Finally, time to slay some goblins again. Been forever since I've seen my man, the legend, the goblin slayer in action. First episode definitely made me wanting more, though that red-haired boy is a bit annoying so far.

the art has really gone downhill and a lot of the voices are different, its pretty jarring if you just rewatched the original. I also don't really appreciate the idea of splitting the party to help some random jerk

I rewatched S1 and the movie before this episode, and the new visuals is jarring. That rookie mage is super annoying, he's like the worse ill-fitting character in this series to date. Even the rookies who got killed in S1 were way less annoying than this brat, who's no doubt a sibling to the mage who got wasted in S1, I'm guessing since they look alike.

I don't mind S2 being less dark in tone than S1, but this rookie mage and feel of things is kind of overboard. It feels like an immature isekai/fantasy anime now, rather than the gritty realism of S1. I'm going to guess it's the studio change, and them not knowing how to do it, so they did it like any other isekai/fantasy instead of what S1 was actually like. They should have stuck with the original studio to keep it the same.

Also, why did GS say the landlord was cow girl's father? I could have sworn in S1 cow girl said it was her uncle.

People still has something to say about goblin slayer after everything? Alright. Also, that kid is annoying af isn't he? I get wanting to go after goblins he probably has his own reasons but why is he antagonizing everyone? And his voice too. That voice actor's voice is overused I'd say. She's always the one voicing teen boys.

In case you didn't watch season 1 let us replay probably the "worst" part immediately for you so you can once again "enjoy" these children being killed and raped.
I gotta admit though with the opening songs, it's some of the most high quality English lyrics compared to most anime. Usually when they use different languages it's not that great but this is pretty good. Did the feathers on his helmet get longer? how.
Also I gotta say they never re-addressed the whole "let's actually train rookies before we sent them to their death" topic in season 1. Like they wanted to set up this thing where retired adventurers would share their knowledge with noobies. But they never actually did that in season 1. So I do appreciate them addressing that because like I pointed out in season 1, I largely blame the guild for just letting those children take on that quest with 0 actual knowledge and experience.
Lol his logic for not teaching the kid was weird. But he kind of adopted him instead lmao, my guy is like Batman at this point collecting children/orphans. Like it so far though.
