So I guess, a 8-month training arc, and then a 3-year rescue arc.

So, if we follow Ishida's example, all Ichigo needs to get his powers back is someone shooting him through the chest.

The only thing I'm a bit irritated at is the Gotei's attitude after this whole thing, especially Yamamoto; they act like they were in the least bit effective in stopping Aizen, when in reality, had Ichigo not been there there would be no more Soul Society. Also, where did they get a new Council of 46 from so quickly? Aizen killed them all last time.

Also a small problem with "immortal". By the definition of the word, everyone in the Soul Society is immortal, in which case they should really just kill Aizen for good. (No, immortal does not mean you cannot be harmed or killed. It just means you could be chopped up into little tiny pieces and still be alive to enjoy the pain.)

Other than that, a nice chapter. Maybe the series will go back to focus on the human world for awhile, like back in the first arc, which would be very nice. It would give Kubo a chance to pick up the pieces of his canon and try as much of a fresh start as he could.

I'm pretty sure life is a tsundere...

Haha, that would be funny. First we get Rescue Rukia-arc, then a Rescue Orihime-arc and finally a rescue Aizen-arc XD

Nothing surprises anyone about this manga anymore aside from how when we think Kubo can fuck it up any harder .. he does.

So... how many chapters till Ichigo is back at full power?

I'm going to say it right now, this is the first real cliffhanger we've had in a while. Right now, I have NO idea what's going to happen. At least in the past it was sorta predictable. But now it's like... Whoa, he can't even sense spirits, and his reiatsu is vanishing.

But there is no real sense of any plot-driving impending doom anymore. The good guys have suffered basically no losses throughout the last 423 chapters, the strongest Espada was easily disposed of, and even Aizen's defeat was terribly anticlimactic. The only way he could redeem himself now was if he actually had some powerful illusion up his sleeve all along. So Ichigo losing his powers will really just seem like a mere emotional loss, since there's currently no real threat opposing Karakura Town or Soul Society.

In addition, Rukia, Renji, Chad and Ishida were dangerously close to useless in this arc, and the same thing could be said about most of the huge cast of supporting characters throughout the whole manga. They aren't even good at dying, unless Gin really turns out to be the first dead good guy.

Fortunately some of the characters have interesting personalities. There are supposedly about four years left to go, after all.

Oh come on it was not that bad. I have high hopes for the next 2 arcs. The first arc of bleach was just ok and the second arc was nice with a lot of battles and charater devloment. The 3rd arc was one of my favs when SS and Ichigo's group were fighting the Aranncars in the city. Lots of good fights and new charaters. And the 4th and 5th arcs were kinda slow and boring. The 4th with the battle in HM and the 5th with the war. But i have a feeling the last two will be the best and end the manga in a good way.

YES!!!

We'll have Bleach for years to come, I can keep reading my favorite series while fighting other people on the forums :)

But seriously, 3 years???

I find that hard to believe, especially after everything that has happened.

Either way, I'm one of the few remaining fans who still has Bleach as his #1 anime, hopefully we'll get two awesome arcs.

The next two arcs of Bleach will be as follows:

Ichigo is going to go to hell, develop demon powers which will allow him to use his latent Hollow powers.

Several people will attempt to kill Hinamori, but she just won't die no matter how hard they try because the science division will just grow whatever she needs; organs, legs, a brain...but not arms. They can't do arms.

Ichigo will face off against Yama-ji and Urahara who think he's too dangerous to live. Urahara admits defeat, and pulls a method for regenerating Shinigami powers out his ass. Ichigo, a superior being with Hollow, Shinigami, and Demon powers becomes the Captain Commander, much to the relief of Ukitake.

Then he'll bust Aizen out of that very specifically named prison, and move forth to gate crash the Spirit Kings realm

Meanwhile, Ishida, who had been patiently impregnating every female in Karakura, rises up with his army of Quincies.

You may be rolling your eyes now...just wait until it actually happens.

Who said Ryuken was not doing that already =D

Ryuken: Ishida, meet your younger brother(s)

BLEACH THE TIDE CHORNICLES.

Im all up for that as long as Ichigo does not start growing trees with his happyness and reading romantic novels to his enemies.

Fix'd Now, about the sequel it would be that the good guys are immortal, angsting over his defeated enemy saying stuff like "why did he have to died when he was just a lonely Emo." And arms get hacked off and the main charcter get stabbed in the chest at least twice followed by an ass-pull of some sorts. Oh wait that how Bleach is now.

WTF happened with Nel and Grimmjow?!

Well Grimmjow is dead and Nel...is lying around in Hueco Mundo somewhere...maybe having finally regained her memories...or maybe not. Who knows, it's been almost 120 chapters since we last saw her after all.

But Grimmjow was alive when Noitora tried to finish him off. His status after that was never confirmed.

You make a really good point, even if we have a lot of unanswered questions, the way this arc ended just left it at a "Everything is all okay! the main bad guy is sleeping in impel down random prison #31, you have no more power, you just said goodbye to your shinigami friend and you have to get rid of your cool little badge" it really does leave it at a calm moment, with no real urgency to move forward with the plot.

And why the hell would we get a time skip, really? So Ichigo could actually finish school, make out with Inoue a bunch, have a kid, then realise that he has to get powers because a hollow ate his baby, there's no need for a time skip at all, and if Tite throws one in then he's clearly been reading too much OP.

Bleach is slow, this is the main problem I believe. a story has two pillars; characters and their interactions/plot, Tite is struggling with both.

I don't mind the fights being 'lame' every once in a while, or even the 'anticlimactic' ichigo/aizen showdown-which wasn't a final showdown so it's actually not anticlimactic in that sense-it's simply that the author seems to have forgotten what 'pace' means, bankai or uber bankai as stand-in-for-plot-gimmicks is not the way to go. it's fine as foreshadowing or preparing the way for an evolution, like making ichigo face his humanity/weakness for once and not being able to shout and train for years in a second etc, but something's missing..
take Naruto for example, where the jutsu don't really play such an important role anymore as much as the characters and plot, if a story gets that right then even recycled moves-water prison technique in the last 2 chapters-within an appropriate context can be cool and interesting, Tite hasn't gotten the hang of it yet it seems.

the second issue not really getting attention is character development, we got some of that for instance when Orihime was brought to aizen and became a bit more than a damsel in distress though she quickly reverted, and especially Gin's POV which was too short IMO, but it seems the characters are pretty much the same people they were since the beginning of the arc, they haven't grown in any meaningful way, and ice boy's "not enough" is not enough of anything, he's still weak and short etc etc, again, everything's moving at the snail's pace it's been going at since the soul society arc finished..Tite Really needs to pull of a Shippudden or Bleach is going to be the not yet there shonen till the end.

And even though I know they will see each other again in the future, the farewell was kinda sad. I mean, they've been together through alot.

AHahahha omg that ^ was funny as hell.

It says at the end of the Chapter that the Bleach Manga will go on a 2 week Hiatus according to the one i read here - http://www.bleachanime.org/manga/Bleach-Chapter-423/bleach_19.png.php so i guess it lets me take a break on it.

Ichigo is gonna lose his powers, but 1 thing i will think will happen is Ichigo's Dad will give him some of his Spiritual Powers.
Just enough that it will let Ichigo start from scratch and in time, he will regain his powers to like they were.

I can assume he will help train with Ichigo for awhile.
Maybe we will learn even more about Ichigo's fathers past then.

Then, i assume since Kisuke was talking about the Spirit King, i can bet the Next Arc will be talking about him.
Ichigo will, once again try to get his powers back,
then all hell will break loose in the Soul Society ........again.

I actually quite liked this chapter. :3
Nice to see some funny moments, I've really missed those.

As for the good bye. It was really well done. I loved it.
And for everyone saying she can wear a gigai:
-Rukia is a solider so she can't go off whenever she wants.
-Rukia isn't someone that knows how to ask for something, so chances are, she won't ask to be placed in the Human World or to have authorized use of a gigai. So who knows when she will see Ichigo again or when he will see her again.
-Finally, the Afro dude does not seem to have a gigai nor did Rukia have one when she was first stationed in Karakura town (Kisuke gave her one....and we all know why). So chances are, you don't get a gigai on hollow guard duty. You only get one if there is need for one, or special situation.

I agree with everyone saying Hinamori being alive is bull. She should be dead after the damage she received. >__>

Well, despite the fact that Rukia and Ichigo's farewell was indeed short, it was intentional, and it makes sense. It makes the whole thing much more depressing, and it goves Ichigo more motivation to find a way to see her again. After all, there is no way he or she is satisfied with that goodbye.

For some reason this really seemed rushed, badly structured, or its just me who reads it too fast.

Last week, Yagami wrote Ichigo's name on the Death Note, and next chapter he wakes up, goes outside and says bye to Rukia. No flashback scenes, no full page drama? Like they have known each other since chapter one, I expected something very big to happen.

I didn't really love it much, For an end of arc, it wasn't that enjoyable. I'm happy there's a 2 week hiatus though, at least Kubo can have time in developing the story...or does he?

My guess is that when it picks up on October 27th, there will be a time skip. Probably a year or two. Just enough time for some Aizen flunky that we didn't know about to get down into the "Avici" and set him free.
