Nico reuniting with Morihito in order to kick start this love comedy already had me laughing. Definitely understand why my friends made the Saiki K comparisons and the humor is definitely in that direction

Catchy YOASOBI opening that is super fun and showcases our hilarious witch Nico. Especially love Morihito and Nico's pairing from the beginning and Nico's reintroduction to living with him was literally glass breaking.

YOASOBI's catchy opening roped me into watching and the humor did not disappoint especially from when Nico and Moi reunite with Nico flying in through the glass slide door. Going to be a fun ride bridging me into the summer seasonals.

Banger 1st episode 5/5, bro went from Spikey Spikey to Shiny Shiny, still looks good though. Don't tell bro I said that. Also the preview was quite the unhingedl. The anime is wholesome, funny, magical, sweet, romantic. Seriously loved this episode.

I really liked it! One of the best anime starters I've seen from the last two seasons. I'm definitely vibing with that humour, and the animation is so nice. Nico is such a cute klutz and Moi is so cool and collected. But they are both good-hearted and clearly care about each other. It was a fun reunion, and despite the cliche tropes of suddenly living under the same roof, this was overall very well done and I'm excited to see how the story unfolds.

PS. While watching this episode I suddenly got reminded of Dark Gathering, and I wasn't sure why since the shows are very different, but maybe something to do with the way characters interacted. Turns out it's the same director! Similar animation flow, I guess, and the style behind the funny bits. Now this anime seems even more promising to me.

And that's how Nico and Moi reunited.
I saw this manga on Mangaplus, and when they announced the anime, I was curious.
I really liked the first episode; it was fun.
I'll keep watching it; Nico is very pretty.
The opening is really good.

Hmm. what's her name, Nico, seems like she might get on my nerves - and I like plenty of cutesy characters. I guess there was nothing too egregious here, but... relatively average start to this kind of series. I'll watch it.

It was a little humorous at least. The premise could bring good things. I have come to expect little out of this type of anime, but you never know... I also tend to disagree with the ratings other people give anime, so I'll give it a shot.

Uhm, I do have one minor gripe though, not so much about the content of the episode, but when anime is translated in both dubs and subtitles - they LOVE to change "Oni" to "Ogre" but considering both are "mythical" or "fantastical" creatures (and basically ARE the "same thing" - one name brings imagery of a big lumbering grotesque oaf of a monster, and while in Japanese mythology they're depicted as being basically that... in anime it feels awkward as hell. I mean... Benimaru. Even his original form wasn't a savage, he was just angry for good reason. Then he became the ultimate man's man, as well as a gentleman.

I thought it was awkward when they did it in "That time I was reincarnated as a Slime" too. It's just not a nice word, but Oni isn't bad.

Not really basing this complaint on much aside from opinion and my personal taste, I guess, it's not a huge deal, it's just always awkward to hear a word spoken in Japanese, while reading a word that isn't that word, in English. I don't understand why they didn't just keep "Oni" in the first place, in any translation.

...besides, and correct me if I'm wrong - but isn't there ACTUALLY some differentiation between an "Ogre" and "Oni" in Japan? I don't know my stuff THAT well, but like... I could swear I've seen numerous anime that used both terms. It's weird to switch them for no reason.

That is all... we'll see how this goes...

<thinking> ...maybe I'm just OCD AND a Grammar Nazi through and through... I can't deny the OCD part. Runs in the family.... hmmm... </thinking>
<thinking> ...actually... now that you mention it, Me, I can't deny the second part of that statement either... </thinking>

<...thinking> ...if I were Mori-something-or-other I would definitely be ok with living with her though. *wink* ... at least until my house burned down or something. I like cute, and she doesn't seem TOTALLY retarded, so... who can say... how long I'd think that, but she's ...ok, for a ditzy anime protag foil. Plus, I like pink hair in anime - because it's just cuter than other hair. USUALLY.

I WAS the only viewer of Naruto who actually liked Sakura - I think people were way too hard on her, because of how she acted when she was a kid. She came into her own - so you shut the hell up, lest YOU be held to your middle-school self's standards as well. NONE of you would survive unless you were ESPECIALLY timid and never did anything at all - and even then, I promise it wouldn't be easy</...thinking>

<still thinking>I recommend some of you actually do some introspection some time. You'll probably be shocked when you realize what you were like, haha. Just saying - I'm trying to be helpful. We were pretty much ALL brain-dead by adult standards, when we were the original Naruto cast's ages </still thinking ... though I suppose not anymore>

For now, I like the concept, but I don't understand why there should be side effects on his stupid magic, because then it's actually called a curse, and everything you do has repercussions, which is stupid. Well, it's in line with witch ethics if you do something by sacrificing something else or having trade-offs. It's not pure, unadulterated magic.

@PedroKarim64 I honestly doubt this anime is going to take itself that seriously.

...but so far it's been pretty funny, I'd have to say I'm enjoying it... as a comedy.

@Alpha-Methyl You're right, there's a lot of comedy in it, and we should focus more on that than on the seriousness of the story.

The art style was different during the scene with the delinquents at the beginning from the rest of the episode. It seems promising for a comedy. The first episode made me smile. There were jokes with setup. The prophecy and Nico talking about being alone making one gravitate towards dark magic is setting up for seriousness. I predict that Morihito is going to stave off the prophecy by Nico's love of him.

I initially never even heard of this series. But it caught my attention after I saw someone say it was similar to Rumiko Takahashi's works. Finally got around to watching it after putting it off for a long time. And yeah, they were right. This does give me some Rumic vibes. Especially the girl Nico, who's a bit like Lum in how she's so clumsy and loves the MC. And how the main characters live under the same roof. But it's still very different. Not as chaotic as any Rumic series. But I like it enough that I'll keep watching.

A Yoasobi OP? No way. I feel like they're doing more and more anime OPs after Oshi no Ko's success and I think that's cool. This OP definitely felt different than all the other Yoasobi OPs that's for sure.

Decent first episode. I like that it has a comedy focus. I hope it'll get better as it goes on with more characters and chaos.

Bibury is a really good studio and the animation once again showed up. Unfortunately, the writing for this show aka the manga isn't that good. I laughed once and the rest of the episode was mostly bland besides the visuals.

@PedroKarim64 Hehe, I watched Gintama through hundreds of episodes. They get super serious (...and it's great...) but the comedy is what kept me the whole time. It's ....juvenile but.... hilarious. #1 anime (for myself) that I feel the need to advertise to almost everyone. I sincerely hope you have not seen it, and do give it a try. It's ridiculous, but it's got the best of ...every genre... really... and I'm pretty sure it attempts ALL genres.

*cough* Gintama's manga writer or his publisher did not monetize this comment. Just so you know... *cough-cough*

You seriously go through 100 or so episodes of comedy (which is progressively funnier) to get to the first serious episodes ...but somehow I didn't mind, because I didn't think it was serious at all, from the start. It gets super crazy though - they take full advantage of you thinking it's just a joke. My cousin cried at two parts he said.

I probably could have too. Gintama took me by surprise ....regardless of the type of episode/arc.
