I don't usually write replies in discussion threads but I've had this feeling since this season started. The animation just feels kinda off for me. It doesn't seem to be as "fluid" as the animation that David production gave us for the first and second season. Here is what i mean by that. In the fight against Burns, whenever Shinra and him would clash they would show the beginning of the animation (for instance, Shinra arming his kick) then skip straight to the moment of contact (Shinra's kick landing on Burns blocking arm) and then they don't move for a couple of seconds. The impact of the shock is conveyed through the wavering flames and speed lines. They've repeated this several times during the clash, especially when they were on the roof, enough for me to notice at some points. And this is not the only things i thought was off.

This may not seem like much (in fact, most people would probably not notice or care and that's fine), but it fuels bit by bit this odd feeling i have that this season's animation is not on par with the previous two seasons. At least it's making me scratch my head a little.

No man, you are 100% right and you sound like me when I just recently started to dwell into sakuga, its true like I am sometimes coping that it isnt that bad but I just watch season 2 and it was just too smooth, I mean they are habing production issues the fight wasnt that good animation wise lets just hope for the best of the animators and rhe production team

This season is a bit of flop, fight scenes aren't great, characters are being really annoying, plot isn't written very well :/

Damn, This was great. Feels great to not read the source material and just enjoy whatever the show throws at you. Reminds me of the days when I didn't read manga and was an anime only haha. Good stuff.

Damn that was intense!

Shinra despite the overwhelming power of Leonard was still holding it down. It seems that Leonard has dedicated his life to prayer, regardless of where those prayers go, and he’s acting as an immovable object in Shinra’s way, hence why Joker made such an analogy.

Shinra will just keep pushing and pushing, and because if it, Sho is slowly remembering who he is. Without needing the help from the Evangelist, Shinra is eventually able to overcome Leonard’s defenses by acquiring the power and speed boost from BLUE FLAMES.

From what I could gather, it seems that Leonard was simply testing Shinra and whether he had the capabilities of turning this world around and accomplishing his goals of saving it, but the moment was cut short by a Doppelganger (which I don’t remember what they are), but now the focus needs to be on saving Akitaru.

However, it seems like Dragon was about to COOK Company 8, and even Maki admitted that she didn’t have the capability to block the attack, but Dragon mentioned something about Divine Grace, and then the camera panned to Iris, implying that she’s the one who prevented all of them from dying.

Luckily Benimaru, I mean Moonlight Mask, has come now that the White Clad intend on killing everybody but Shinra.

What’s about to go down now that Moonlight Mask is here to save the day?

One of FF's strongest aspects has always been strong direction, you can definitely see it in this fight.

I guess just because Shou is moving around, it doesn't mean Haumea undid all her mind control. Still nice to see him again though.

Shinra getting grace again was rad! He really went all out on Burns. Even with a hole in his chest, I doubt he'll go down easy. Still what is up with those doppelgangers???

I'm so curious about who saved Maki and the rest of company 8 from Dragon's giant attack. If it was Iris, I wonder how exactly she did it... So much to explore!

Damn actually kinda insane episode nearer the end.

Burns vs Shinra was pretty aight fight, the animation was ok but i think the key take away was def the character ideology clashes. It was actually nice seeing some Burn's backstory for once as well as his powers that make him the captain of squad 1, pushing Shinra as well to go all out also made for a cool overall fight and the ending of a new pillar being revealed and a doppelganger Burn's Demon infernal was crazy back to back. Damn Burns dying was also not what i expected but shit was he a cool character start to finish.

Arthur being knocked out and Maki trying to block Dragon's attack only to realize it was impossible actually had me pretty shook, lowkey actually thought the gang was cooked but the impact frame last minute with Iris i guess is what saved them. Honestly a cool af scene but also raises a lot more questions about Iris, which judging by the intro she's going to play an important role this season. Hella want to know what Viktor saw as well, seeing something actually phase him like that is enough to strike concern especially if it's from Iris.
