| I'm not sure that I have a one single favorite character that reigns over all of the others, but, if I can say that most of my favorite characters are likeable. I usually don't vibe with villains unless they have some sort of secret good intention. |

| Out of my dozen or so favorite characters, the main unlikable ones I would argue are likable and should be liked, they just happen to be disliked more than liked: suzaku from code Geass and Scar from FMAB. Like the opposite of an anti-hero, an anti-antagonist perhaps |

| Yuuichi is not a character someone would see the appeal at first blush like say Luffy. But I think in the narrative a decent number of people would become extremely invested in him like I did. But in general I'd say he's unlikeable |

| To directly answer your question... I can't tell you that, because I really don't think I'm capable of answering such a thing. To me they are very likable characters. "The only thing I say is, try to think objectively" To me, you failed immediately when you asked if they are "likable" or "unlikable," something that I find to be severely subjective. How is this even measured? What is it relative to? If the majority accepts them or not? Which in my opinion is hard to determine. Everyone is different and values different things. It's ok if somebody finds a character likeable, or unlikable. Not everyone likes a "sweetheart" character. There are many "sweetheart" characters that are my favorite, that many people vehemently dislike. At the end of the day not everyone will always love my favorite characters, and that's ok, and I won't always like theirs. Or do you mean they are loved in-universe? I think it's a fool's errand to appeal to everyone, just like a hero can not save everyone, but I'm pretty sure me saying that is at best a non-sequitur. |
