| This story tries hard to draw from actual sources of martial arts and more importantly swordsmanship, but then of the most important concepts of zanshin or remaining spirit, or showing awareness of your opponent after your finishing cut is simply not present at all. This was bugging me from the very start, but Senta's flashback of impending doom made this even less enjoyable to watch. |

| Nah, man. Again? They did exactly the same thing when they killed off Tenza! Senta barely received any focus till this episode and the moment they finally decide to give him some characterization... he gets killed right in the next scene. Not to mention both Asaemon deaths involve the exact same aspects of "self-sacrifice" and "dying protecting a loved one"... Man, I can tell author was feeling kinda lazy while writing this Senta dude. And what's with Sagiri and co. casually talking while having the ominous "corpse" of a supposed God with regeneration powers just a few meters away? Why didn't they leave? So stupid... Pretty bland episode overall. Fighting-wise, I was expecting more from Senta given that his ranking was purposely never shown till now and though him finding a muse in Yuzuriha was indeed interesting, I couldn't help but feel extremely disappointed with the way his character was handled. But well, at least bro died protecting the eye-candy that is Yuzuriha so we can have more sexy shots of her in the finale. #respect As for Yuzuriha and Sagiri, I actually liked the synergy they both showed while fighting. No idea why Yuzuriha's poisons resemble cum so much or why Sagiri feels so exhausted by just breathing but I hope the finale can at least address one of these topics before the season ends. So Mu Dan confirmed that the Tensen lied to the villagers about entering Horai, huh? Interesting. Now the idea of "mastering Tao via sex" being another made-up lie doesn't sound so absurd anymore... |

| I was all in on this episode and actually enjoyed how it felt the plot may be advancing through learning about how the enemy can be killed through the use of tao etc. but that ending felt like such a cheap blow. I get this wants to keep the stakes high but until I see further this just feels like a never ending battle and not in a high stakes way, it will become tedious if not handled well. |
