This poor symphonic band. It's almost like a tutorial level. Not for Otoha, though: they didn't realize it, but they just gave Otoha permission to "have fun" and "give it [her] all". It's so over.

What is the deal with Lilisa's mother? On one hand, Lilisa really cares about her and is highly attached, and I highly doubt there is any mutual conflict between the two. On the other hand, Lilisa's mother acted seriously scary towards Lilisa this episode. Actually terrifying. She brings up rock and the guitar as things that are "behind [them] now" and says to Lilisa: "don't embarrass your father and me". Based on this, I would guess that she does care for Lilisa though she really does not like Lilisa's real father, which would raise the question: what happened with Lilisa's birth father, and why does Lilisa's mother feel so urgently about to leaving him in the past?

@Vizvezdenec Yeah, probably lol Maybe my brain didn't retain the info about her mother being trash before x.x
@kumorikami well I'm more about Lilisa relations with her imouto, opening kinda makes what will happen pretty obvious.

What is Alice's problem πŸ˜” Lilisa didn't necessarily want the dignified life for herself. But I guess uh..

That mother's stare.. wtf.. mother traumatized from rock πŸ’€ just not fair for the daughter. Let her enjoy what she enjoys.

The yuri vibes continue to be strong as ever. I love it. Band must be female only for the lady aesthetic.

Let the band recruitment / official business commence. Gotta start from the ground up. Oh f the kitty... it screwed up their jam session.

Good episode a hearty mix of drama and comedy. It seems to me that this ones was a set-up for the next week's episode. I enjoyed seeing the younger sister's perspective of things, especially her anger towards her older step sister. I enjoyed the dynamic between Arisu and Otoha, its very clear both of them know they're places in high end society. I have a feeling the reason that Otoha plays the drums is a way to connect to everyday people. She's probably way more lonely that we'd expect.

Can't wait for the next episode. This is one of the few seasonal shows that I enjoy watching each week.

OP show that cat will become the band's mascot / president, obviously not an ordinary cat but a sentient one. Since the girl is Alice, cat is probably named Aria Pokoteng?

The feud between Alice and Lilisa (with her mother) invading the Suzunomiya family and giving them the noble treatment, the former still harbours resentment for the latter who's trying to be ladylike. Even the latter's mother reinforces the thought that rock and guitar are things of the past, though Lilisa would aim to juggle between them both. Furthermore, the band's requisites needing them to fill in both a bassist and keyboardist, though Otoha would be alright with just her and Lilisa sharing the musical love between themselves. And in a strange irony of twist, Alice petting a black cat, just as Lilisa is looking for female members to couple their band with, the former gets a rude awakening seeing her stepsister being something else that she really isn't.

To Alice's disappointment however, seeing both Lilisa and Otoha practicing their symphonic band arrangement instead, while the presence of Otoha alone captivates her, the insults from the real daughter is overshadowed by the ladylikeness of the stepsister, though she has Otoha to thank for the sudden change before getting back to their usual business.

The day of the symphonic band group Red Familia's live, both girls going undercover to help band leader Uekusa and his group, it's putting their faces first on the public stage.

It's the first live performance, so make it count, girls!

For now, just for me, the less we see of violins, home teachers, shifty faces / intentions of the mother and angry younger step-sister (unless she is dealing with cats), the better. Instead, still very entertained by Lilisa's fans misunderstanding everything, still treating her like a goddess, and forcing her to learn stuff she doesn't want to keep a perfect public image.

Damn, those innuendos about playing together... calm down, Otoha.

NO! NO! The sister discovered everything and is completely... yeah, as i'm writing this, she's completely blackmailing... WHAT? Lilisa isn't actually discovered, but Alice is still suspecting something. Still, it's cool she is good at bass guitar too, even if i wanted to actually listen to more drums and bass combined.

... oh, no, i'm concerned this isn't really the music event they expected. Even if, to be honest, they took it better than excepted... at this point i took for granted they went to a far locker room and yelled in terror. Oh, well, they're still in time for that thing after Alice accidentally turns out to be in the same place.

Lilisa's mom with those "dead" eyes! She's almost hypnotizing her daughter into "fitting in" by giving up on her passion. Just because mom chose a certain kind of lifestyle doesn't mean her daughter has no free will.

Come on now, that's just wrong on so many levels.

I wonder if the reason the mom really hates Rock and Guitar... is cause MC's father is a rock band member, but something went wrong and the father either died or ran away leaving debt with the mother and MC. (in which the mom somehow seduced a millionaire to get married into upperclass... mom's a gold digger) (which... in this scenario, I agree with the imouto that the mom is a liar/ manipulator and does actually intrude into her life)

.

Felt kinda sad for Lilisa... she's trying her best to keep her mom happy, truly a good caring daughter. Not only that, but Lilsa can be considered a genius, since she's able to learn many new subjects and make them look like she's already mastered them. (except for Violin, lol)

(girl can play different instruments, tho since Guitar, Bass and Violin are all derived from the same base instrument type, so it's not that hard to adjust between these to fit the music tones) (the main difference is the size. As most modern guitar has been changed to half-electric and no band uses the old style guitar with the hollow/ hole anymore)

.

Quite interesting that the 2 girl changed instruments superfast, LOL.

This really pissed me off. I had a feeling something wasn't right between Lilisa and her mother. And yes, it's been confirmed now. Her mother is a manipulative bitch who plays the victim to her daughter. Guilttripped her into quiting guitar.

The banter between lilisa and her classmates is getting old by now, and hopefully they won't do it too often.

Alice's actions are understandable. It's not like she hired a hitman or anything. at least four episodes in right now. Whoever called her a spoiled bitch needs some time to think. She's still a child! I don't care how mature you were in middle school, and I feel sorry for you. But don't put your standard on others. Especially if it's unhealthy.

Small detail, but I like when Arisu shows up at the venue with her friend in the post-credits scene, they're accompanied by two bodyguards. Usually in anime with high class prestigious schools with students whose parents are the top 0.1% of society, said students usually are walking around outside of school with no visible protection. Not that it makes or breaks the show of course, but it certainly helps in maintaining that prestigious-school image.
