Yea someone corrected me on that on r/anime, but as I told them it really doesn’t change anything about my thoughts on this episode as that was minor compared to the Ishihara stuff. |

| As much as I hate Satsuki, I think she’s actually the best fit for him. But she’s still a fucking crazy stalker. The dream with her was fucking insane too dude The scene with the mom seeing the condoms literally made me cringe so fucking hard. Moron should’ve just sat there instead of getting up and knocking the bag over 😭 and it was so obvious something happened bc the bed was messy and she wasn’t wearing her clothes neatly. |

| Mom was brutal. Dumping the entire responsibility on Watari, pretty much asking him to back off, when it's actually her own daughter who has been coming on to him hard. If he backs out now and wants to be just friends, that's like asking to get dumped when the girl wants it that bad. |

| Honestly, both Yukari and Naoto got what they had coming in that episode. Last week I finally realized how much Yukari has been holding Naoto back, regressing him; in last week's episode I wrote "Naoto is very bang-bang-bam-bam, he's got his priorities straight and an ability to understand where the lines in society need to be drawn." Well, now I have to amend that slightly, but I still feel so validated for thinking what I did - Aunt Tamayo made it very clear in the ep that she'd rather Naoto slow his roll down, he's rushing and it's going to land him into trouble and Yukari sadly did just that. Mio Ishihara is absolutely right and meeting her has finally made everything about Yukari click; without motherly guidance she’s naive to the world and just let it roll all over her without any of it being properly processed leading to her now being too indecisive, rushing things because she thinks age is where things stop and end, and tactless, all of these proven in this episode. What was she thinking? Trying to rush Naoto into making love is probably her stupidest choice made to date, she's already pigeonholed him as not a pervert, can't be firm, and she chose the worse time to try and cross a line she drew a thick line on. Mrs. Ishihara is absolutely right, they weren't ready for it. Yukari is just trying to outpace Satsuki via shortcuts, Naoto wasn't mentally prepared to go through with it despite being supposedly prepared when in fact he too rushed into things, and Yukari neither tactfully hid her behavior and ended up making Naoto bare the brunt of the unnecessary embarrassment but also took him away from his commitment to Suzu. As an Asian I can confirm that Asian mothers are both your most annoying critics but are also the ones you need to call you out on your BS ideas about the world. Seeing Mio's design too made things click, both her and Satsuki have these more rectangular eyes, a physical indication of their world weariness compared to Yukari's round, wide-eye naive ones, a hint of her immaturity toward the world. It's true that she is a high school student, but her youth still causes her to rush into the wrong things that do not do her nor anyone caught in the crossfire any good, her decisions come at the cost of others because she has no tact in understanding what is socially expected of her decision making and she struggles to define where the lines are for both her and others in her life, leading to attempted actions that have consequences that she’s unready for. A much needed smackdown to reality. |
