The Power System has been hinted. I like that it doesn't overwhelm the viewer with exposition dumps. We're being eased into the story.

Good episode. I like how the powers work in this anime, at least the MC's powers. Giving life to objects is pretty interesting.
I think my only complaint is the soundtrack. Not the opening, this one is nice, but the music that plays in the action scenes for example. It's just my own opinion, but I don't really like it.

Amazing ep

Rudo tries to escape his demise as those trash beasts aim to kill him.

A new character named Enjin appears and man is it similar to the way that Urahara did to Ichigo with a umbrella.

The animation and effects looked great as he quickly shredded those trash beasts. Also, the cgi moved decently well.

Ngl, his power awakening made lots of sense considering the way that he values all trash. This means that all objects are at his disposable if possible. He learns that he's a Giver as well.

The way that the slave traders reacted to seeing him using multiple weapons, means its must be a norm to only have one object of value. Hence, Enjin and his umbrella's soul. Looks like Rudo is a anomaly.

The usage of soul energy and the way that it changes the weapons is just like Asta. All that red and black lol. Will he choose to be a Cleaner is the real question?

10/10

My god, that might be a contender for one of the worst visual vomit OPs I've ever had the sad pleasure of witnessing. Then again, tbf, the actual show isn’t much better animation-wise, so I guess it was a given that the OP would look like ass. Shame really, the song is actually good. Anyways moving on. Ripoff Urahara shows up and, for whatever reason, decides to save this bum Rudo. Honestly, should’ve just let him die, but yeah, had to "SeE iF hE waS tHe ReAL dEAl".

Seriously though, Rudo is already so annoying and unlikeable, just yelling and trying to boss around the guy who literally just saved him. That scene where they were feeding him straight trash and insulting him... had a smile on my face the whole time. Then he suddenly gets this random-ass power-up and goes Super Saiyan... just because? Yeah man, great.

Watch out guys, it'd be easy to cut yourself on all this edge. Seriously though, is, like, the point that it sucks? I read a review for the manga that said it felt like the characters were talking outside the 4th wall directly at the reader, so good to know that that's been faithfully adapted at least. I'll likely continue watching out of sheer, morbid curiosity.

I actually like the visuals. The fight was pretty even with the CGI creatures which didn't bother me. But, the story feels way too stupid. Building a show around garbage is ridiculous. Another weird things is him getting his powers so quickly I've probably tolerated "awakenings" in other shows/manga and they didn't bother me, but seeing Rudo fall into a pit and instantly turning into the Hulk because he was angry just felt dumb. And while I do think Rudo's anger is justified, I'm not really interested in watching a show where the character sounds like he's constipated 95% of the time because he's angry or excited. Not going to knock people for enjoying it. I know there's an audience for this style of show, but I'm going to drop it because it ain't for me.

I appreciate the OP and ED keeping in theme of this series. Unbreaker...Octashredder💎 action scenes were well done and typical shonen writing but enough unique aspects to keep me and many others intrigued. lookin' forward to the future of this series👍

The OP reminded me of the first Kaiju No. 8 opening. At least, it's spoiler-free ig.

Really love Enjin! The visuals and sounds when he used his Umbreaker were amazing. And the idea of an umbrella being used as a weapon is pretty cool and refreshing.

Pretty sure Rudo is unique in the sense that he's able to imbue 'power' to many objects at once while the typical Giver can only imbue into one object like Enjin with his umbrella.

Can't wait for the anime to unravel more of its storyline and world-building. I'm also curious about the buyers of Spherites...guess human trafficking exists in the Pit as well. Show really gives Borderlands vibes so far.

And apparently, there won't be a new episode next week?

This is pretty damn great so far, it's been a while since I've felt so excited for a battle shonen anime (unless Bleach TYBW counts). The scene where Rudo bit off that shithead's fingers and unleashed his power was pure hype.

AS someone who really enjoys the manga here are my issues with episode 2.

First off, I think episode 1 was really well done but episode 2 has me worried.

They really exaggerated the initial strength of Rudo for some reason. In the manga he doesn't take on a bunch of full-grown trash beasts. The anime makes them seem weak as FUCK by doing this which only hurts the integrity of the anime and how things are scaled power wise relative the MC. Now Rudo just seems OP as fuck for no reason and this just hurts his development down the line. Like these massive trash beasts seem like lvl 1 rookies instead of the threats they should be like in the manga. The only trash beast Rudo kills this early on is the size of a large dog in the manga..

Other than that, I think they are doing a good job but man, to me this episode was a big miss and has me worried for the future of the anime.

2 episodes in and I'm feeling pretty ambivalent thus far.

Too much plot convenience thus far to write off as unexplained details to come later.

The MC was dodging bullets in episode 1 and jumping around like he's superhuman, but he suddenly loses these traits when convenient to progress the plot.

Then the entire thing with him getting dumped for killing his foster father also felt really forced and awkwardly executed too. I guess investigations don't matter when "trash tribesfolk" are involved? Ok fine, but then also having his love interest turn her back on him on top of that was overkill imo. Giving up on him that quickly after saying she loved him just felt like unnecessary piling on to further fuel our MC's revenge when he already had plenty of motivation to catch his father's killer and get revenge on everyone else that wrote him off to die without questioning it. Give him at least 1 little ray of hope for after he gets his revenge!

Additionally, I don't know how the hell he survived that huge fall while also not being able to free himself before his "execution" a few moments earlier. Do "sphereites" have special rope that limits these people's power? Or did he just conveniently power up to avoid dying after he started falling? It's almost certainly the latter, which feeds into my concerns about the plot.

Now we're in episode 2 and he's suddenly soloing these giant trash monsters? Holy power scaling Batman! Seems like if the air didn't poison him he would have already won by himself and wouldn't need rescuing. Glad to see a previous commenter point out this is an anime change from the source material, but power scaling concerns already abound now after 2 episodes.

Not a fan of the CG either, though that's more of a personal preference against most CG as it rarely is better than non CG animation even when it is high quality (this isn't high quality either imo).

I'll give it 1 more episode to see if any of these concerns are addressed with it, but otherwise this feels like a drop to me. With so many good anime airing this season it feels unnecessary to invest more time in something that's already got so many issues this early into the series.

This show is obviously style over substance. I like post apocalyptic things, so might stick around for a few more episode, but I already feel like I've seen this many times, just executed better. This is literally shounen slop, but less enjoyable then better executed ones like JJK or Solo Leveling (the former at least have substance, and the latter has aura).
It is pretty obvious, that the author worked with the creator of Fire Force. But that show at least had amazing OPs and EDs and very hot female character designs, and it was still hard to suffer through all of it.

This show is a safe kind of edgy that brings out my inner middle schooler. Its very much got alot of really common tropes and i really doubt its gonna really excel at any of them going off these first 2 episodes but I'm having fun. I am fully expecting this to be the kind of series thats grit is more aesthetic than actually capitalizing on grim themes but as long as its entertaining enough im good.

Alright, that was the second episode and I actually liked it more than the very first one. Of course, he meets a teacher and discovers the powers that have been lying dormant inside him all along. It’s a trope, yeah, but I think it was handled well here.

The CGI on the monsters looked pretty bad at the beginning, to be honest. But during the fight with the umbrella guy, the CGI actually looked pretty solid again. You can definitely tell which scenes got the budget and which didn’t.
