| I was put off by the appallingly horrible chibis in the gameplay so I dropped the game on day 1, so unfortunately I didn't follow the story so idk I feel like fanart and doujin do not count towards having a favourite from a franchise. Once the anime is over maybe I will have a better idea about some of the girls... we'll see. |

chibis have gotten significantly better (probably because the girls are also so hot) i agree they kinda looked like doodoo at first but have seriously improved now
especially the two american choo choo twins 😭

I am still haunted by the wacky waving inflatable tube man shaped chibis running D: Honestly, I think that's a pity, because the game was pretty neat in everything else. The gameplay was fine, the mechanics were nice, and the full on visual novel story plus all the live 2d...if only. On the other hand there's also games like Counter Side where while they nailed the battle sprites, they managed to make an uninteresting story, obnoxious gameplay, extremely pay to win pvp that locks you out of a lot of rewards, and mostly unappealing characters...with the most lackluster JP dub I ever heard, there's even high profile VAs in there, and they still managed to give them a script that made them suck. If only Blue Archive had C;S sprites instead of chibis, probably it would've ended being my favourite game...lol Honestly speaking, I don't know why they chose to make 3d wonky chibis like that. Older games have way better stuff like, GFL's chibis are 2d and way more simplistic, but look heaps better. Azur Lane too. And I could go on. They went for a "unique" look yes, but uniquely bad for some reason. I am still completely up to change my mind if they rework(ed) the chibis drastically...I have an account around level 50 with a bunch of good pulls that I could use in that case. |
