and actually tick off another thing off the bucket list because Akira has never had a treehouse before and actually helps the old man built which I think is a very wholesome thing right there.

Not before he gives us a rather sad backstory about why he’s here in the first place. Poor guy lost his wife and son because of the outbreak and he’s now on his lonesome in the woods. We finally reach Akira’s village not before going around a dangerous and tedious pathway to reach it, thanks to the zombies in the tunnel which got revealed that the villagers themselves bricked up the tunnel so that they wouldn’t wreck havoc in the village.

Akira’s reunion with his folks who turn out to be alive, didn’t really go so well and his dad was giving him a bit of tough love from the sounds of it and doesn’t really have that much time left to live now that he’s got a graze on his hand.

What’s worse is that there’s a group lead by a boy who is essentially the antithesis of Akira’s group in general and ALSO have a bucket list but it’s filled with all the dark stuff that humanity could possibly do. And I have a feeling by the way the leader was smiling with his shark-like teeth that he’s going to unleash the zombies on Akira’s old home. Strangely enough, Akira seems to know that boy in particular, we’ll probably have answers in the next episode. For now great episode.

This guy is a parallel for Akira in some ways (e.g. dissatisfaction with his normal life, use of a bucket list of things he wants to do), yet he clearly juxtaposes him in others, using the perceived freedom afforded to him by the zombies to maliciously enact his "revenge" on the civilisation he thinks wronged him, along with a few like-minded peers.

But since this rural village that sheltered him from the zombies free of charge is demonstrably far removed from the cut-throat social and economic fabric of the city, his obvious plans to let the tunnel zombies rampage in it just comes across as abhorrent, rather than remotely empathetic. That said, there are many examples of outcasts in reality who have adopted similarly fallacious mentalities, so it isn't entirely unrealistic.

Now we have a character who's the opposite of Akira.
I hope Akira's dad isn't infected.
