Have you seen any Urasawa Naoki no Manben? He did an episode on the guy who wrote Jiraishin. Other importants like Furuya Usamaru, Fujita Kazuhiro, Inio Asano, Ito Junji, cool educational type stuff where he explores the habit and method of contemporaries and learns himself.

It doesn't seem like you'll be online for the time being, so I want before I forget to ask if you're familiar with Harry Clarke's illustrations for Poe? He's a part of the art nouveau in Ireland, did a lot of stained-glass illustration by commission I think but I just learned of him through the illustrated Faust.

are you? she's cute but if he made me a Kirito set there'd be no competition.

I like the idea of the detective presenting his ideas and all of his evidence right in the drawing room of the manor or country club of the crime. Poirot and Conan supersede legally instituted processes(in Conan's case the domestic as well) with reasoning and interpretation. There's a tableau of fun post ww1 character psychology that Poirot and Hastings have to take from. Also part of why I like Magnum p.i. except with Vietnam veterans.
More recent detectiving things with women or hardboiled characters taking narrative voice can be ok, but the one case I haven't read any of and the other is meant to be self-effacing in service of the mystery. Older detective writers went into the picaresque or risked being mediocre(like the Boscombe Valley Case).

At least in Poirot's case the toying with meanings is a part of the crime finding.

Three or four hours a week during my free time at work and school for less than half a year, but I already knew most words just not how to make them.

o!

Design books can be cute. The guy who designed Turn A Gundam/Blade Runner and Mamoru Nagano are good for thinking about LOGH looks
idk about ideas, i still want to know what Araki likes in Hemingway.

I put aside knowledge and idea books for Japanese, which is going well. I want to play some Japanese games soon maybe an snes dragon quest or Hokuto ga Gotoku. Maybe come summer I'll be reading interviews and 2ch threads. Then I'll be cool enough to talk to Hound's friends about the swastikas they find on Japanese maps.

The Witcher guy has an amulet that lets you do l.a. noire type stuff except he's the mystery.
I'll stick with Conan and Poirot

that sounds like a vn where the girl isn't cute

I think I want to get into detectiving again but not for The Witcher 3

I think it's been a pretty cute way to spin out of the original work. Shaftisms aren't too strong, but they occupy the attention for a while and help obscure one from truly seeing whatever banality might lie beneath. Mostly, I'm a Fate format apologetic, so it can't be helped.

I'm going at it yet again, had to take 2 months break due to uhh college responsibilities (ended up completely not failing which is good) lmao
I didn't like the way it looked so I had to make quite a decision and completely redesign everything, which I'll be spending some time on now but the important thing is I'm back at it again :p
