The giant was mentally just a child with no understanding of what he’d done, was doing, or even why he was set for execution? All he wanted was to know why he was always hungry and why no one wanted to play with him.

So sad and so unfortunate.

Those lesbians making out had more fluid animation than the whole Gabimaru-Rokurouta fight. Maybe watching this after the recent Demon Slayer episode wasn't a good idea...

And yes! The Sagiri from Episode 1 is finally back. Now let's see how long it will take for her to revert back to being a nervous wreck again.

Unlike the first three that got me excited, I didn't like this episode, I thought this passage through the forest would be a quick thing to get to some interesting challenge and explore more of the mystery. But now it's become clearer that the anime isn't so much about those mystery and suspense aspects and more about this analytical fighting style and illogical questioning about whether or not sagiri feels capable of doing things... Of course she can, but I don't even have that much expectation that it's her defying the order of things towards the end and doing things her way. Just think a sec, what "balance and stay in the middle" has to do with anything? For me all that sequence was poor dialogue writing. The development of the characters, I don't think it goes much further than this right here.

10/10 ep and that ending scene oml 😍😍 so damn HOT i like it

Great ep. Sagiri is strong man!! And really sweet to see her conviction. I like her growth.

The blaze ninpo art Gabimaru uses looks so damn cool. Animation is incredible.

Purple hair chick is still hot asf. This show really has a great cast!

we get out first look at tao fa and ju fa and that was a very well-animated kiss, guess mappa got different priorities.
aza is a complete savage, drinking blood like that.

LMAO agreed on Yuzuriha, she is so damn hot.

As an anime-only I think the animation is excellent every ep. Especially when Gabimaru uses his blaze ninpo arts

Alright I guess, the fight itself was fine but the animation was quite lacking. On the contrary, the final scene with that glorious kiss... I see your priorities Mappa. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

HAHAHAHAH.. literally me bro🤣 I have to pause anytime they pan over Yuzuriha... that whole outfit of hers does wonders. Massive fan of the black ninja tabi/socks/leggings she's got, ngl. And the side cut-outs. Omg. (Sorry)
I need her to have more moments like when she had Gabimaru in a lock a few episodes ago.

Another okay episode. I seriously do not know what to think of this anymore :/

Main problem for me (and for many others), is the pacing. It feels just a bit too slow I guess? It's hard to describe but these last few episodes have just felt like nothing, and we're basically half way through this show. The main highlight of the episode for me was probably the little bit of backstory we got for that giant, but then he got killed off just a few moments later. I also like the scenes where we see the island, and that village at the end was cool, and while I am interested in learning more about it, that's the thing. I am ONLY looking forward to just seeing more of the island at this point.

I really am not interested in most of these stories :(

And wtf was that ending. I may be dropping this one here

Not the best episode but an important one cause it showed how strong Sagiri can be if she’s not faced with the limits her own family place upon her as a woman.

Next weeks episode is gonna be… mind blowing to say the least!

It would be better if they could make the production more stable, animation isn't so good. Last scene was peak.

Really interesting episode.

It introduces the concept that leaving the island is very hard, because of the currents.

Well, although it's an interesting concept, it remains to be explained why it is possible to reach the island from outside, but I think this is minor, so I will not make this the main point.

Also, I liked the character development. It is a bit fast-paced, but It is still good because the anime is short, so it must be done faster than in longer animes.

Well, overall, interesting, new concepts and I feel like I'm discovering more about the island and its mechanisms, culture, and others with each episode, which is a feeling that I don't get that often, so, I could say I'm engaged, curious to see what the island will bring against them.

Also, I loved the part when the woman, sorry I don't remember names, asaemon discussed with the "senior student" and chose to live her life the way she wanted to. It seems the concept of the Ubermainch, Nietzsche's philosophy, is very well applied in this anime, since in the last episode it introduced the blonde and his asaemon brother, one a superman by nature, the other, a follower.

It remains to be seem what this anime will bring! I will watch another episode today.

Yeh i mean that was pretty good, really Sagiri focused ep which was neat.

Pretty big character growth for Sagiri, I guess from Genji words she found a new form of focus and inner peace which allowed her to overcome some of her fears as an executioner. Adding the previous ep and how Gabimaru's words gave her the motivation to overcome the gender divide that had been haunting her for some time, she's gotten some pretty solid character growth.
Also interesting to know that Sagiri could possibly be way stronger then we realise. Like they said, the Yamada Asaemon ranks seem to deeply underestimated her just because of her gender, but reality is she is pretty skilled.

Rokurota giving Gabimaru a run for his money, the action this ep was good. Got to see a real test of raw power and wits, Gabimaru being pushed to his limits and trying to analyse what he can use against Rokurota, then the duo with Sagiri, all of it was pretty well animated.

Ending was kinda wild, honestly i would feel more surprised that there are humanoid figures that could be inhabitants on this island full of crazy.

The battle with Rokurota was not bad, it could not have been better. It seems that the hermits who need to be killed do not look like elders at all.

Worst episode yet. I have little hope for the rest of the series. Can we just talk about how the hell a character like the giant wasn't already taken in government custody for experimentation? What is this 16 AD???? Since it took a fellow criminal and an Asaemon to kill the giant guy just shows the failure of the series to execute the execution process! If the guy was really condemned, he could skate by and kill the executioner and everyone at the scene, given that he killed a high-ranked Samurai. During the fight he was slightly vulnerable when he was coughing, which allowed the final blow. (Just forget about every sword swipe that hit and did no damage) If the giant wasn't sent to "hell" and was killed the "just" way, set fire to the village while you're at it. You'll get him into killing position! In conclusion, there is no reason for these weak-ass samurai to be here. Not one bit. They are there to behead their assigned criminals if they get out of line. The criminals are stronger than them! EXPLAIN THAT TO ME! I feel as if there is a feminist connotation-- as Sagiri is developed exceptionally well. (Not like that is a bad thing) Anyway I digress. Also, Gabimaru did some "brilliant" magic trick to get the narrator to explain carbon monoxide and get the giant into killing position, which worked, and the forest caught fire. Everything stopped there, then tried creating sympathy for the monster and failed terribly. The guy that was killed in one blow was forgotten about, and the fire magically disappeared. Storylines of the other characters are not connecting, and the weird dragon guy hadn't gotten developed in a while. The show is trying so hard to be deep, but really it is creating so many subplots its just a mess. Just like my opinions on this post.
