So this race has nothing to do with stands or anything. It was just one man's dream. The question is, who is Stephen Steel in the big picture? Was he just the creator?

I've not finished the manga at this point but I hope those answers will be made clear later~

I think there's 96 chapters because it considers the last one to be 2 chapters. It was longer than any of the others.

Wow. On one hand, I'm sad it's over. On the other, this was amazing. My second favourite JoJo Part for sure - I still prefer Part 4.

Maybe when Steel Ball Run gets animated in the year 3000 it'll flesh out some of the more lacklustre elements, like the ending, which felt extremely quick. I wish Johnny would have reflected some more on the importance of his father showing up at the race, and for some information on what became of him after, but oh well.

My biggest gripe for this Part is Sandman. Set up like a crucial character, tossed aside and killed off like a meaningless one. The reveal of him being a stand user felt a bit jarring and didn't make sense to me in conjunction with the goal of obtaining the corpse, and honestly diminished the ethnic-related struggle that was central to his character by giving him this theoretically more "important" goal. Suddenly, in a single page, he went from a Native American fighting for his land, to someone who wanted the body of Christ, for uncertain reasons, which he discovered via uncertain means. It just felt sloppy.

Besides that, this Part was amazing. Top tier characters, Gyro is incredible, Johnny is amazing, the chapters are written succinctly but allow time to indulge in more emotional, perspective-based character dilemmas at the same time. Overall, a total masterclass of the medium. 9/10.

An incredible ending to an incredible story. Rounded up perfectly with no sudden ending, though I hoped to see Johnny arrive in Italy or England, the story ending while leaving the North American continent was probably a better choice. Felt like I was part of this journey due to how long it took me to finish reading, and overall, the art, characters, stand abilities, the religious themes, the portrayal of post civil war America and the "journey" make this story uncomparable to anything else, just like most of Araki's works. Probably my favorite JoJo part, topping part 4 and 5. Overall, perfection.

RIP Dio, RIP Gyro, hope to see this animated one day ;)

At first it took me a while to get into the rhythm and read the manga, but after a few volumes with Johnny and Gyro, I realized it was a good manga. There are parts where you feel confused or think you already know everything that will happen, like in the fight against Ringo, I couldn't think of anything about how they would defeat the enemy. Gyro's death might be thought to be just another Zeppelin concluding his destiny, but for me, Gyro was more than that. He was that unique character in the story that you like even if he does something stupid. The jokes and songs are excellent. Jojo is beautiful, what a beautiful manga. start: 07/12/2024 end: 2/05/2025 end.
