the sudden change in animation was so surprising lol

the character design seems to struggle with some exaggerated features this episode

there's talk about past lives with wings interesting stuff

those winged myths around the pacific are pretty okay but I still think they lack mysticism

the only exception to weird design I can find is Sayo she's cute when she's reading

Now, that means the human evolved in 12000 years from "realistic" to very stylized?

Momohime personality flaw, is too chill and too balanced to connect with the 3 that have very apparent flaws.

The transition from a $5 blob slideshow to 120 FPS RTX on CG is not doing any favors. Especially if it's just the previous incarnations that don't even need to have mouth animations cause they're telepathic.

The animation truly is awful in every way. I had some hopes for the Mythic World realistic style, but it's obvious this whole animation department is a complete flunk. Just awful. Worst of all i'm left imagining better animators working on it and get angry. Aquarion has a lot of international fans, was this really necessary?

I'm liking the plot so far. They've put some thought into it. The whole Sayo death even is not trivial: the cause and effect of her death got reversed in time. She died in the EP2 battle, but her funeral was in EP1. No Fudo though so far, which is upsetting. Also there doesn't seem to be any connection to previous Aquarion, aside from the book.

More interestingly, they left us wondering what's momohime's missing emotion. She said the emotions of the other pilots felt "gross" to her. Is it because those emotions are in excess to her? My original guess was that she lacked love towards others, but i'm not sure how that would explain her reaction. Maybe because without love she can't really connect with others? We'll see

@Neneaux that was actually true in Evol as well, Mikage would often talk without moving his mouth.

@Amonimus Its not trying to be, the original Aquarion was pretty much Evaesque too, and SSSS Gridman felt very Eva too, its just a style of show.

Sayo is dead for real now isn't she? She died to early... Is the 2 sister she talking about is actually her own past life story? that red/pink hair girl in the OP must be her sister or something...

A CGI as their past life.... The ED only shown 2 male character... So, could Hatano or Rimiya is the short hair girl in the past life? Lol.

When Momohime said kimochi warui, Rimiya react... Is the Kimochi warui feeling is actually Rimiya having a crush on her? Ahaha.
