30 episodes for real?
I dont recall this arc is this long from the light novel.

@Ventus_S It also fully adapts Arc 6 and consists of 36 to 39 episodes, not 30.

Holy, White Fox is like the most workaholic studio i've ever seen .
Both arcs have so many combat scenes too.

@Ventus_S That's why new art style fits more for action heavy season. Director of S3 officially confirmed Arc 6 (Tower) to be fully adapted in S3.

3-cours = 36-39 eps.

Don't mistake it with split parts.

up to 30 is enough for arc 5 if they will also add the now highly relevant extra stories. but I doubt it.

that being said, less than 40 is not enough for arc 6 even if they skip the extras.

but it seems like they make the heavy dialogue scenes pretty quick, so who knows at this point.

A reliable leaker says that arc 6 will be included, even though there has been no advertising for it besides one key visual and some official character posts on twitter (arc 6 characters). Some reasonable people in the anime fandom such as Gigguk think it's too good to be true, which makes sense if you aren't a big re zero fan who is familiar with the leaks and how many episodes are usually adapted in a volume. But because of the key visual and the source of the leaks I am pretty sure its gonna be adapted.

I think we are going to be seeing around a 40 episode season. 4 episodes a volume and maybe 5 for some of the Arc 6 volumes. The first 96 minute episode covered 1 volume and was about 4 episodes of content, and it faithfully adapted even the more mundane beginning parts of the season. Anyone who has read the source material knows that if the episode count was something like 25 episodes while adapting both arcs, then the anime would be doomed. The leaker says that the episode count is "satisfying", on top of his statement that arc 6 will be adapted, which is why re zero fans are hopeful right now.

@Okeanix I don’t remember him confirming arc 6 though. But I do hope they adapt both arc 6 this season. If you have sources of him confirming it, I would be grateful though

@mawawile Director officially confirmed Arc 6 when answering questions during Premiere in Anime Japan.

@Okeanix Even before the director basically confirmed it, when Season 3 was first revealed the LN artist Shinichiro Otsuka posted a new artwork to commemorate it like he did with Season 1 and 2. That artwork contained Arc 6 characters which all but confirmed that Season 3 will cover both Arc 5 and 6.

However, I'm not sure if it's going to be one long consecutive season. I can see the first part only adapting Arc 5 and then the second part will release a few seasons later and will possibly air for 2 consecutive cours. Arc 6 deserves all the attention it can get. It's gonna be the most demanding part of the season.

i think it would be 3 consecutive cours , cause arc 5 dosent have an satisfying end like arc 4 , tbh its end was even more sad than arc 3 , ig first cour will cover untill arc 5 vol 4 (except its epilogue).

david production has done it .there many leaks of it, also white fox adaptation do rare thing a lot like having long episode, cutting ed a lot , many long episodes , so i suppose we should trust them for an good adaptation.
