The ending of Ori and the Will of the Wisps made me cry a lot for sure. I sometimes rewatch it on YouTube, and it still makes me cry every single time… What about you? Has a video game ever made you cry, or has it yet to happen? Or do you believe it will never happen?

The ending to Xenosaga 3 where Jin sacrifices himself so everybody can escape. Three games with the dude going strong in them, and that's how it ends. It was a heartbreaking moment and I still remember it even to this day.

Silent Hill 2 crushed my soul but I guess that's the game's intended purpose. I got the In Water ending in my first playthrough.

I did cry at the end of Rin's good end route during Akiba's Trip 2. I don't even really know why because her falling for you moment was pretty rushed and awkward compared to the rest of the girls, but I guess it showed a side to her that you hadn't seen before and I tend to cry more easier if I see someone else crying. I started to fall in love with her after that.

I legit cried a little when I finished Gran Turismo 3, not because the game was sad, but because the ending credits played "Lenny Kravitz - Again"

It was the first time I heard it, and it felt like a huge stress relief after the 200 miles Laguna Seca race that lasted over 2 hours.

I can't cry that easy unfortunately but the epilogue to The House in Fata Morgana might be the closest i've come to tearing up.

Backstreet Billiards on the PS1.

I know it sounds strange, but the end of the Story mode has a very touching monologue by the main character regarding his late father.

I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.

Zeros death in Mega Man Zero 4 made me cry so hard when I first saw it. This stuff was just so sad, especially when Ciel was crying after hoping Zero was still alive, only to show Zero's helmet, confirming he's dead. All she wanted was for him to come back safely and the last words she hears from him are "Believe in me.", only for him to die. This was dark and a perfect conclusion to Zero's story.

That is a good question. I have never cried because of a video game.

No I never cry because of vidya (or any other forms of entertainment).
Recently though Expedition 33 got pretty close.
The combination of storyboarding, cinematography (do we still call it cinematography when it's 3d animation?), script, music and acting (both the performance capture and voice acting, I actually played it in French but I hear English is just as good) just worked. Lighting in a bottle situation getting all these people together. And yes I know I describe it as if it's a movie but the cutscenes really were a very good postmodern film.

@Nette

Same with Crisis Core. Crazy thing is I had seen Advent Children before finishing Crisis Core, so I saw the ending coming, but it still made me cry.

A few of Key's VNs, Planetarian hit pretty hard
Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end

I remember Undertale's best ending getting 14-year-old me a bit choked up
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

The ending of Crisis Core had me bawling.

In FF9, when Vivi found out his origin really made me sad too.

Mass Effect 3 while not being my favorite in the series had specific moments that hit really hard. Some of the Yakuza / Like A Dragon games can have really emotional moments that are well done. And for some reason I think Persona 5 Strikers had a moment that got me.

The end of FFX certainly did even though its world was already tragic and the Legend of Dragon's ending certainly did, but someone had to be the tragic hero.

Libtards (including those Collective Shout bitches) and British bureaucracy sure cry a river over video games. The kind of punkasses that should stop crying immediately.

Who the hell cries over XXX games anyway? That or horror games being "too violent" for those punkass bitches.

Other than that, the end of Odin Sphere while sad, didn't make me cry myself a river. At least its apocalyptic ending was memorable.

London and Canberra getting ravaged like in the end of Odin Sphere would be thumbs up worthy for me.

tried playing The Last of Us a year ago but the girl dying in the beginning was just too much

had too many pets die in my arms and that scene ruined my mood
