| Wow, so Kyuubey's an alien with zero emotions and the witches are pretty much power plants that he harvests? Interesting. I'm wonder if Madoka might be the Walpurgis Night (the most power witch or whatever) that everyone's talking about. |

| Woohoo! Incubator is fucking epic! This is the first time he has actually tricked someone. Because this time he actually knew that Kyouko can't do anything and he lied to her saying that there might be a way that he himself doesn't know about. Madoka is just too naive, and so are the other witches... which is why Akemi is my favourite Mahou Shoujo =D And I was like O.o? when Walpurgis was revealed to be a powerful witch. Because I honestly thought it was some form of ritual for witches and magic. I knew Sayaka was a goner... so I thought Kyouko was a little stupid to go after her. Sayaka is dead (YAY!) But sadly she took Kyouko with her. I didn't mind Kyouko... it was Sayaka who annoyed the crap out of me. We all know eventually Madoka will become a Mahou Shoujo... And I say Incubator will be surprised because I hope Madoka's "special" power can put an end it. Incubator is so not Evil... I don't see how so many people just can't help but hate him. I mean, he's logical in his decision, he's giving them one wish that can change their life forever... which is pretty good in my honest opinion. It's only the fault of the humans themselves who don't think it through and just get amazed by such a thing. OBVIOUSLY A MIRACLE IS GONNA HAVE AN EQUIVALENT PRICE! HOW CAN YOU BE SO IGNORANT!? DO YOU NOT HAVE A BRAIN!? Is what i want to say to Madoka, wanted to say to Sayaka, didn't need to say it to Homura, and now don't need to say it to Kyouko. See even Kyouko is a smart one... but that is the problem here... she knows the bad in the world, which makes it a little easy for her to accept things like this and not overreact with some kind of depression like Sayaka did or like Madoka near enough did. Madoka and Sayaka just had too perfect of lives, making this very hard on them. But honestly though... the reaction that Sayaka had is a little TOO extreme, she just couldn't seem to accept the truth, so I say it serves her right. Homura even tried to protect their close to perfect lives, but did anyone take her help? NO! They threw it right back at her face! So, it fucking serves them right, they affected Homura so bad that she even cracked! She practically begged Madoka not to become a Mahou Shoujo! UGH!!! I didn't see this on the Winter 2011 chart, but I doubt I would have watched it if I did seeing as though the rest of the shows didn't interest me and the cover for this sure as hell doesn't. Glad I gave it a chance. Too hyped for next week. I'll miss Sayaka most of all, my favorite character and the most badass witch so far. |

| Well, +10 for KB for being badass. However, gg's translation of his entropy theory is flawed. The energy is not lost, just turned into a very non-useful state. So far with human technology and physics, it is not possible to use that energy. Anyway, finally it is starting to get interesting. Although I still hate all the characters except KB and Homura. |

I would guess the short scene before the OP in episode one was the Walpurgis night. A big bad witch will come, Homura will be in trouble, and Kyuubey will once again try to make Madoka become a Puella Magi. |

Lying is a conscious action that only a creature capable of morals could perform. QB is amoral, therefore making him incapable of lying. Rather, what he does is twist the truth or just not tell the whole truth (which isn't lying, technically). If QB outright lied to Kyoko, then he would've told her that she could do it. He didn't; he told her the truth--because technically it is the truth--that there was no precedent of a witch reverting back. It was Kyoko and the audience who misunderstood that as meaning that there was a possibility. In other words, when an amoral being who can only tell the truth talks to you, take his/her words at face value. But us being human, I'm sure you realize that it is innate for us to look for the meaning and context behind words. That's where the misunderstanding takes place. QB isn't a liar but he is a manipulator. The truth is just as capable of manipulating a person as a lie. And that's the ironic part; I say QB is a manipulator, but he says that his culture doesn't know or understand the concept of tricking people, which we can only take as the truth. I know that us it seems like he manipulates everyone, but if you look more closely, all he does is tell the truth and be blunt. Then it's the human characters that react to what he says. |

They lived fast, and died accordingly. Also, this is baffling me. When Kyoko tries to "heat up" Sayaka's body, nothing happens. But earlier, when Homura shows her Soul Gem to Madoka, her body actually glows. Two theories: either Homura has some sort of new special power, or (bleh option) Sayaka's body was simply still warm. |

I have to wonder what Kyubey's doing with all the despair he "eats". If hope is a high level of energy, then despair must be a sort of entropy pollution. Unless Kyubey is actually breaking the second law of thermodynamics and not just bending it. He only said that they searched for an energy source outside the laws of thermodynamics, not that they found it so I suspect this must be another case of Kyuubey manipulating the truth. Trying to figure out how the whole emotions = energy relationship works is giving me a bit headache. This seems like a bit too much suspension of disbelief even for a sci-fi mahou shoujo. Still, I liked this developement: it added considerably more to the Madoka universe and better sci-fi dressed up as supernatural than supernatural dressed up as sci-fi *cough*Evangelion*cough*. | I don't get it. Why all the hate? Kyubey's explaniation of why he uses mahou shoujo's makes complete sense. What is the life of a single personin 7 billion if its for the benefit for the prolonged exiseince of the universe? Useful energy won't last forever and here he is giving a method in which to fix this issue, and yet still all the hate? U all mad? |

| Is there a meaning to the Kyoko's line when she is falling and asks God for a last happy dream ? Right after she said it, the whole world gets upside down, Homura shows up, and Kyosuke appears too. There might be no connections however, we are used to see Homura coming at the best moment within a fight, but still, when I saw this I felt this had an important meaning. I even considered Homura could come from a Kyoko's dream, or that this wish could come true during Walpurgis night, leading to Madoka waking up in her bed as in ep. 1 - none of that makes real sense anyway. |

| Ahahahaahahahahahaaaaaaa! QB would really make the best ruthless businessman! LOL@ him explaning that he has no emotion. I think everybody already knew that XD also, Kyouko's death. I saw it coming, and yet it was unexpected that she would sacrifice herself for Sayaka without a good really good reason. Besides, Kyouko's plan to save Sayaka's soul gem was plain stupid. And so was taking Madoka along. Jeez. I wasn't expecting children's logic to be used in this anime. (or Kyouko was just very desperate/wished to die.) And still, LOL @ QB being so manipulative. I really love him. To conclude: Great episode. Still love QB the Universe saver XD Actually, this series makes me want it to have a bad end to it, cause it would be more believable. (and mostly I'm rooting for a good end (except with Mirai Nikki, but it came anyway XD)) Oh, darkness! Psychodrake said: The real villain is obviously Madoka's little brother. | Kyubey just planned all this form the start! Planning how he wants all this energy from Madoka when she matures into a Witch because of her godly powers. kyubey also just thinks that if he doesnt tell the girls that they get their souls would extracted out or their chances of becoming a witch, people will want to become masou shoujou because of that one wish(although they have to fight for.the universe??)... well DAMN he got that *&%&^% right!! And because he cant understand why they get all upset from their souls changing positions or why they get upset when they die, although the human race has "6 Billion 9 hundred million." so he decides not to tell any of those girls anything because they "didnt ask" and they DID ' agree to the contract' Pppft, bull@^$ and how he cant understand the term " you have been tricking us"? damn Kyubey! and this "Whenever you feel like dying for the sake of the universe...." SUreeee just cuasally show up ' i wanna die for the universe'~~ NOT Anyways he also knew that Sayka coming back to herself is impossible/not likely even though he said to Kyoko that he "doesnt know", this then LEADS to Homura left by HERSELF to face Walpurgis night and fight the very strong witch. BUT he knows that MAdako wouldnt want to just stand and do nothing while her friend Homura is fighting something she cant win while tiring to protect the city, so the then will propose again " Make the contract with me, become a Masou Shojou! and I will make one wish come true" and then most likely that Madoka will as it will save Homura and save the City. but i wonder what her wish will be?? Well,thats what think will happen, and since this is a .. what like 13 episodes ,it will be a MAJOR cliffhanger. Also, doesnt anyone think that Walpurgis night relates back to episode one, from the beginning of the anime/introduction.?? |
| .... i'm speechless... i really didn't expect kyouko to really sacrifice herself to save her, but in the end it's fruitless. I'll miss kyouko from now on. TT_TT ---- but why only breaking her soul gem then it is able to "destroy" witch [sayaka]? --- anyway, great episode, and as always i can't wait for the next one. Kyouko willl forever be missed. Her expression when she's about to "kill" herself is beautiful TT_TT |

| Curse you Kyuubei. He may not be the sadist who loves seeing people die/ suffer emotionally for his own pleasure, but this guy certainly lacks sympathy towards human life. All these Mahou Shoujo are merely being raised to become witches then disposed of for their energy, like pigs to the slaughter. And for what, so the Universe won't run out on it's energy supply? He's like some kind of businessman or politician who has no concern for the minority, as long as maximum benefit is achieved for the greater good. |
