| Well, we all knew this would happen sooner or later, however, if I were a traitor scumbag like Rachel, I'd at least rely on him as long as possible and then betray him. |
| There it is, it finally happened. Tower of God season 1 in the webtoon is easily a 10/10, and they capped it off with a massive Rachel betrayal. I've forgotten how many cool characters they introduced in this arc, the entire Yuri squad, the Wolhaiksong badge that Yuri asked Ship Leesoo to pass on to Baam (Urek hype!!) and Hwaryun is there too. We also got to see more of Yu Hansung and Lo Po Bia Ren, even though Yu Hansung is shrouded in more mystery than ever. |

| Overall this is a badly written story. And a really great setting. With fairly decent care taken to its environment. The designs are interesting and almost never duplicate. The true joy is in their journey. Or would be. If relatively speaking it ever progressed past episode one. Now we are right back there. No amount of superior animation, or production value. Is going to make up for that shortcoming. At this point killing off the lead. Would be a great idea. As its a shame this world of theirs. Is wasted on him as a foil. Everyone else was carrying his weight. They had developed a rapport. And substance to his self as is. Was being drip fed by their accomplishments. Which was the salvation to this failure. Then this occurs. Just an unfortunate allowance to even greenlight that by the publisher. And I doubt this production would have gotten approval. To actually change such a core issue with thr plot. To better the overall presentation of the work. Its a hard ask. I understand that. Really kind of pity the team who did a good job. Even in spite of likely understanding what would come about. Elevating those episodes that came between 1 and this one. Knowing how it would play out. Good on them for showing quality. When otherwise clearly constrained by such a detriment. |

| Damn, now I see why a bunch of people dislike Rachel as the hate has been alluded to in past episode discussions. I wonder why the heck she did that as her being able to continue climbing the tower is because of Yoru (I mean if she doesn't like him and doesn't want his help she could be more vocal about it but I digress). It was nice to see Yuri again and her willingness to help Yoru out before his friends & director (I think it was the director) told her to not interfere. I'm hoping that they meet up again once Yoru gains his composure and somehow conquers this test. |
