With October already here, the Summer 2014 anime season has now officially ended giving way to the new Autumn season. Japanese video streaming website Niconico Douga, which streamed some of the anime online, has ranked these Summer anime based on their viewer satisfaction ratings and have now released the final results. Here are the rankings:

37) Sengoku Basara Judge End

36) Glasslip

35) Dramatical Murder

34) Shounen Hollywood

33) M3 the Dark metal

32) Bakumatsu Rock

31) Tokyo ESP

30) Captain Earth

29) Rail Wars!

28) Argevollen

27) Blade Dance of Elementalers

26) Hamatora

25) Momo-kyun Sword

24) Persona 4 The Golden Animation

23) Ao Haru Ride

22) Free!

21) Black butler: Book of Circus

20) Terror in Resonance

19) Love Stage

18) Nobunaga Concerto

17) Space Dandy

16) Jinsei

15) Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya

14) Majimoji Rurumo

13) Sword Art Online

12) Invaders of the Rokujyoma -!?

11) Psycho-pass

10) Hanayamata

9) Survival Game Club

8) The Irregular at Magic High School

7) Aldnoah.Zero

6) Tokyo Ghoul

5) Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders

4) Locodol

3) Akame Ga Kill

2) Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun

1) Barakamon

Based on viewer satisfaction, Barakamon becomes the Summer 2014 season’s most highly-rated anime as it gets an average 71.0% AA rating in Niconico’s viewer rating survey. The anime has been quite relaxing and refreshing to watch and is not your average slice of life show and that may be why it takes the top spot. The anime has beaten out several big names in the Niconico rankings including this season’s most highly-hyped anime, Sword Art Online II which only took 13th place and only had a 23.7% AA rating. I guess people are still divided on SAO.

High School Comedy anime Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun meanwhile takes the unsurprising #2 spot as it continues to be one of the most highly-rated anime of Summer 2014 with a 60.6% AA rating, beating out fellow favorite Akame Ga Kill with its hilarious parody of shoujo anime characters. Akame Ga Kill meanwhile may not have received the high AA rating of the other two, however, it has made up for it with its great action sequences and interesting characters.

Another surprising entrant is #4 ranked Locodol which takes on the world of local small town idols and their mascots. The anime is quite relaxing with a very laid back story just like Barakamon and proves that idol anime are now on the rise.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

It's aight, it looks like a generic harem comedy and it has its fair share of cliche's but it was still a fun watch. Yurika is the only character of note in the show, she's awesome enough to make my favorites.

Even Mahouka is comedy after a certain point as everyone began to act like the sister, praising the superman brother and watch him performing like an angel and strategic weapon.

Lot of it is done in jest, I do that all of the time as well as others who have watched it with me. I can't say I've met too many people that genuinely do like Tatsuya overall. I personally find him the most bland of MCs we've seen in ages.

This season sucked. I haven't watched Barakamon.

Ao Haru Ride was like Kimi ni Todoke watered down,

Sword Art Online II is just as terrible as the Light Novel was, and will continue to be more forgettable once we get back to
and
.

Tokyo Ghoul had moments of clarity but mostly felt like a pathetic battle shounen with quasi-zombies trying to be edgy.

Tokyo ESP is basically an X-Men rehash with the story written for pre-teens in Japan, with decent graphics but nothing particularly else standing out.

Akame Ga Kill is basically a high school battle shounen, but replace high school with assassin's base and you've got the same picture, with slightly less regard for censorship than average.

Aldonoah Zero was probably the best of the season, but with annoying amounts of deus-ex machina , with mostly characters who weren't believable and the battle scenes were very formulaic; though the effects were nice. I say it was the best of the season because they hit emotional tones slightly well, the backdrop was interesting and the animation was fairly good. Otherwise I wouldn't gush about the "princess of peace turned into a realist" or "drunk who seeks redemption" as particularly amazing sequences.
How do people get to 2000 hours when I'm already this bored?

Akame ga Kill is terrible. The directing for it / animation / action sequences are complete ass. And it's just the author trying to make the bad guys super reprehensible so there's a clear line of good vs evil but it's not written in a remotely fun, or even interesting way. "This person is BAAAAAAAAD s/he TORTURES people and KILLSSSSSSSSSSSSSS them for really stupid reasons & or for fun!!! Can't wait until s/he dies! jk <3 u esdeath even tho u buried alive 400,000 people".

Barakamon had inconsistent comedy & some eps were flat out bad. Nozaki #1. It had flaws in comedy timing & forcing the characters into a role immediately, but it still maintained good quality was funny in each episode.

In reality AkG is just a social experiment to see if being hot & having large tits will allow the male population to forgive a ruthless murderer who has caused insane amounts of suffering.

Though I'm surprised with how well Tokyo Ghoul rated, since it was my biggest disappointment for the season.

Not surprised about Glasslip . . . I watched the first episode and had to drop it, it was just really strange; in a bad way, there is good strange.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun at #2, I have it on #1 with Barakamon on #2.

People just hate it because it was hyped up. JoJo and Akame literally have the same things..

Both battle shounen
Both having ridiculous villains
Both having moments of comedy although JoJo > Akame by far in this department
Both having large amounts of gore and fucked up scenes

One gets hate and the other doesn't.. I wonder why.
