For me I really liked Noein: Mou Hitori no Kimi e. Aside from my brother I've never met anybody else who has heard of that show lol. | Ookiku Furikabutte is probably the best sport anime/manga in general. And there is no more popular sport series which is more realistic than it. Most people only know "not really" sport anime like Haikyuu (typical action shonen disguised as sport), One Outs (psychological and unrealistic) and Cross Game (more a slice of life drama). Oofuri really shows us the fun aspect/story of real sport. |

| idk if these will classify as non popular bt ok ; chihayafuru,bakuman and nodame cantable were the 3 i could think of rn,a lot of people sleeping on it,and also tsuki ga kirei,ping pong and place further than the universe,maybe they are a bit popular i think |

| Cells at work is the least popular anime on my list which I gave a high rating. The premise is absolutely unique and creative. Getting to learn some stuff while watching anime is pretty rare. |

| Hidamari no Ki went like 20 years without getting subs so it never had a shot of getting noticed but it is a criminally overlooked Osamu Tezuka series adaptation. The Big O outside of its stint on Adult Swim has since faded into obscurity. Picture Batman meets Bebop meets Ergo Proxy with a dash of Mecha thrown in because why the hell not. As you can see it is hard to put this anime into words. Also, its a Steven Blum dub if that helps sweeten the deal for ya. Casshern Sins is the story of an immortal being charged with the gradual yet ensured destruction of the entire world around him. If I had to describe the feel of the show I would say it is a quasi-episodic (think Watanabe works) non battle shonen/martial arts series version of Fist of the North Star meets the existential dread and themes of something like Texhnolyze. I found this shit accidentally in a Digi review. |
