Anime "tourist" is the stupidest term I've ever heard.

I don't see anything wrong with anime tourism. It is very fine for me.

I don't really love the term because it's often used in a incorrect way, like to demean someone who has a slight disagreement with someone in relating to anime. I've been called a tourist before for saying that liking loli is gross lol. But there is a difference between being a casual and a "tourist." A casual is someone who simply likes and watches anime. A tourist typically refers to people who don't like anime or doesn't care about anime but only joins the hobby to change some aspect of it. They also tend to be the type of person to hate anime fans and the general culture around it.

All this language exists to do is to create infighting and an "us vs. them" narrative because some people are just that unwilling to see any perspectives that may even be remotely critical of a thing they enjoy.
This is extremely ironic coming from you. Half of your posts are literally just creating an us verse them narrative. Your so obsessed with creating an us verse them narrative it's in your signature after all.

@WaffleMaster89
I am only pushing back against the us vs them narrative that already exists on this platform. When everyone else is being actively hostile and exclusionary, they see any pushes against the status quo as "irrational". I am not the one actively calling people "tourists" and actively insulting minority groups for no reason
This post is brought to you by your local transfem gamer goblin. Will not tolerate bigotry and will fight against "anti-woke" sentiment to make the anime community a safer place.

@DesuMaiden well oc u would say that, you woke degens would like nothing more for us regular fans to just roll over concede & stay quiet so all your woke friends can worm their way in and start pushing your gay woke ideology & propaganda, start smear campaigns & use cancel culture

it's one of the many reasons why gate-keeping is important

@WaffleMaster89 Swish

I'm sure they'll continue to justify their actions while playing victim

@ItachiDeltaForce It's wild how quickly it spiraled into this; Western audience bringing their political bullshit into our Jap cartoons.
It makes all the fujoshi shit over crossdressing, Yuri and BL from back in the day seem tame. Like damn bro we had it easy.

@epidemia78 Are androids and ninjas and shit supposed to be photo models?

What's the trend? Of not having every female character face look so perfect it's actually uncanny? Do you believe every male character model out there looks like a dream coming straight from a nerdy girl's fantasies? I'm pretty sure most women don't dream about Mario...

Then there's the fact all these comparisons usually use the same 2-3 screenshots of the same 3-4 games because... well... cherrypicking screenshots and examples to make an inexistent point is an internet tradition. Here's Ciri's face from the same segment of the trailer:

Honestly it's very close to her W3's face. Same jawline, same chin, same nose, same eye shape. The lips changed a bit, but that's about it. I think what people see as "uglified" is just the change to her eyes and eyebrows color, and increased photorealism. Eyebrows' color does change one's appearance significantly. Being a witcher and mutating does change one's eyes' color, and can make their hair turn white. Geralt does have white eyebrows in the screenshots I found. The character is also supposed to be older.
Regarding photorealism (something gamers are asking since the advent of 3d games)... It's not going to make characters sexier. More realistic skin textures, the shadows under her cheekbones or on her lower lip's scar... Can't have your cake and eat it too.

I'm sure all the outraged weebs look like Johnny Depp when he was 30 and would instantly turn down W4's Ciri if she started hitting on them IRL... I mean, she's clearly "uglified" in that screenshot I posted 👀 I personally think her W4 trailer face is incredible and looks both prettier and more realistic than her W3 face... But it's not like I'll play the game anyway, I've never touched a Witcher game, they've always looked edgy af to me *shrugs*

@Deathko

I put together the Ciri comparison myself and there was no cherry picking involved. The pic you posted looks just as masculine. It'd be one thing if she always looked this way but they don't even look like the same person.

Not the same, casuals go about their ways watch anime and either enjoy them or not and move on.
Tourists watch, dont understand and then like to tell everyone they are wrong, its shit, author/audience is X Y Z.
Remind me a bit of newer accounts with random reviews with 2~3 episodes watched and like to assume a whole lot about it and they are just retards that like to tilt everyone else.
