We got the character appearance of Tessia this episode. To no one's surprise, Arthur is the one that reached out to help her.

This episode also kinda opens the door to reality that it's a cruel world with roaming bandits. It'll be interesting to see how much the relationship between Tessia and Arthur grows this season.

Arthur saving little elf Tessia from slave traders and even escorting her back home—it’s not like him, but it really shows he’s evolving as a person. The bond they formed was sweet, and you can already tell they’ve become fast friends.

The hornwolves following them added some tension, and yeah, it’s natural to be wary in that situation. But I had a feeling they weren’t dangerous—and sure enough, one even brought a boar as a gift for Arthur. Wholesome!

Now with Arthur entering the Elven Kingdom, we might finally see some pretty elves, though I expect some hostility. Still, he’s just a kid, so maybe they’ll go easy on him.

That said… those camera angles were painful, and the CGI fire was just ugh. Same dull backgrounds, same weak animation—it’s really just the story carrying this show at this point.

I keep giving bonus points for story, but the animation quality just doesn't carry it. I suppose that I should read the source material instead.

Damn, when I saw that goofy aah animated dog, it came down to me, that we are witnessing Biscuit Hammer 2.0 situation.
Both were critically acclaimed source material that received botched adaptation with especially bad animation.

I am surprised he actually killed those bandits, since the last one look like a very capable figher..

What's up with the ending? Arthur being arrest but Tessia just stood there and watch? maybe because he's a human so that's part of the "procedure"?

What will happen next?

I mean, he didn’t actually even begin to try though. And what if the “cute dog” ate Tessa? You’d lose respect in him then too huh?

Haven’t watched it yet but I’m hoping it’s good. Fingers crossed it’s a good ep.

After the disaster of an episode 2, I became disillusioned, but I liked this one.

It was fairly similar to the comic, even improved upon it with the mushrooms and wolf's gesture of gratitude.

Mid ep

The fight had like a decent cut of the knife being thrown with string but that was all besides slide animation and terrible cgi wolves as usual.

Nice to see the new character Tessia and that ending got be confused tho, l its obvious what will happen. Definitely getting explained next ep, besides that the ep was boring.

6/10

Story progression is good. But as usual, the fight scenes were disappointing. When the dog/wolf came back, it was an eyesore to look at because of the animation.

Is it too much to ask to add a simple fog layer to the Elenoir forest scenes? The magical fog is a pretty significant aspect even later in the story, making navigation extremely difficult for non-elf travelers. (Oop, wait, there was a tiny bit of fog right at the portal near the end, wow~ good job)
The director's attention to details that affect the long and short of the story is extremely hit-or-miss, prodding at major plot points that, frankly, they have no hope of ever adapting because this adaptation will be dead in the water after one season.
This is truly the epitome of the phrase "just read the manga/manhua".

@Saib_Shuvro I guess this is what happens when you get a experienced director and pair him with a studio that won't hold the source material up.

Never in my life have I seen a scene a fart in anime, not even as a joke and i've seen thousands of animes (completed+dropped) in my lifetime. This anime is just spreading sewage all over the industry with its terrible animation and bad adaptation, now even farting on it as a whole.
Edit: Naruto had a lot of those.

Honestly, the fact that pretty much everything about this adaption, the soundtrack, voice acting, and even the pacing, have all been pretty good makes this really sad to watch. All the effort is going to waste half the time because the animation production is unable to hold up everything else and instead brings it all down with it.

So I don't know the source material for this thing. We've already seen this scene 400 times. In terms of adaptation, can't they just speed things up so that we get to the point in the story where we want to tell something, stop in 2025, we've already seen this scene 400 times, we're sick of it. 70% or so of this episode serves no purpose, it serves no purpose. We've seen something at the end of the road that's going to come back later, NO!
There's nothing there, it's really the stupid episode we need to do because, ".... Oh, that's because it's written in the source material, so since it's written in the source material, we'll adapt it as it's written in the source material..." I'm sick of it. In fact, it's typical of the scenes we've seen 4,000 times that I have absolutely no problem with seeing slides. Everyone knows, everyone knows, everyone knows what's going on. We could go into the nitty-gritty of the story and drag it out like that. I remember a great story called Kage.... We managed to make arcs in 3 - 4 episodes. So arcs with questioning, problematic, explanation of the problem, attempt to solve the problem, then resolution of the problem and then everyone's out. Well, except Ard, who's still as poor as ever! And yet he's the head of the biggest company in his world without even knowing it! xD

The episode four was better than the previous episodes
it has better animation
At least the characters were moving this time
They finally introduced Tess it was not as good as the manhwa but it was still okay.
Overall it was the best episode so far
Even with the subpar animation

That tree portal wasn’t what I expected at all, πŸ‘€ lol, hopefully it gets better from here. I have to agree on the animation side of things lacking here and there a bit.

I completely agree the story is really holding this thing together and I hope it gets better with time.

That was an insanely slow episode for barely any value gained. World building….dont think I learned much of anything. Tess and Art’s friendship didn’t even seem well developed for the time spent. Seriously should have condensed this into half an episode with what little was accomplished.

Tessia is a cool girl. She might get along very well with Arthur.

They survived in the forest and now a portal has appeared. It might seem their escape. If it weren’t for Arthur, Tessia would have had big troubles.

I couldn't help but laugh at the wolves' faces: their goofy eyes made them look ridiculous. At this point, it's no longer worth complaining about the animation.

Arthur's fight against the kidnappers was pretty lame, but for me, the best part was the trip to Tessia's village, really funny. I highly doubt that Tessia betrayed Arthur; it seems more like a misunderstanding on the part of the elves after seeing a human. Overall, a decent episode.

If you have watched jobless reincarnation, you are probably also feeling the pain I am watching this. I wanted it to be good, like a pg 13 jobless reincarnation. Theres just nothing there. I’m sure the source material had more to offer than what we get.

Too many other good seasonals to keeping wanting to want to see the next episode. Dropping this before fomo sets in.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

@HansDevX Apart from Naruto, Made in Abyss and Haganai are the few that have added a fart, it is rare that they add that in an anime. Also Yo-kai Watch

@Leon888 It's literally average, compare it to any other mid isekai, there is no difference, I read the manhwa and there are many things this anime improves upon, such as the more serious tone and better sequencing.

Hell yeah as expected the elf childhood girlfriend unlocked as he saving her from the damn bandits. But how they wasted all the duration just for their interaction inside the damn forest kinda disappointed, especially since its almost half of the season already and i can't see any concrete idea how this anime gonna be at the end of the season. Heck even they dare to show Arthur adult or late teen? Even on this duration wasteful dilemma? Whatever that is, so idk what else to think of this tbate rather than such a truly letdown of an adaptation....

Ngl as a reader even ignoring the adaptation quality the pacing feels super off. Last episode we cut 4 months of time with Slyvia but then spend an entire episode on just the journey back with Tess???
