| @V2K Unforetunately, the third season dub was outsourced to NYAV Post, so that makes it less likely for Crunchyroll to go through the effort of dubbing it considering their big drop in dubbing expenditure and outsourcing throughout 2023 (in 2022 Crunchyroll had 142 dubs, in 2023 we will be lucky if Crunchyroll ends up having 100 dubs). If they do end up dubbing it, it will most likely be for a potential blu-ray, which won't happen before January 2024. ---- One Piece (Episodes: 1001-1012) is now available to stream on Crunchyroll! This excludes shows like Boruto: Naruto Next Generations which was dubbed by VIZ Media (231/293), One Piece which was dubbed by Crunchyroll (1012/????), The Prince of Tennis which was dubbed by Crunchyroll (128/178), and Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Final Chapters (1/2). Additionally, keep in mind that this only counts shows from when they were finished. Plenty of the dub from homes were stretched out between multiple seasons. Also, this isn't including theatrically released films that haven't yet been released in physical or digital formats, like THE FIRST SLAM DUNK, Psycho-Pass Movie: Providence, Suzume, and Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night. Lastly, this list doesn't include the many special episodes/OVAs/recap films/etc. that get dubbed. It's just for TV series and movies for the most part. This also doesn't include "adult anime." Remakes and reboots are allowed as well as ONA series and OVA series. There may be a couple of exceptions, but that is the general rule. So far in the first 3 quarters of this year, there have been 138 completed dubs. Last year there were 178 in the first 3 quarters. So 40 less is pretty bad. Out of curiosity (and also personal use), I decided to note the average wait time (in weeks) from the 1st ep of the sub, to the 1st ep of the dub. I did this for 60 different animes (Fall 2021-Summer 2023), with sequels and new shows included. This does not include all the top shows, only shows that I watched or thought about watching (but it's still a good sample size). Here is the graph: For the record, out of 60 animes, 48 of them got a dub within the season. 5 of them ("13+") came after the season, and 7 of them never received a dub. |

I have noticed a trend in delaying final episodes like The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Season 2 Part 2, The great cleric ...etc in the past few weeks any one know what's up with that?
| @z2k From sources I have its due to the switch over between new and old dubs or delays in some materials from earlier in the season that had a knock on effect for the end. I.E The directors etc have to ramp up, plan, cast etc for this seasons dubs in order to meet the ideal 2 episodes behind the sub timeframe so it leads to potential delays of a week in the finales of some shows only so many hours in a day after all and ramping up for new shows takes a lot of time and work. Apparently there working on ironing it out. This season it was more notable than past ones due to it being Summer and folks taking short breaks before the new season started so it had knock on effects. |
