This was alright for the most part. Likely a one and done. Nothing too game changing about the plot, but it had its fun moments.

Well, Lloyd pulled it off. Using forbidden magic and with the help of Claire, they managed to defeat that monster. Felt rushed but whatever. Plus, they added more plot twist for Lloyd being sucked into some otherworldy realm.

This anime is what it is really. Lloyd carried a lot of load on his back tbh.

Honestly glad this one is over. It was a rough go. Claire might be one of the most annoying bleeding heart characters I’ve ever witnessed. Lloyd somehow not getting any repercussions from the taboo ancient magic because….idk some power of friendship half-assed reason. Also, all the legendary party members seem waaaaay more interesting than Lloyd and his party.

6/10. Textbook definition of mid, not egregiously bad, but this didn’t do anything well. I will give them credit for not turning this into a harem fanservice fest like these generic fantasy shows usually are. Having Lloyd be in a mainly male party and just be friends with the girls was cool. Finale was easily the best episode of this series as well so that salvaged the score a bit for me. Nice way to end off and showcase Lloyd truly becoming his own person.

Merlin finally shows back up! This was always going to come down to ancient magic and it’s fitting Lloyd had to support Claire by using it in front of Merlin and surviving so she can be at peace about him being an adventurer. I missed something tho about sybil, is he dead or is his spirit trapped in that other dimension between worlds? The ancient magic lore was pretty cool too. I can understand ancient magicians wanting to ensure it doesn’t get abused, but casting a spell on the world to prevent non inheritors from using it is wild.

Classic one cour fantasy anime, the battle against the demon lord just gets going as we end. Can’t say I’m motivated to read further in the story, but seeing Lloyd one day stand beside Merlin and fight would be cool. I know she’s extremely proud of him standing on his own two feet.

Kinda bad, but for some reason I never hated it. 5/10 (but more like 4,5 or really close to 4). Literally everything is generic.

Oh I thought they're gonna reveal that Lloyd and Sybil are the same person, seems like it's not the time yet.

Anyway, what I love the most about this anime is that it's not harem, the main party has more male members than female members, very rare for this kind of anime.

What I hate is high death toll, especially in city invasion arc, though I admire when Sybil revive everyone.

2:00 she looks like she’s aboutta do a Special Beam Cannon or Instant Transmission 🤣

I really like those eye catchers halfway through the episode. Nice little jingle.

10:06 Lloyd and Master finally reunited! 🙌🏻

My 8th Summer 2025 anime finished! 🙌🏻 Tbh, this anime was okay 😅 these “Banished from the Hero’s Party” Animes haven’t been the same since the OG and Beast Tamer 🤣 The girls were all great tho: Yui, Silica, Claire, Merlin, and that blonde knight girl from Lloyd’s original party. Sucks we never got to see her again. I was hoping she’d join Lloyd. That hot spring fanservice episode was probably the best 🤣👌🏻

"I don't know if I like that."
a decent zinger to finish, but also sums up the how I rate the show. Mostly mid, but buoyed up by some cute character designs and having a well balanced party. Animation quality definitely a minus, and plot and writing minus some.

A bit over generous 7 for the season.

Probably the weakest group of S-Rank Adventurers I've seen. Though, it kind of made things a bit more suspenseful. Not too much though.
AS many have said, the definition of Mid. Yep, in the middle for me. Watchable but not much more, much better Fantasy fare this Season.

Well, it only took 11 1/2 episodes but Lloyd *finally* acknowledged how strong he really was right before the climax of this episode. (Even if he went back to the schtick at the very end)

Side note- this is the third time I’ve seen the “overpowered guy doesn’t realize just how strong he is” trope after that last dungeon boonies one and the Unaware atelier master one, and turns out 3 was indeed the charm for the MC finally acknowledging his strength

The show was entertaining enough that it kept me interested until the end, but yea, I’ve definitely seen better entries in the “banished from the party” sub genre; arguably even that outcast restaurant one was better than this show.

It was a bit generic at times, but it was also good to see a few of the common tropes in fantasy anime be avoided, as mentioned in another comment.

(To be clear I don’t have a problem with tropes themselves; it’s about how they are used and how much thought the writer puts into them)

Overall, show was mid, and I’ve seen better. Entertaining enough, but hardly worth a revisit.

The episode itself was good, but the show as a whole could have been better.

One more summer 2025 show wrapped up, and based on the “fin” title card at the end, highly doubt there will be a season 2. Considering that it didn’t end awkwardly in the middle of anything though, at least it was a satisfying point.

I found the action a bit lacklustre at the end (i.e., when the airship was falling), and honestly felt like they should have just defeated the chimera once it was incredibly strong and had taken on the power of the former Demon Lord 😬

Claire was kind of annoying in that sense with the "Think about the animals!" shtick, but then it was written to all end up fine so guess it's all good.

Wasn't really an amazing show from my perspective, but stuck to the end for something that's kind of 5/10 average. It felt slightly better at the start of the season, but then felt kind of "4 out of 10" in some later episodes.

I've been waiting for these experienced adventures to react to the reveal of the legendary adventure, Merlin, and it was treated as a literal afterthought. They only acknowledged it in a scene the next day after meeting her. And why of the party is she the only famous one?? and how did Sybil survive the death of everyone else via demon lord self destruct to cast ancient magic?

Overall, it's about a 6 or a 7 out of 10.

Probably the most mid fantasy anime of the summer season but was an enjoyable one, I gave it 7, the characters are good, in particular I liked Merlin and Yui (I have a soft spot for genkikko pink-haired anime girls, they're so funny).
I doubt we'll see a S2 of this.

It was average but the mystery of Lloyd kept me intrigued. At first I thought Lloyd was Sybil who just got punished by turning into a younger version with no memories (cause Merlin found him there and Sybil was no where after the battle with the demon lord) but it seems like the final episode alludes that they’re two different people…. If anyone has any insight into that on who Lloyd is that would be great lol

Decent finale. Nothing much to really point out, just a typical ending for an isekai fantasy anime. It’s probably already on the list of shows that won’t get a second season, but oh well, it is what it is. It was a fun ride while it lasted. Can’t wait to see all the similar anime next season, they really never stop, haha.

Nah, I skipped the episode to the end immediately once the name of it appeared on screen: "Lloyd is aware he lacks power"
Final fucking episode, and they still have that shit as the focus of the plot.
I practically fully watched this show because I actually liked the 1st episode, the 2nd and 3rd episode were boring but I liked the party, they are all nice prople, that makes me feel nice, but sadly starting on ep3 I got bored, it's always the same, no matter what they do, is always Lloyd criying for not having enough power, as he says, and the others glazing the shit out of him.
Oh, and the poor quality is crazy, I can a accept a shit ass looking show if it's good, or even average, but this is on another level, like one thing is having poor animation, I understand that, but having bad drawings is a completely different thing... is not that the drawings looks bland as fuck, but that they are just bad, just look at any scene with more than 2 characters on screen and you will see at least someone with fucked up eyes, one bigger than the other, or at a different height, that's unacceptable because I'm not talking about characters being far away in the back (like so many shows poorly draw their background characters), but being front and center of the screen, absolutely inexcusable.
The characters... I like the 3 girls, Yui way more because of her seiyuu (reason why I watched this on the 1st place), and the guys are nice too I guess, but Lloyd is fucking trash, lamest MC ever I swear, a fucking loser with 0 personality and self motivation, I've seen hundreds of MCs like him, but I swear he is by far the worst one. Also even tho I "liked" the other party members, they ended up making me go insane because of how fucking much the glaze Lloyd. it's infuriating.
1.5(2)/10 fuck this shit fr.

At a modest $5.00-hr i'd like to pay felix films to help me unwatch the trash.

it had such a good premise. But lloyd had zero testicular fortitude for 12 episodes

The enemies were literal trash

Every non-main character was forgettable.

Animation, music, op/ed, totally useless

I hate to drop the hammer as a 2011'er, but damn.

1/10. I wouldn't use this anime as a torture device.

When Lloyd was always saying, I just cast this and that, all the time was super annoying. They did tell him but they should have changed it to an intervention where it changed his view of everyone elses power. He thought everyone else was better than him but that wasn't the case. It going on for the whole season was so bad. It wasn't even funny when they called it a joke at the last episode. Also dissappointed on the attitude of the Hero before Lloyd, Allen. There is no way someone with that attitude even becomes a Hero. It was a good thing he was kicked out. I liked the off characters a lot. They actually did improve their skills and was supportive to the main character. I could watch season 2 but without Lloyd saying he lacks power or anything like that. It was an ok anime.

Well, this show tickled that itch in my brain for an OP MC not knowing his own strength but being trained by one of the greatest heroes to live and then joining a party after being kicked out of the hero's party because of the hero thinking the MC was usless when in actual fact the MC was the only thing making the hero's party work well kinda itch.

But, I think I enjoyed how the S ranked party he joined was actually a capable and respected party even before Lloyd joins up with them which is a nice twist on the OP MC using carrying the party from the lowest rank up.

The final episode was so far a round ending for the story arc and a good conclusion of the story.

As the heroes could manage to flee from the falling air ship, they were once again confronted with the chimera. At least Claire managed to concinve the others to find a way to save all the monsters, that fusionated into that bigger threat. When Merlin enters the scene and denied Lloyds plan to use old ancient magic, he insists and still things that he can use his abilities and control them. This is thanks to his party members, because they always motivated him and improved his image of himself. As he was able to use and strengthen the old magic of Claire in order to save all the animals, he is successful also thanks to his overwhelming powers. However, this caused a kind of magical gate to open above him, through which he was driven into another dimension. There Sybil speaks with him about his powers and that he was the one that defeated the demon king with his friends, but at the end he used his life (like a hero) the resurrect all peoble that dies because of the demon kings final explosion. This scene shows that maybe Lloyd is something like the new hero that is able so use ancient magic and to save the world once again. After he is able to leave "this separate world", he returns to his friend (who are happy to see him again). After that the whole party goes to the capital city, where they got they long awaited audience with the king. This feels like the classic a classic end for this adventurer story. In the aftermath, Lloyd decided to stay with his party and to leave Merlin, what she what she gracefully accepted. It's also clear now the she is something like a star.

So far, this adventure anime remains a beautiful story that finds a solid and good (and hopefully not final) ending with this episode.

I liked the way they integrated Lloyd into the party and that's why I watched the show. Would have loved a romantic angle with Yui, Claire or Silica.

What a disaster of an episode! Nothing made sense! They jump off the crashing ship, and then two minutes later it teleports behind them or something and passes by them again, nearly hitting them? And the black hole that sucked up Lloyd felt sooooo convenient. And at the end, the group suddenly starts thinking that Lloyd is joking about not being strong, even though, in the past, they clearly understand that he actually believes it? And Merlin sheds a tear on the book, and then it pans directly upwards from the book and her face is nowhere to be found? And the size of the demon and its heads changes drastically between shots?

I liked this show and the party chemistry is excellent, but this abysmal finale will definitely knock at least a couple of points from my rating

Another kicked from party trope and the party members didn't have any idea what the kicked member did lol.

The characters are likeable but the story is pretty average.

The gap between the previous hero party to the new hero party is pretty big, they are super weak without the buff.

Looking at the fin end, it seems they don't intend to make new season for this.

Overall just okay.

I think it's bad, but I have to admit it entertained me, so it's a solid 5/10. The MC, his party, Claire, Seilon, and the villains were all pretty weak. The teacher and her backstory were the most interesting parts. I was disappointed that teacher Merlin or even the dead hero didn’t scold Lloyd for using forbidden magic so foolishly; he was basically about to throw away his life just to satisfy the little princess's whim of not wanting some monsters to die. Seriously? I really wish Merlin had given him a good scolding.

@LeonLanford this is not the first time someone think I've read the source material when in fact I'm anime-only. I'll take this as a compliment though. I thought it's quite obvious that when a character apparently died without showing his corpse and then mysterious character appear out of nowhere in the same place there's a chance that it's the same character, especially when the one who raise him always think "he reminds me of him" all the time. You've watch anime for at least 20 years you should know better than me that this kind of thing is predictable.

Id rate the show as good or 4/5 if not for one thing that kept bothering me.
They loved flashbacks too much.
Every episode wasted a minute or more on a recap of the last episode.
You could say its always been around in anime but its 2025.
This was created in a time when we HAD to wait a week or more for the next episode and since it was on TV, we couldnt rewind and there wasnt a Youtube we could go to, to see something we may have missed.
No. We are well past that time.
I may be watching the show on a 3rd party site but alot of ppl watch anime on streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Netlfix.
We dont need recaps when we can just go to the previous episode.
Shows these days dont need to try to fit 23 minutes into a time slot with the rest of the time alloted for commercials since commercials dont need time slots anymore.
These shows have no reason to not be a full 30 or even 45 minutes.
These writers and studios are stuck in the past.

@MadVandal Totally agree. Im like these arent puppies theyre dangerous monsters that would kill or hurt normal folks. Princess had no issues of lloyd almost dying just to appease her whims. Gave off anime original vibes since you had 2 hero class fighters do nothing to help and claire making things more difficult for no good reason.

I'd say 6 is a proper score, not sure it will get another season. If that was indeed an anime original ending then for sure wont be anymore

Bro literally risked his life to save...monsters. It's so stupid, these aren't docile, intelligent beings. I hope dog girl ends up getting mauled by a monster and dies. She is responsible for all the people who died from these monsters that she saved. S rank party remained jobbers till the end. MC gets a free out of jail card for no reason, not punished for being reckless and stupid. Comparing him to Sibyl is an insult to Sibyl ngl. Obnoxious and mid series.
