What a journey this anime was. Fell behind after like episode 6 but getting caught up binge-style was such an experience. The mysteries, the questions and revelations, the cliffhangers, the beautifully animated action sequences. Waiting week by week would have been hell lol.

Some people might find the happy ending that undid all the bad shit wack, but I liked it. They all deserve a peaceful happy life after everything they've been through lol. Thanks for the crazy ride, Summertime Render. It was a great one. One of the best mystery anime in recent memory and easily one of my highlights of the year.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

This show was fucking spectacular. This is, without a doubt one of the best animes I've watched this year. 100% going to be my top contender for the best show to come out in 2022. The only bad thing about this show is that I'll never be able to anticipate every week waiting for this show ever again.

Overall, amazing. Nothing more to say. 9/10

It's been Great journey. There wasn't much pre-release hype plus Disney jail still gave it a shot ended up exploring an amazing Time-loop story(probably best in anime after Steins;gate and Madoka). Easily contender for Anime of the Year. Final score:- 9/10

To be frankly honest, I think it ended a little too nicely for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I'm very satisfied in the sense that the characters got their happy endings and whatnot, but that rendered the time travel and sacrifice aspect quite a bit so I'm a little bummed by that.

Ushio spreading the word of Shinpei's return but trying to keep up her cold game in front of him by addressing him as "Ajiro" was kind of funny and endearing at the same time. Add the ED 2 theme song in the background and the fireworks from the matsuri scene, and what else could I ask for lol? It was nice to see Sou-kun take his chances too, credits to him for mustering up the courage to do so. Seeing Ryounosuke become a full-fledged adult and have a daughter named Haine shook me for a sec but thankfully there wasn't any deep meaning behind it (or at least what I'd in mind). I was surprised to see someone resembling Karikiri-san though, is that like a grandson who looks awfully like his grandfather or something? Don't think he could've survived that long, otherwise.

Regardless, it was an enjoyable 6 months of viewing. I watched the entirety of Deen's Higurashi adaption in Summer '20 and I was very impressed with that. Didn't think there'd be something similar to it airing in modern times, so it was a plus in that aspect too. Some of the early and mid episodes of this show were easy 9/10 quality though. Got to thank the wonderful staff and everyone working behind the scenes for making this experience a reality in animated form.

Solid 8/10 from here.

I think Haine being Ryuunosuke daughter has some meaning at least, you see, Ryuunosuke was the first person Haine killed before she split. She took the boy's life and later the boy gave life to the girl.

if that makes sense lol 😂

They showed shinpei's parents. Look at the last two people when ushio was carrying the poratble shrine.

didnt expect the perfect happy end, like, at all lol. maybe thats why it feels a little off for me. like, "thats it?" kinda thing. it feels like im watching too good to be true headcanons for a bittersweet end that fans made to cope but for this one its actually.. real😭😭 like shits canon. it IS this happy.

OKAY LET ME GO OFF A BIT ACTUALLY LIKEE???????? RYUUNOSUKE IS ALIVE, HES AN ADULT HES OLDER THAN SHINPEI HES NOT JUST A MID SCHOOLER GHOST😭😭♥️ hes married to nagomu's friend and haine is his kid. that kinda blew me off. okay not kinda it blew me off by a LOT lkke what the FUCK but im glad she got her happy end, i mean, thats all she ever wanted. the island kids teasing shinpei and the same lines making me remember previous eps were cool too. alan and cop dude are happy. the oldies were hanging out tgt, being happy. sou confessing to mio. that shinushio beach scene, them playing around with the shadows fucked me upp and ofc, that firework ending. them remembering their promise as kids, ushio's head on shin's chest and shin resting his head lightly on top of ushio oh my fuck i want that shit SO BAD.

aside me feeling super off, bc it Reaaally does feel to good to be true, that was a great end. great work to everyone who worked on this, god im gonna miss it so much.

One of the best anime I've ever seen. The ending was good. The characters were pretty decent. Nevertheless, USHIO is the magnificent one. Her personality is splendid. The way she talks, the way she behaves, and her childishness are incredible for real

Hooray for happy endings. That was so beautiful and it was so satisfying to see everyone happy and alive. The amount of pain they had to go through to get a world like this without shadows, absolutely worth it. Of course, with the shadows seemingly not existing to begin with, everyone that died by their hands would be alive in a world without them. Seeing Hizuru and Ryuunosuke alive is fucking wonderful and of course, I guess we could say, Haine's reincarnation. Ryuunosuke and Haine made a promise that they'd become friends, they'd become father and daughter instead.

It's super nice to see a conclusive show/adaptation like this, that's not super long, but not really short either, just the right amount.

This is the power of takoyaki, really was a beautiful scene and moment, I assume they got their memories back.

If there's one thing I am not satisfied about... I need even more epilogue of them just being happy lmao. Overall, definitely one of the best anime of the year. 9.5/10

Everything turned back to normal. Like, everything.

That whale was never there so no shadow sickness. As a result, all death related to the Shadows never took place. Shinpei's parents are around, Nezu-san and his wife are well, Karikiri-san ages, Ryuunosuke and Asako are married and Haine is one of their daughters now. And most importantly, Ushio is alive. Honestly, the way Ushio changes history feels like an asspull, but I can get behind that. I guess the one thing we don't know is Mio's answer to Sou's confession. An anime deserving a rating of 9/10. Amazing ride for the past 6 months.

Unlocked True Ending.

So indeed, every thing that was affected by the shadow, is back to normal. People who died because of the shadows are alive. Ryuunusuke named his daughter Haine, I wonder who's the mother. \("▔□▔)/\("▔□▔)/ Hizuru naming his next novel Summertime Rendering based on Shinpei's dream, which are actually his loop experiences. (゚д゚;) Umineko meta vibes.

Finally, Ushio and Shinpei reunited. (♥ω♥*) reading steiner activated, remembering the promised takoyaki by Shinpei from episode 10. Love the fireworks shot as they lean their heads to each other. б(>ε<)∂

I enjoyed the wild ride, though not so much with this being too happy ending. I'm gonna miss this series. I wonder if they'll adapt the spinoff. ٩(^ᴗ^)۶

Shinpei and Ushio on the beach, the first time, was a pretty nice scene.

All-in-all, it was a happy ending. My main gripe is that, basically, all the events of the entire series are forgotten and so all that character development is essentially wasted. Nothing that happened really mattered. So, it just felt like a little bit of an unsatisfying conclusion. Either way, I'll probably check out the manga at some point.

Did you watch the entire episode ??..Shinpei and Ushio remember all the memories of the previous loops when they recalled the Takayoki promise in the last scene--from LOOP 4.. it jolted back their memories. Thus Ushio says aftershock, "Welcome back"...and Shinpei calmly accepts her after all the confusion he had about the dream which now was clear to him that it wasn't a dream but it happened in the loops

God that both beach scenes with Shinpei and Ushio had me in tears.

Kind of sad they don’t remember the other timelines events but they fought for this timeline so it doesn’t matter in the end.

BY FAR this has been one of the greatest 25 weeks of anime I’ve experienced. Truly gonna miss watching new episodes every Thursday night.

Great story. Great characters. Underrated soundtrack. And incredible suspense. Solid 9/10 anime.

So long Summertime Rendering 🫡🥲

You are wrong there. In the last scene after the Takoyaki promise, they remembered from LOOP 4 at the last scene, -Shinpei and Ushio remember and regain their memories of previous loops clearly. It became clear to them that it was not a dream but it happened in reality. That was obvious in the last scene....rewatch it

This is the first anime I've seen in a while that makes me go "yeah, this is a true 10/10." The story and twists keep you on the edge each episode, and you really never know what's coming next.

In this final episode. I had to do so many double takes though because of how normal everything was lol.

Ah, that must've been it. You know what happened? I turned the episode on and then I just walked away. I'm so stupid. Thanks for pointing that out. Maybe next time I'll remember to watch? Who knows? It's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma.

In all seriousness, I know that's what they were going for with that "I'm home," scene. I just wanted it fleshed out some more.

Ushio and shinpei were able to remember what happened because they were the only ones who transcended into different timelines with hiruko's eye. But it make sense that the other ones cannot recollect anything because they don't have the ability, just like how they needed ushio to give them the information back then.

Even so, I just wish they all remembered. I just wanted some more collective acknowledgement of overcoming such a significant threat and affirming hope for the future. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Will not lie.. but the anime started out extremely strong and the animation/artwork was good
Even tho the animation got hit bad in between but it was passable..

The plot went waaaay too ambitious for its own good with a lot of unwanted action scenes, explanation of things that no one wanted yet not explaining the things that were happening..
The ending had waaay to many asspulls to make it a [i]good conclusion[/b] imo.. atleast to the fight..

The ending is happy ending tho.. rendering all the deaths of people in the summer useless..

was 9/10 before the last 2 episodes but now its 7.5/10 or 8/10..

The fact that at least Shinpei doesnt clearly remember what he went through and why this is the happiest ending he could get is the only thing that stops me from giving it a 10/10.

Shiori-chan was born anyway even tho her father is a completely different man. Maybe all of her genes were from her mother anyway. Lol.

So, if they entirely undid that the Shadows ever existed, wouldn't there have been way more of a butterfly effect over the roughly 300 years which they had existed? Like, it seems that little changed other than very recent events relevant to our main cast? Well, what should I expect? This show was blatantly, utterly hellbent on the 100% happy ending no matter what, even if it means rendering a good 95% of the show entirely moot. And that's after making me sit through a cour of well-animated but utterly nonsensical shounen fight scenes and generic-as-hell developments.

The first half of this show was a solid 8/10 with an excellent mystery build-up and general atmosphere, but this second half completely ditched that to become a mediocre battle shounen and is a 4/10 on its own. So that's a 6/10 overall.

Beautiful Epilogue!!
We have reach the Happy Timeline.

I knew it, because the Shadow Whale is erased therefore everything that affected by Shadow was gone.

Finally we got the obligatory "Normal" Hanabi Episode.
This put a big smile on my face.

I'm so happy they remember in the end.
*Reading Steiner kicking in lol

Amazing Story, Great Characters, The Art was beautiful, Animation was Top Tier, OST was really good, Banger OP and ED.
Also the VA was so damn good, everyone did an fantastic job.
Props to Ushio VA "Anna Nagase" 10/10 performance 👏

Thanks also for OLM Studio, for every staff members that put their heart into this Anime.

What an absolutely Amazing Journey this was, 25 weeks of Greatness!!

I don't know why we have got these crybabies here who are shitting & badmouthing about the ending cause in my opinion it was very heart warming ending

Probably one of my most favourite endings ever after FruBa & FMAB &

The story and everything was peak but it lack something which could make me hype about it, so it falls in the same category as 86 for me, an anime which is flawless most of the time but definitely lack something which would have made me attached to it

Though I will kinda miss it and especially Ushio & overall this journey was memorable and I am thankful that I watched it

A solid 9/10 in my anime journey book

From 10/10 to 9/10 ... I hated the final fight.
Going to the realm of shadows was so random, and suddenly Ushio was able to go to the past and change it ...

Still I wouldn't say it was so bad ..

Ep.24; 19:18

Sir you forgot to give your full attention, Ushio didn't go back in time to past by her own will, it was the black shadow haine who took them, Ushio herself said it just before she went close to the whale to erase it, she said "Even if I erase her(the black shadow haine) nothing will change, that's why she(black shadow haine) brought us back in time, in past to deal with the situation from the root cause(the whale)", did you even watch it my guy ?
