| Spring 2023 Stats Released Dubbed Anime - Spring 2023 Finished Simudubbed Anime -Spring 2023 45 Total Dubs Completed - Spring 2023 28 Crunchyroll Anime 4 Netflix Anime 4 Sentai Filmworks Anime 3 Disney Anime 2 Discotek Media Anime 1 GKIDS Anime 1 HBO Max Anime 1 Toei Animation USA Anime 1 The Pokemon Company International Anime Final Statistics for Spring 2023: In Spring 2023 there were 45 English Dubs completed, which is way below the average 61 anime per season that 2022 had, but at least it's slightly better than the 41 anime that the previous season had. There were 13 Released Dubs and 32 Finished Simuldubs. There were 6 dubbed films and 39 dubbed shows (only anime titled as a movie on MAL are considered films, and the rest I am considering shows). Spring 2023 shows (not films) had the equivalent of about 112 normal length released dubbed episodes and 530 normal length simuldubbed episodes (= 642 episodes). For those wondering where the monthly stats posts went, I decided to list the monthly stats here instead in a very compressed way. April 2023 - 5 Released Anime + 22 Simuldubbed Anime = 27 Anime May 2023 - 4 Released Anime + 4 Simuldubbed Anime = 8 Anime June 2023 - 4 Released Anime + 6 Simuldubbed Anime = 10 Anime Just as a side note, I only included entries here that were fully dubbed, meaning that all the episodes in the MAL entry it corresponds to were dubbed. This excludes shows like Pokémon: Aim to Be a Pokémon Master which was dubbed by The Pokemon Company International (7/11), Boruto: Naruto Next Generations which was dubbed by VIZ Media (231/293), One Piece which was dubbed by Crunchyroll (976/????), Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai which was dubbed by Toei Animation USA (75/100), Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens which was dubbed by Konami (78/92), Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor which was dubbed by Sentai Filmworks (15/26), and The Prince of Tennis which was dubbed by Crunchyroll (128/178). Additionally, keep in mind that this only counts shows from when they were finished. Plenty of the dub from homes were stretched out between multiple seasons. Also, this isn't including theatrically released films that haven't yet been released in physical or digital formats, like Lonely Castle in the Mirror, Suzume, and Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night. Lastly, this list doesn't include the many special episodes/OVAs/recap films/etc. that get dubbed. It's just for TV series and movies for the most part. This also doesn't include "adult anime." Remakes and reboots are allowed as well as ONA series and OVA series. There may be a couple of exceptions, but that is the general rule. So far in the first half of this year, there have been 87 completed dubs. Last year there were 116 in the first half. So 29 less is pretty bad. What's the cause of such a decline? Well, there are a few reasons which brings us to the "awards" section of these stats. Funimation/Crunchyroll alone had 73 dubs in the first half of last year. This year, Crunchyroll in the first half only had 52 dubs. In addition, there were zero backlog series dub drops and no new series blu-ray dubs. While that's a pretty bad drop, there's still one licensor which had an even more disappointing year so far. While Sentai and Netflix also had a slight drop this half year compared to last year, 8 to 6 and 14 to 11 respectively, there's still one licensor that made sure to make an unbreakable record. Aniplex of America released ZERO completed dubs in the entire first half of 2023! Congratulations!!! That record will never be broken. Stay tuned for future seasonal dub statistics, which will hopefully be better than the last two seasons! |

No way to tell if we will get Backlogs from CR other than wait and see there is no set number or amount nor are they guaranteed / owed to us each anime season regardless of what some impatient spoiled children continually spam on official casting annocuements and in dub communities. All comes down to how much resources, money and staff they have. I mean CR is at present is dubbing at least 20+ shows this Summer with currently 2 being same day dubs, there's only so much that can be done from a resources and financial standpoint at the end of the day in terms of dubs. We will most likely get a backlog dub from Aniplex of America this Summer that being 'My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999' since they announced at the shows panel and English dub is in the works for it. 'A Place Further Than The Universe' nope no update still waiting for AnimeLimited to annocue a release date for the home release for it which they haven't. There last response to questions on it is 'Its coming when its ready'. |

| Crunchyroll has officially announced their acquisition of Psycho Pass Season 3 and its sequel film, coming to Crunchyroll later today, though not with the English dub. Crunchyroll has officially announced their acquisition of Psycho Pass Season 3 and its sequel film, coming to Crunchyroll later today, though not with the English dub. We probably shouldn't have to wait much longer until an English dub appears though. Hell yeah! Knowing CR they'll probably decide to dub it sometime after the movie, holding out hope! |
| Just FYI regarding 'MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES' English Dub Episodes (See Here) TLDR; Aleks Le got sick and has been taking time off from cons, work etc. to recover. Episodes should resume in a the near future once he is better. Reminder this dub is payed for by Aniplex of America and done by BangZoom who have rathered delaying dubs when staff are sick / ill rather than voice matching like Crunchyroll or HIDIVE tend to do. That change was done months ago across most of CR's platforms think it was rolled out to the few hold outs over the last week or so. You change audio directly from the video player now like every other streaming service by selecting the little cog icon on the player and selecting the audio you want. If you dont have the option contact support. Overall however most of the issues at least on the platforms that have had it for months have been sorted out. |
