gswelcome said: if you say this anime is 6/10 then it means all generic romance like horimiya, angel next door, my dress up darling, tonikaku and the others romance below 5/10 because there's not a single romance anime this year that's better than danger in my heartI don't understand the sudden love for this anime, I found it to be overall cringe and mid. The first 3 episodes were terrible, was a struggle with myself not to drop after that 3rd episode, Kyou and his emo murder fantasies and Yamada and her ditzy nonsense. Those 3 boys in their class were even worse with their juvenile pervy discussions. It got a bit better in Ep 4 (or less bad maybe) as the more annoying personality traits of these characters was smoothed over some (the murder crap just vanishes, gimmick premise confirmed) but for me I was still left with a completely useless male character and a female lead who I am surprised can breathe on her own. I suppose it was different to see a girl in this type of show forcing meetings with her crush and being super obvious about it so gets caught immediately. Of course since Kyou is so pathetic he can't imagine what is actually happening and just stares at the evidence with that dumb look on his face. Our MLC has to be one of my most hated I've encountered in romance and it really made it hard to care about this show. Even in these male wish fulfillment shows I simply can't fathom why Yamada would go for this guy. Yamada herself did grow on me a bit more, her stupidity did scale back so the standard shots of her smiles with shiny backgrounds so Kyou can stare at in amazement hit me the viewer just a bit as well. I still find her to be subpar compared to other FLCs though, animators can make her look as cute as they want but need something behind that. One of the things I like in these type of shows is the fun that can be had when the supporting characters realize what is going on and this finally happened in the last few eps with Kyou's sister and Yamada's friend and I got much of the enjoyment that I received from these two. Helped bump up those last few eps into something rather decent. Problem is it was too late for me to care. I temporarily smiled seeing them give those two the thumbs up and then basically seeing them get together (i think this show could end now though obviously won't) but then I recall the slog of the first 9eps and then simply shrug. Think I'll rank this a low 6/10 around Kubo. That one was even more generic but also didn't have annoying elements like this had so its a wash. |

I loved the episode, I would say this is the best episode of them 12. A lot of wholesome moments I cant even begin to explain. A lot of people didn't watch the anime because the title or maybe the first episode wasn't to their liking, but give it a chance. It will truly shatter your expectations. |

And your wall of text is also just like your opinion, man. Toradora fans shouldn't make claims on other romantic female protagonists, since they believe that the perfect girl should be violent, loud, unable to communicate and a complete useless being sucking money out of daddy's pocket to live on their own after they had a fight because of daddy issues, not to mention a complete mooch and useless at cooking. The beauty of Yamada comes from her innocence and how she grows up in baby steps. She shares her treats later on with Ichikawa rather than wolfing them on her own. Her relationship with her circle of friends is quite balanced, but also she manages to smooth the surface when Chii-chan is just being picked up by playboy kun in order to get to Yamada, all that without making a ridiculous melodramatic scene. Her little flirts on Ichikawa by the mid point is also quite endearing, it writes her as a woman that knows what she wants without being a total doofus and blurting it out on the open. Ichikawa is just amazing as a rmance male mc, because he comes from an almost negative staus (below zero) as some cringelord infatuated with murder mysteries. But that was only on surface level and it's a "phase" he grows out quite quickly. His ability to diagnose his surroundings and himself is a trait I certainly haven't seen on other romance protagonists. Last but not least, his "unnintentional" rizz moves are great (like that moment he tells Yamada that the only thing he sees it's her) Most beta romcom protags don't have this level of engagement until they finally confess to their beloved. |

Man what the frick? His sister is so wholesome, she truly care with her little brother. I can't believe too with Kyo's room scene. With just a single kaboom, he perfectly counter all Yamada tease before, and i lol'd hard there xd. That's how things moving fast on around them, even if Yamada still politely decline the possible ended up, because this still not an h-show, right? All in all, its good to know Kyo's moving on from his chuuni thought thanks to Yamada, but inside he acknowledged that its still his identity. Yamada don't mind the cringe about it, truly a good big girl, and i really don't wanna let the anime to end with that point yet. So yeah pretty glad theres an announcement about the second season to finishing all my bummer. Starting out with sucks, they moving forward with a great entertainment, ended up with such a good mood. I slam this show to my great list! |

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to like about this episode, i like Kyo's sister but can't help but feel like like she just interrupted Kyo and Anna's date. Atleast Anna gets to know Kyo's Family. The hug is definitely emotional, but somehow feels like the hug feels like both romantic and sympathetic? on anna's part. But that's just my opinion. |

A New Years encounter and visit home with Yamada to end the first season of this lovely little series. You know, I've said it before and I'll say it again I'm sure, but 2023 really is shaping up to be the year of the romance anime. In the Spring Season alone I must be watching at least 5 or 6, and 3 of those I loved enough to start collecting the manga. This is the first of those 3, and probably my favorite of them so far. I found the budding relationship between Yamada and Ichikawa to be so so very feel-good, so wholesome to watch unfold, that I actually bought and read and now own the first 5 volumes of the manga after watching half of this series. That was kinda weird, tbh. Never before have I watched half of a season of a show blind and the other half knowing what was coming. And this ended after Volume 4 so I already know what to expect from the first few episodes of Season 2. I can't wait to watch it and continue the manga when we get the next volume over here too. Solid 8/10, and a good chance of making my Top 10 list at the end of the year. :) |

i had almost dropped this show around 3 or 4 because i couldn't stand the other classmates and it had a lot of intended cringe moments and Ichikawa kinda sucked so the only thing i liked was how quirky yamada was then past the first half it started to really pick up with it's cute moments ,think this had a better run time than Nagatoro which took 2 seasons to get to the level of wholesome-ness we got here while still in the wish fulfillment loner dating the super model the amount of progress was huge and i can already see some change in Ichikawa so i'm very much looking forward to more what a huge pivot this show had flat 8/10 it has the leg up with all the good spring romcoms simply by yamada being yamada and all the visually striking scenes ! funny we made fun of the bad visual art last year promoting the show |

Overall, an enjoyable show. The plot synopsis is a bit misleading though, the MC only feels bloodthirsty for a few episodes, then it just devolves into a bit of a generic romance. I liked it, but you might have seen something similar already. |

"I Want to Be Seen." The show overall is quite touching, but this episode in particular really did it for me. Both Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada have managed to sneak their way into my heart. |

I like to think that it works out for these two kids. Yamada has her modeling career and Ichikawa works as a profiler while also writing manga. He finds some success with murder mysteries, but his most successful manga is Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu 🥰 |

A bit of a difficult ending. The tricks and complications it pulled out of the hat were not of the best variety. But the relationship between the two main characters is so strong in terms of drama that it carried the story through all the weird little choices and moments that didn't help plot or characters. There wasn't a real climax. Character arc was scuffed. It was all too late, too rushed, thus lacking impact and meaning. A bit less flirting and comedy in episodes 9-11 and more character development would had saved the dramatic structure of the finale. (You really mention two new characters, key figures to his flaw, in the last episode? You are out of your tiny mind!!!!!) Manga adaptations are notoriously badly structured as they don't plan a whole story during the creation of the manga, but something that is endlessly serialized, in the best case. The job of the anime studio is to take this unstructured mess and make it make sense in a 12-episode format. This didn't really happen here. But an attempt was made.. As it is, we had an okay anime with a botched ending that nonetheless promises a fun second season, as the foundations of the story remain strong. An acceptable 6 out of 10, overall. |

Bad start, picked up midway. Was hoping for more romance like a confession or something. Hopefully S2 redeems this |

What make this show good is it represent the middle schoolers life perfectly, they're cringe, a little horny but also wholesome at the same time. Also there's an actual progress in their relationship and their interaction didn't feel forced like any other romcom. Definitely one of the best romcom in the last few years,10/10 |
