Luffy because he's hilarious, and his superpower is really funny also. and he frequently does strange and surprising things because he's not straightforwardly a virtuous hero. He's eminently more relatable and easier to root for because more often than not his motivation is getting some damned meat.

Ashita no Joe has one of the best endings in anime, has some of the best characters and rivalries in anime kinda sad not many people watch it because its old

Not really. Gon is a great protagonist. He is better than most of the protagonists mentioned here. I would say he is in the top 3 from this list. His development during Chimera Ant Arc is insanely good.

Honestly, Shounen protagonists are almost always very bland. I don’t dislike Tanjiro or Gon, I just don’t think they’re good characters because they’re bland and haven’t been shown off as more than just a good kid with random superhuman abilities yet. I felt the same about Eren until late season 3 and season 4, but now he is great. However, I picked Edward Elric because, even though he doesn’t go that much further than just a shounen kid, he is pretty enjoyable and has more depth that comes from the tragedies he has faced and how they changed him.
