----------------------------------------
So...plot twists abound on this one.

Things seem to be moving a little too fast. I feel like Iemon and the old peoples' deaths were supposed to be big deals, and they only seemed like necessities. Luke keeps acting like a baby and let's loose an "I'm not strong enough" line that we always hear from these characters. As soon as Sync was revealed to be the replica we all knew he was (and this was such a surprise?) Ion reveals he indeed is a replica also (genuine surprise). I don't know how I feel about Ion being replica, as I feel like it would have been out of his character not to empathize with Luke a little more (he cried for Sync for god's sake). So unless Ion's replica status is for some real reason, I'm just gonna call it a wash.

Everyone escapes, and we find out Tear is dying (she's the love interest, so of course she has to die). Again, it just felt like they had to rush this out for the end of the episode instead of leaving it for the next, but whatever. I guess the next episode will be Tear dealing with her mortality, with Luke coming in to sweep her off her feet in some "charming" way that is supposed to make us root for them.

Not a bad episode, but if you've played any RPG, you knew pretty much where it was going the whole time.

This episode didn't do much for me, aside from the Sync part.

At first I didn't mind Luke's sensitivity to Iemon/etc.'s deaths, but then it got repetitive when he spat out the same lines over and over again. He went from aggressive, missed the assertive line, to passive in one episode.

Sync's mask-less animation was a bit unfortunate. At least there are new ending images.

I'd like to see more characters' development. I understood that the plot doesn't interest me so much in these series.

honestly.... I wasn't giving so much for this series from the beginning but as it happened to me with Ragnarok the Animation, The start was kind of dull and boring... the characters were kind of not really interesting or they were asses.

This particular case I hated Van's attitude from the beginning so I was glad he got a bit more mature.

Perhaps Tales of the abyss in a matter of time it rushes everything to show you the important stuff, for me of course this should be worked on because sometimes it goes WAY too fast. like this episode.

But the story its getting a bit more interesting with each episode, something that at first seemed to be dull, with time it improved and I'm looking forward to see where does it go to.

I'm looking forward to some more character development in the future.

Ooh, new ending animations. It shows the characters in their costume titles.

Anise: Little Devil
Jade: Evil Fonist?
Guy: Blade Master
Tear: Cool Chick
Natalia: Adventurous Princess
Luke: Berserker
Asch: He's wearing Luke's Viscount costume

I'm hoping to see the other costumes in the upcoming episodes.

Anyway, yes the pacing is way too fast because it's not really possible to cover the entire story in 26 episodes without some alterations. At least the parts that were important to the plot are included here, even if things were very rushed in this episode.

Yes, Ion is a replica created to take the place of the original who, at the time of his creation, was near death.

And Tear isn't gonna die anytime soon. She's way too important to die. Also...

Next episode is Mt. Roneal. I'm looking forward to it.

Tear was just too delicious in the new version of the ending. MOAR PLOX!

oh yeah, there was a tad bit amount of angst in this episode, surprisingly, not coming from Luke at all. it pretty much killed the build-up for the revelation toward the end for me.

yep.

pretty good episode, though i feel like they're really rushing through it. Class M and I's deaths should've had more impract, except it all happened so abruptly, it was hard to empathize with. Tear's sickness is sort of unexpected, if you didn't know that they'd been to more than the 1 passage ring they showed. i'm hoping it the pacing doesn't get any worse, but they've still got ways to go storywise.

i did like the extended version of the ED more than the regular version. And seeing the alternate costumes was pretty cool too. Too bad they didn't go the swimsuit routes. =D

The new ED makes me hope they switch into new costumes ASAP. It seems that there isn't a good retirement plan in their world. It was how many old people can we kill in one episode as fast as possible. Otherwise I hope there isn't too much angst in future episodes over Tear's predicament.

For me their deaths didnt even seem like necessities. Luke and his RPG-Group are quite capable of dealing with a lot more enemies than just that "blond handgun girl" and her bunch of cannon fodder. Why did they have to run?
Furthermore, why did Van kill the old folks? He could just push them away with his "wind blow" like he did before.

The only death that made a bit sense to me was the suicide of Ion. He really failed his mission and therefore wasnt useful for his master any more.

For some reasons, the events tend to pile on top of each other, like wild fires.

Well, if he's going to make a new world anyway, it wouldn't really matter if he killed them or not. But if he did not kill them then they would probably help the gang some more, so he took the route that proved the most helpful to him.

Did Sync really die? It would be a nice twist of the plot if later he turned out to be alive ^__^

Im glad they at least put the alternate costumes in the ending. At the pace they'e going, i doubt the gang will receive their alternate costumes in the show.

I agree that 26 episodes is too short for the story. They easily could have made it into at least a 52 episode series. But, I think they're doing a decent job fitting the main parts into the series and the alterations to the story are smooth.

But, I still wish it had been slated to be longer. However, how are they going to finish the series?...hmm...

I personally have no idea how they can finish up this series with only 8 more episodes since they haven't
I hope they don't rush things even more.

Legretta kept forgetting that she had guns :/

and why the heck did Van even hesitate in killing the old people? he was planning to kill them anyway, this was just speeding up his timetable a bit.

and why did Sync kill himself? it would have made more sense if he'd spent the last of his life trying to kill as many of them as he could. tho, tbh, i don't understand why he's working for Van to begin with if he feels all replicas are worthless, especially since Van's the one that cast him aside as trash to begin with.

also, why is Ion so lucid? he's only 2, Luke had to learn everything from scratch when he was made so wouldn't Ion just now be learning how to wipe himself? :/

Yay, cool chick, favorite outfit in the game.

I liked the episode, but I must say something: if you haven't played the game before, you''ll not understand very well the story, cause it's a huge game, and they couldn't do much in 26 episodes...

This episode was great. Many developments in the story. Man they sure revealed alot in this one episode including the identity to synce as being one of the replica's of fon master ion. Also van's true motives are finally revealed and what he really wants is to create a replica planet that is free of yulia's score. Also we learn that voice that has been in luke's head before, way at the start of the series is actually yulia. Now tear is in danger and needs help. I am just thankful that they did not skip anything. Guess thats why they had to kind of rush it.

I still remember fighting synce at that part of the game, man he was one of the toughest bosses lol.

From the looks of the preview, the next episode is going to be another huge startling revelation. There finally starting to reveal the true identities of the oracle knights.

And the new costume suits for the characters displayed in this new version of the ending were awesome. I remember how much of a pain in the ass it was to get those.

Ah, those elderly people were quite the dynamic characters. It is such a shame that they had to go out like that, all because a certain snake by the name of Spinoza snitched on them. He did seem to be regretful afterward, that doesn't erase what he's done, though.

I remember how difficult the boss fight of Sync was. He kept running around with his incredible agility. He was burdensome to stagger, and he just kept spamming his mystic arts as if it was his last day on Earth. One of the grueling boss fights in the game, for sure. As for person himself, Sync is quite a pitiful character, if I say so myself. I always viewed him as Luke if he went down a strayed path, without family and friends to keep him afloat. It was an unfortunate turn of events.

As for Ion's replica status reveal, that was surprising. I already had this idea that Sync may most likely be a replica of Ion, but for the both of them to be replicas of the original Fon Master? That was a plot twist.
