Hey folks! I’ve put together a very loose decision making dependent group game! For those of you who are experienced with games or perhaps visual novels which features ‘paths’ dependent on your choices then this is forum game is for you! Survivors of the South is first and foremost – a ‘team’ game – you’re not out to kill each other, you’re playing together with those of you that sign up. Keep that firmly in mind before signing up as you will require to chat amongst yourselves, this isn’t a game where you can sit quietly throughout and hope you go unnoticed. You must contribute to the group for the game to actually progress! Active forum gamers who genuinely wish to participate are encouraged!
A set routine of how this game will play out
1 – I will present you with a scenario fitting to the backstory of the game that I've dropped below the rules, and one that ties in with the previous scenarios.
2 – At the end of the scenario, there will be at least three options of how to progress to the next scenario.
3 – The group itself must come to a decision on what option to take via voting. Know that once you have voted, you may not change your vote. Be mindful of that and choose wisely what you think is best for the group, not for yourself.
4 – I will check once per day to see if you have come to an agreement via voting on which choice you are going with. In the case of a tie vote with nobody willing to budge, I will go with the least voted upon choice in order to punish players for not compromising or at least delivering valid reasons to those that oppose them as to why they should jump ship and go with another option. Harsh, but fair in my opinion, I’d rather not randomly choose between the most voted options and create ‘factions’. That would also confirm who is wrong and who is right. It’s a team game, work out what’s best for you guys and come to a conclusion.
5 – Upon the end of voting I will move to the next scenario based on the group’s decision (example; you wish to enter a building from a certain angle, the next scenario will be that playing leading on to a whole host of choices(or sometimes lack of) and consequences. Know that some decisions can get your entire group killed, arrested, or even injured somewhat. Not well thought out decisions can instantly end the game. I will only add a few of these types of decisions to promote the length of the game, but they will definitely be in there. There can also be individual deaths/decisions. If a player dies his vote is no longer valid but he may still partake in discussion!
6 - The game ends if you successfully set out and complete what the backstory describes! This is a once-only game whereby I'll come up with a completely different story/setting for next time but keep the same rules and such :)
Rules
• You may only vote once on each scenario, think carefully before you throw in that vote. You must vote. The game will not continue without fully voted upon choices as I genuinely wish this to be a team game rather than a few members playing this out whilst the rest of the group sits back. Do NOT sign up if you don’t have the time to check the thread at least once a day and see what’s going down, or at least to throw in your vote. Your motivation to play= my motivation to host.
• There is to no limit to how long you have to make your choices. I will check the thread at least once per day usually afternoon/night time GMT and see if people have come to an agreement yet. If they have I’ll drop the next scenario there and then. But overall I’m setting no time limit on when you have to make decisions by. I will however, go back on this rule if some members of the group are obviously not participating in the game. Their votes will be ruled out as void in the future but they may still participate in the current game via discussion.
• All votes must be delivered in bold. To do that type [*b*]put some text here[*/b*] <--- in that format with the stars removed. It simply makes it easier to pick up when scrolling through a lot of text.
• Participate! This game is only fun when people are actually actively wanting to play it!
• Just because someone disagrees with a choice somebody else wants, it doesn’t necessarily make it wrong, or right, so keep that in mind before you fully flame them! Team games are ruined by this!
• Occasionally large choices will pop up, where there are more choices than three. You will be presented with one of these early so you're familiar with them!
Backstory
It's been little more than two months since the start of the apocalypse. The zombie apocalypse that is. Modern civilisation has since quickly broken down completely, leaving previously populated towns ran by skeleton crews of survivors. The Vacants, as survivors referred to them as, roamed the cities in hordes, some had even taken extreme changes and mutations to their bodies when becoming a Vacant. Tales of them that could fly, that could jump long distance, that had suckers on their feet fit for scaling buildings were rampant through the small network of chatter that spread throughout the cities. It was the evolution of these unique Vacant's which kept a lot of the smaller groups off the street.
It was somewhere during these two months when a small group of survivors were brought together in the heart of London, with little supplies and nothing but a whisper of sanctuary to the north. Where will their journey take them?
Key Info for the entirety of this game
[spoiler] – Zombies in this game have slightly blurred eyesight, they cannot tell whether you are another zombie or human at long distance so they choose to ignore you.
- Their hearing is slightly above average.
- Their sense of smell is unknown to the group.
- Mutant zombies characteristics are unique, so are ultimately unknown.
- Everyone has clothing suitable for winter.
- Depending on how long they’ve been zombies affects their general mobility and such. If they are a fresh zombie expect them to be able to travel effectively and fast, although without the basic knowledge a human would have. They are capable of running full speed but will not attempt to jump up a curb on a footpath for example. Zombies which have been around since the start of the apocalypse are what you would see in films. Slow, limbs falling off from deterioration, easy to deal with….
- Method of infection is due to physical contact which draws any amount of blood. Bites, scratches, grazes, you name it. It is unknown whether infection can be stopped via any type of medicine or...extreme methods.
- For the sake of the story start, assume you were magically dropped in here and have no specific knowledge of the current state of London. You know the layout somewhat, but are unsure of how the apocalypse has affected it.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
Well let's remember we can think about what to choose. If it's like choose an option it's a permanent choice. So look at others choices and choose something that compliments it or helps our group some other way.
First Aid was a smart choice Astros
not sure what chabe thinks three tents will provide in the long term...
nvm forgot we were a team.
guess martial arts was'nt too smart
Inb4 my crowbar breaks because of the rust... But if not, it'll come in handy. Oh, the cooking equipment will be useless unless someone has cooking knowledge.

Protection from the elements, you can only survive roughly three hours without some shelter depending on the elements.

We're traveling, where do you think we're going to sleep?
The sanctuary is to the north, if we head that way it's going to get colder.

F**k-motherin' PantsMan, that's who!
Hmmm... That pan is looking tempting... Very, very tempting...
Still, I guess I'll be your very own personal chef. Can't fight the apocalypse on an empty stomach...
My top pics for the next 6 items would be. Rope,Hacksaw,Smoke grenades,Cooking Equip, Cooking skill,Crossbow. The rope and hacksaw might come in handy somewhere, the grenades could be used for a number of things. Cooking is important in keeping us fed. We might be able to make or find arrows and they're more silent than a revolver.
Our team knows everything but has nothing. This is going to be painful.

It should be made note of but; Just because you have a weapon or a survival item doesn't mean you are efficient at wielding it. Only knowledge makes you efficient. If one of you were to find a katana somewhere down the line that doesn't make you a expert swordsman killing machine. That just makes you a dude with a katana who stands a better chance.

Luckily for us we happen to have a martial arts expert in our midst...
