Nah, you're right, it's definitely demonic level incest x)
But then again, Shide is as messed up in the head as his own mother x)

Damn what the fuck, well since Shidehiko child which later the memory gets replaced by Shidehiko itself, does it count as incest? Plus it is probably confirmed that any of Shidehiko children will always be a son and also always will be the perfect copy of himself, right? Because if Shidehiko have a daughter how would he repeat the process, lmao. Also i'm still confused about Karakiri part, mind explaining it to me? Is it really true Karakiri is just another clone of Shidehiko?

It will be explained later the delirium of the 2 karakiri.
It's deliberate that it's unclear so that you can think about it.

... I am so lost. LOL! My mind is fked with these names. So, let me get this straight... The one in the photo is Dr. Hishigata's grandfather who is a clone of Hishigata Shidehiko. The original Hishigata Shidehiko impregnated Haine and claimed her surname 'Karikiri', thus the name Karikiri Masahito. The Karikiri and Hishigata eventually split apart-- the Karikiris became servants of gods while the Hishigatas became families of doctors. So, are there two of the same guy each time? One is Hishigata and one is Shidehiko? Or is it just on the Hishigata's side that's doing the cloning only? MY HEADDDDDD T___T!

Nah, it's easier

- Hishigata Shidehiko and the ancestor of the sou (and tokiko) family were brothers.

- Shidehiko meets Haine and decides to make a child with her. He founded the karakiri branch.

- Shidehiko injects his memories in his child (who is a perfect clone of him physically because Haine can only reproduce the data of the father).

- From generation to generation Shidehiko reincarnates in his own descendants to remain immortal.

- The grandfather of the descendants of sou and tokiko took a picture with one of the descendants of the original shidehiko

- The photo with hate shows the shide of the series as a child next to his dead "father" and his "mother" Haine .

As soon as Ushio got stabbed, she projected something (probably off to Shinpei) and tried to say "Notice..." something.

My guess is that she either birthed a Shadow and tried to tell Shinpei to "Notice" an item on him (a watch, a shellfish..) that would transform into herself later on; or she projected her own data to some item and needs another Shadow (Mio ?) to replicate her and "birth" her again.

Other than that, to those who watched the "Daddy" subs, you're the real ones <3
Personally I think it has something to do with his eye. Remember his eye is technically Ushio, (Or the shadow that became Ushio), we can see it bleeding, but it's still intact which should mean Ushio is still alive.
Also, the gun that shinpei uses is a projection by Ushio and that should disappear with Ushio's death

Origin Story time!

No way!!
Shide is Karakiri?
i called it on Episode 15... god damn i'm so happy my prediction was right.

Shinpei loop back in the forest without Ushio, holy shit!!

Ushio did something before her death, probably send her data into Shinpei body?
just like what Ryuunosuke Data did fuse in Hizuru body? i guess...

One thing I don't understand about this episode is Shide. Are there multiple copies of him? Was it the same person? Or was it a different person? Did Ushio just kill Shide's shadow? Or was it one of Haine's children? That's what's confusing me the most.

After episode 15, the animation quality is still not consistent. It seems that every time they deliver a well-animated episode, the animators struggle to maintain the same quality.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Because it saves money to be able to animate the numerous action scenes that will take place in the next episodes.

And there will be some that could sometimes come close to DBZ style fighting towards the end for the fights between the shadows.

We still have several scenes of the same accabis that episode 15 has animated according to my reading of the manga

Well fuck.

First of all, I felt there was a huge info dump in the first half and the pacing felt too fast for me to even absorb or understand anything properly, either that or my brain is not working properly today.

The getting reborn part was quite..IDK interesting.

The reaction face of Shide and Shinpie tho, goddamn.

Ushio got baited and killed. RIP. Seriously though that scene was just, oh man I was sitting with my mouth wide open unable to belive what just happened. There's no going back now. I didn't even imagine that Ushio will be killed even before the climax or final battle, I have no idea what Shinpie is gonna do without Ushio, poor dude, the death is gonna hit him harder this time.

But maybe this incident could be trigger for him to be able to utilize his eye's power completely.

Excellent episode. And the best thing is how unpredictable this is. I have no idea what's going to happen next or how Shinpie is going to save everyone or if that's even possible now. Shide seems literally impossible to kill now especially without shadow Ushio.

The next few episodes are going to be greater, I can feel it.

what lmfao? What does that ahve to do with the use of "sus"? Are you out of the loop of what sus is from?
i'm guessing u watched meme subs. in meme subs last episode too in mio and shadow mio scene, mio calls shadow mio "oi cunt!" and of course that's not what she really said lmao.

Yeah my head was spinning after this episode. Some questions answered and some new ones made. Is Ushio really done for this time? How are there 2 Shides?? Can there be more? We have shadow Mio, I wonder if she can bring back Ushio or swap or something? Lastly, I wonder what the team will do now, hope Shinpei doesn't lose focus with Ushio possibly permanently gone.

they actually did think that Shide might have a "copy" but they did not think that the "copy" could not be sensed by Ushio. That's also the reason why Ushio came out and killed Shide (the one without the burned mark)... because she could not "sense" the other Shide (the one with the burned mark) so in her perspective, it is safe and that's the only chance to kill the guy (while he is not being the four-armed shadow)

Man, late to the thread! Kind of a bummer because I honestly dunno when this comes out anymore. But anyways, onto my thoughts for the ep:

So Shinpei is saying these shadows are an alien life form from space that survived by consuming life forms as a meteor and then later as marine life before becoming the whale? It tracks with how we saw Heine get taken by “Heine”. Poor kid… that was terrifying seeing her get eaten like that.

But damn dude I did not think Karikiri was going to be the big bastard himself or that the Hishigata’s and Karikiri’s were once one family. That story about Heine and Shidehiko was pretty disturbing. Like bro, that’s some pedo shit right there. So that line is Shide’s family and the doc’s family came from the pedo’s brother, and the pedo copied himself into his baby? How does he keep regenerating? Just making more babies with Heine and copying himself into the kid? Is that what that hybrid creep is doing?

Shinpei should have blown his head clean off after what he said about his parents. Ushio had to step in and take the sonofabitch’s head off. But I knew that shit was gonna be a trap. The big bastard isn’t gonna be taken down that easily. Now Ushio is gone for good and Shinpei’s been impaled and sent back without her. It was hard to watch Ushio die like that. Gah! This is frustrating, man. Shide’s right next to Bondrewd on my list of anime characters that need to get curb stomped. This fucker needs to get got already.

Next week is gonna be a tough episode. Shinpei does have many loops left right? I really dunno how the team’s gonna bounce back from this big defeat.

Yeah, Karikiri being Shide immediately became apparent to me when they first visited him last episode, and the reveal here was pretty awesome, paired with the lore about how shadows are aliens (lol, get yourself tinfoil hats) and Haine became who she is now as well as Karikiri/Shide, man that was very cool, I loved all the freaky expressions too, very well done.

It’s a shame to see Shinpei reset once again, and without Ushio this time, but honestly maybe it’s for the best? At least giving how Ushio is clearly losing it with how she was so eager to kill Karikiri and what she said last episode that was out of character, but she was a very useful ally and it hurts to see her bite the dust like that. I’m sure that’s not the last we see of her tho. And I liked not only the direct reference to FF7, but also how Karikiri kinda exposed himself giving how Shide has made comparisons to video games before. And I’ll say things have been moving kinda fast but I’ve really been enjoying this for sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong
Karikiri is from 1732 and he fucked alien Haine(that's some pedo shit even if it isn't)
And the child born copied his... well everything
Shide(or Karikiri whatever you call him) is a hybrid of Haine and original Karikiri
We got to see 2 Shides this ep both without hand burn, so that means there are more of the hybrid MFs and Ushio's dead

Basically Shinpei had a lead but fucked up big time

Pretty dumb, why would you risk getting Ushio potentially getting killed in this "Plan"? I'm pretty sure Shinpei already knows the consequence if she gets killed and potentially not loop with him. She can copy herself why didn't she use it? I do hope that she did, cuz this was pretty stupid idea considering you are literally running out of time and you didn't even think once what would happen if something goes wrong and she dies.. It just takes me out of the show sometimes how they didn't even "think" of such scenario for a moment.

1. Shinpei had a good/great plan if they fully guessed the extent of Shide's powers. After all, Suo's father described it as if only one Shide per generation was around. Everybody was outside ready to ambush if things went wrong.

2. Karikiri was able to bait Ushio into coming out and leaving herself vulnerable. I doubt her killing him like that was part of the plan, and she always was a hothead.

3. Ushio is only able to do the dummy trick if she can see it coming, which she didn't. A dummy isn't exactly useful otherwise.

So all in all, they had a good plan, but some miscalculations plus good thinking by the villains is what caused this.

People IRL don't always take the best plan of action because their emotions get the better of them. People aren't robots, and it's a lot harder to come up with a good plan of action in the moment when the pressure is on than it is when you can watch something with detachment.

It was mostly Ushio coming along was the dumb part. I was mostly criticizing Ushio coming inside with him, you have to understand that the risk is too high for her to come and you are literally running out of time and chances. NOT a single mention of it by Shinpei or the others during the plan/scene, like c'mon are they really ignoring what might happen if things got worst and she gets involved? What happened to plan A,B,C?? Like I said before I'm pretty sure Shinpei already knows the outcome if she dies and he loops, and the fact that it was never brought up by Shinpei or the others is a dumb moment especially when you have a few or a couple of chances left taking a big risk with her coming along in such a crucial moment.

Plan a is Shinpei.
Plan b is Ushio backup as his watch.
Plan c is Nezu, Hizuru, and Tokiko waiting just outside.

There were a lot of backups, and you want your biggest guns close to you. Ushio in watch form was very safe.

With these plans in place:
If they had discerned Karikiri's true nature his plan wouldn't have worked.
If Shinpei had a few more minutes to digest why Karikiri didn't have a burn on his hand Karikiri's plan wouldn't have worked.
If Ushio wasn't provoked and had stayed in watch form Karikiri's plan wouldn't have worked.
If Shinpei was more coolheaded Karikiri's plan wouldn't have worked.

Karikiri's plan required a lot of things to go right, but he correctly deduced his opponent's weaknesses and lack of information and made the right plays. I'd give him accolades if he wasn't such a bastard. This win, I give to the villains being smart.

"There were a lot of backups" and yet they didn't have any for the Ushio who was the most important person aside from Shinpei?? That was pretty dumb for them to not even think a second what would happen to her if something goes wrong and not having any plan for her..

Again Ushio "dying" could all have been avoided if she was outside instead of with him and yet they let her go with him without even having a backup or plans of what might happen if something goes wrong for her...

"Karikiri's plan required a lot of things to go right" Yes you are right and that includes Shinpei and his friends being dumb enough to bring Ushio along with him.

As I said, if she had stayed in watch form, she would have been safe. And the plan took that into account. But I guess you're just not going to let this go. So let's just agree to disagree.

This chapter was a total madness that even brought me tears of euphoria.
I always thought why the priest who lasted so many years nobody realized that he was the same.
Perhaps the only logic would be that those people who realized it killed them before it came to light or because people thought that the "son" of the priest is very identical to his "father"

They only comfirmed who Karikiri is and that Shide is invinceable.

Karikiri 2/Shide simply walked through the door UNOTICED! and easily killed Ushio...
Shinpei didn't pay attention in that situation at all.

Did they really expect that they could kill Shide in a 2 vs 1 situation?
Nezu, Hizuru, and Tokiko did nothing before Shinpei was send flying.

No problem for Shide at all, anyway.
