Well from what I gathered, simple listings are likely to be closed in FG, as they're not really promoting user interaction.
Now it's arguable whether or not this thread is like that. Most people do use it as such though.
It's others' faults they can't elaborate on their opinions. No, they simply state them, no matter how controversial and then they forget about the thread.
I was waiting for him to reply back so I could elaborate.
Why it should be in the Casual Discussion? Just because its opinion-based?
Even if people are posting here because they cant explain their opinions properly(which is not true neither is why this thread still stands). You are still totally free to talk about them here. I did hundred of times in the oldest version.
I used to come to this thread to either talk, in a friendly manner, about what somebody posted, or to see if someone said something interesting(happened hundreds of times) or to post something unpopular myself.
I don't see it as a 'forum game' or something that's unique from content from other subforums. And those 'opinions' and stuff, people would find them more intriguing if they had a bit of backstory, like why that user feels that way about some subject.
If you posted something such as 'I hate sandwiches', no one would give a crap. But if you changed the opinion into 'I hate sandwiches because bread tastes gross' then lots of people would be interested in hearing more about it.

No, those things are fine in FG. If you were to put a topic like that in Casual Discussion it'd get locked for being simple listing. Hence why it should be more than simple listing.

Much.
How
The art of 1999 fits the more dark and intimate theme of the fight perfectly, much more than 2011's more modern style ever would have for this scenario. This style, along with the OST used for it, created a chokingly claustrophobic setting, that is simply far more impactful on the audience than 2011's bombast could have ever achieved. It's the same reason why, in contrast, 2011's Requiem scene outclasses 1999's due to the context; Chrollo is
committing a mass act of poetic genocide to honor the memory of a friend and his wish; to cause destruction, the OST fit this perfectly, as well as the art and animation. The reason 1999 failed to capture the power of this scene, is because of its more slower pace, when it's supposed to be faster paced, also, the OST used wasn't as fitting.
Also, Kurapika's design in this battle is exceedingly superior to 2011 due to the more lines drawn on his face to create more expressions of angst and negativity, 2011 could not due this, because its style relies more on simplicity. You can see this clearly this:
Notice the more amount of lines and expression, as well as darker paint used for the left? It creates a more heavy feeling on the eyes of the viewer, different from the right, which is more plain and less weighty, if you will.
And that's this:
Is much more intimidating in this moment than this:
The only moment 2011 threw away its needlessly clean art during Kurapika vs Uvogin was this: Which is a damn. Great. Piece.
Also, you know how people in the Naruto community make jokes about how Naruto devolved into giant monster battles? I see something similar within Kurapika vs Uvogin 1999 vs 2011's take on it. In 1999, it added in more of the manga's take on the fight that revolved even more around Kurapika's agility in close ranged combat that was much more than him just dodging Uvogin's giant magnitudes, it make more use of his flexibility to counter Uvogin without running away from him the entire time, something 2011 did too, but much less so, once again, losing the intimacy of the encounter. Also, the animation of 1999 REALLY kicked up here for this fight, it due to it being mostly done in heavy layers of dark paint, it is absolutely stellar to look at and watch over and over again, much more than 2011's cleanness.
Once again, in regards to the OST used, 1999's more subtle track fit the fight more than 2011's cacophony of guitar strings that began to grain on your ears more than Micheal Bay and Lincoln Park's hellish combination with transformers.
The art design makes Kurapika look incredibly intimidating, as I've said before. His chains look more realistic, once again, taking a hold of the viewer. Looking at this fight for extended periods of time almost makes you forget to breathe it's so intense. This is what 1999 had down right more than 2011 in many aspects in general.
The only thing 2011 did better than 1999 during Kurapika vs Uvogin is the ending. Other than that, it's superior to me 85-90% of the time.
Wish-ly said: I don't really think the Dark Souls series is that great. Bloodborne is good, though.
Would you mind to refine and specify what sorts of things make you dislike Dark Souls? Just curious. :p
Not that I dislike it, just don't think it's "great". I would say it's "okay". I played the first one to the end and the second one about 3/4ths through. I think to me the part that was most enjoyable was the design. The worlds were beautiful and the effort that went into the enemies was staggering. Just everything in between feels stale. It's not difficult, really. It's just tedious a lot of the time, especially once you analyse the attacking patterns. The difficulty lies more in not making a mistake and being able to execute the same attack over and over. For me personally it just got a bit boring after a while. I totally understand why a lot of people adore it, though.
make yourself comfortable, i'll be done in just a few decades
you got kinda sorta closer to it than those guys on the gaming forum, yeah its difficulty is rooted in knowledge, but to gather said knowledge you have to come back to haunted house design places and bosses which killed you (so ofc it's hard but in a prepare for exam kind of way than reflexes)
Ah, I see. Valid points that I acknowledge and not gonna lie, I agree with. But I guess it comes down to how much that bothers someone personally, and I'd guess it doesn't really affect me :p
But I definitely understand.

I knew it was going to be like that so I prepared myself mentally. But turns out I didnt prepared myself enough.
If someone see this post and wonder why. Quote it and ask me 'why'.
people seem to be making a bigger deal out of it than David Bowie's death last year. That's what has me asking why.
OT: the majority of rap music is unbearable garbage
Izaya is still an ugly frog who should've been downgraded to supporting cast. It's almost like he was already supporting cast with how little he did. That's where he belongs.
