bro wtf...........

The comedy when Yukimura presenting was actually stupid. Like if they wanted to go the dark route, they really shouldn't have had the fucking projector, and Yukimura should have instead had the character moment with Kanade while or after escaping the place, and those dudes should have gotten beat up or actual acid dumped on them. The actual kidnapping stuff was a complete tonal whiplash and felt like it was out of a completely different show. I would have been more fine than I am right now if it actually had kept the dark tone throughout the kidnapping and had Yukimura or Kanade beat the dudes up and run away, instead of presenting and playing it off for comedy.

6/10 for me: This show would have been like an 7 or 8/10, but this episode kinda ruined it for me, and I feel I am less likely to recommend in to someone new, which sucks.

All I want is more Kousuke x Ibarada
i’m with you, I would’ve given it an 8 but instead gave it a 6 because of that episode. I almost gave it a 4 I was so annoyed because it just didn’t fit the overall vibe of the show. I’m trying to remember if a show that was a romcom went totally dark in a final episode like that. That might’ve been the first time I’ve seen that.

Yeah this really went off the rails. I really like this show in general, but this Kanade arc (mainly the conclusion) definitely brings it down a point.

Like a power point presentation to buy time during a kidnapping and attempted rape? Idk guys... Could you just like have the dude be a creep but back off after Kanade ground slams him? Not some actual scum human? We can still do the presentation! It's not that hard to write. Kanade feels sad and shit over what happened. They show her the presentation to cheer her up. Super wholesome good vibes. Like bruh.

Went from a solid 7.5 to a 4 in one single episode. Good job ruining everything, ep 12. Unnecessary stupid ass backstory, unnecessary violence and sexual assaults, unnecessary love triangle.

WTF WAS THAT????!!!!!!!!

I feel like I was the victim of a bait and switch between S1 and S2. I hesitated to watch this episode after the warning, but how could I not, it's the season finale, then it proceeded to be far worse than I already thought it would be. Like seriously, WTF???!!!!

This was one of my fav romcom anime, but no more. They ruined the whole series for me with this Kanade trash arc. And now they're turning it into a harem???!!!! I CAN'T.

Love Yukimura and Himuro, as well as Kosuke and Ena. I wish they had just stayed focused on those relationships/characters.

I was planning to read the manga, but now I'm done with this. Huge disappointment.

The drama in this season feels really forced, not a big fan. I feel a bit let down since I kinda liked the first season alot even though the drama in the first season also felt a bit forced it wasn't that big of a deal because it got resolved quite easily. I would give this a 5/10 but the comedy parts that were also in the first season were still here so I'm still going to give this a 6/10.

That was... brutal for this anime standards. I got really worried for what would happen. Fortunately, everything turned out just fine for Kotonoha, she could tell her true feelings out loud. I just wanted to see those guys be beaten so bad, but well... couldn't expect much from Yukimura's xD

I liked overall, it had lots of heat. I just want a good ending for Kotonoha, and a lighter finale in s3. That was surprising :)

idk this missed the mark for me, I just don't buy Kanade being that obsessed with the whole "being normal" thing and that scarred that she just remained totally oblivious to her situation for that long, and broke down that late (of course, breaking down in that situation in general is, I imagine, fairly normal). didn't feel believable enough, and it took me out. but looks like if they get renewed they'll hop back onto the good content train

Absolutely atrocious. I said last episode I'd be disappointed if they invalidated Kanade's internal conflict by having the guy be bad, and then they took it nine or ten notches beyond that. It's not like I ever had particularly high expectations from this show, but a dumb comedy is a dumb comedy. You can't suddenly decide to be gritty and serious, and you can't go right back to the comedy without whiplash. Ugh.

What a terrible way to end a great season.

They wanted to make it more dramatic so they go with kidnapping and r@pists which was a bad choice in itself. Then we get to see Kanade opening their heart to them and Yukimura pulling out a projector and giving them a lesson on genes while there is literally a dead guy on the floor. And sure they start beating him up after 5 minutes but then he manages to get back up somehow only to pull out "chemical" bottles (which somehow didn't break when they kicked him around like a potato sack) which makes them terrified after they were ready for him to pull out a gun...

I know this show was never too realistic with this kind of stuff but if you are going to change the vibe of the anime and try to make it serious then you have to change your writing too.

At least the ending scene was good but it's not enough to redeem the rest of the episode

I will leave aside the question of the relativization of normality, which is not a scientific field, but a philosophical one, after all, normality is the safe field of true science. So, I only will delight myself in this little story of a knight saving a precious maiden!

yea was not feeling this whole Kanade arc…she was totally annoying this season which brought this season down by a whole margin. her role as the “straight man” was actually good last season
(note: now i/we sound like those people that expects her to be normal lol)
also the tones of this episode and the end of last week really felt out of nowhere for a series like this despite the flags being planted from the beginning. like there is nothing humorous about situations such as that. so much better ways to go about it than pulling the kidnap/r@pe cards

Kosuke and Ena carried this season imo

Ill be honest, I felt this season was somewhat an improvement of last season but it was like a 5.8-6.1 for me honestly. I just lost interest in the show for like 4 weeks and felt unmotivated about it. Only reason I gained momentum to watch it was that i heard about this garbage ending which was so fuckin ridiculous.
This ep made me bump my score down to a 4/10. As someone said, its okay if they wanted to go down the route of assault to be more serious but for them just to pull off a humorous moment in the midst of it all like that was kinda jarring.
I did like the OP and ED animations and thought some of the science math stuff was alright but yea, this ep really took this show down.

episode 12 came completely out of nowhere...

i enjoyed the new perspective of this season but wish that there could have been more of the actual couples instead of the "i'm not normal" subplot. i really wanted to see more of kosuke and ena!

ep. 12 really kind of ruined my enjoyment of the series based on how it decided to wrap things up. i felt terrible for kanade the entire time watching and had to fast forward at some points because i couldn't get myself to fully watch this time around (i am glad she threw psycho boy over her shoulder though--he deserves that and much, much more). the episode's conclusion wasn't great, either; i get what they were going for with yukimura's diversion, but it was so off topic after seeing kanade be assaulted that my brain couldn't really handle it.

i'm sort of disappointed, and i'm sad that i am--i really enjoyed the good parts of this series and i loved both seasons' openings and endings! i understand trying to wrap up subplots in a final episode, but i just can't get behind this one.

Jesus Christ, this was bad...it was absolutely distressing to watch, and then it was absolutely tone deaf to try and inject comedy in the middle. I like Kanade, and I think her arc had good potential for development up to this point, but this was such an out-of-place conclusion for it that it kinda ruins everything. I would love to have never seen this episode.

I’m pretty fond of this series and was excited for this new season, I was even really enjoying the early episodes. The dry humour, the science facts, and the romance between the comically dense characters was an easy and nice watch to unwind at the end of the week. After the halfway point though, the plot points became super hit or miss and stuff seemed forced especially the last 2-3 episodes. I really enjoyed the first season and liked most of this season but the ending just kind of made me cringe. If it gets a 3rd season I hope this love triangle they’re proposing get’s resolved and tossed to the wayside asap so that the relationships go back to a more one on one mutual romance and the show focuses more on the dry wit and doesn’t slowly go down some weird harem route like it is almost looking like it might. I think it would be much more rewarding to see Kanade find someone that likes her for who she really is and have Yukimura go back to the role of a close supportive friend. I haven’t read the source material so I’m not sure how the plot moves forward but if it goes the harem route it might turn into background noise while I do laundry to rather than a show I actually enjoy watching

This is probably the worst final episode of anime i ever watch. A rape scene? in a slice-of-life romance comedy anime? WTF? and the fact that the main character makes a stupid presentation in the middle of the conflict and no one questions it, like seriously this anime is a joke, the story of NTR Hentai makes a lot more sense than this.

As I'm sitting here trying to de-tense, I'm thinking about how it might've been done better...hit similar beats without totally breaking the tone of the show and making me just generally feel bad about having watched it...

I think a better way this ep could have gone would be to have Kanade turn the dude down, then the dude freaks out a bit and gets grabby, she flips him, he gets up and goes to grab her again...and then you have Yukimura step in to "rescue" her...and he tells her to stop apologizing to this guy who's trying to attack her, and then dude starts beating up Yukimura...so then Kanade finally steps up and beats the psycho up...police show up & arrest him, but Yukimura ends up in the hospital...and when he finally wakes up, both Kanade and Himuro are there watching over him...and the first thing he does is his presentation on why Kanade's brand of non-normal is fine. Then you could have close to the same scene with Kanade hurting him while asking him why he's like this, and still wrap up with the "let's make it harem-esque" ending.

I think that'd be way less out of left field, but still keep a bit more seriousness, as well as being more in line with what we've seen for Kanade up til now and letting her just be a stronger character...

Holy shit what an intense episode. That guy turned out to be psycho along with his friends. Yukimura is MVP here, it was great when he lied about toxic substances and those weaklings ran away. What's the funniest is that the show is becoming kind of a harem judging by the ending. Nonetheless, I had a fun time while watching it and I cross my fingers for season 3.

What the fuck with this hot garbage last episode. We got so many unnecessary things that I don't wanna talk about.

Kanade arc is really awful and should have ended with just 1 or 2 episodes and moved on to focus another thing, instead, they drag this SHIT show forever to the end and worse, end with such an abysmal.

We got rapist psychopath and sexual assault group out of nowhere in this SUPPOSEDLY comedy show and then of course Yukimura rushed to save her as usual but PLS. WHAT THE FUCK with that Cringe explanation from HIM !! Seriously !! do writer's mind turn to a Retrard !!

They turn this shit to dark tone mood out of sudden and then, oh Hello let's try some comedy while we at it, jesus the pacing is really out of place and it's really painful to watch.

This anime should've ended at episode 6 like they were meant to, not stretch thing out until it become hot garbage shit like this

6/10 No- I don't even wanna joke about 6/10 score. Just 0/10 from me.

I watch this anime cause I think It’s gonna be adult relationship. Not high school love but once Kanade fall in love with Yukimura this anime go down hill. I mean it not make sense at all for Kanade to love him. She is the one who see her senpai who love each other and try to prove it. And they already tell they like each other and she know it. She know how much Himuro love Yukimura and also give her advice. But for her to start to like Yukimura suddenly and tell Himuro who nice to her and help with her project. 🤷‍♀️ That not how moral person do it,love take time, not like you suddenly find out he’s cool, I want to go out with the person who my bestie love. Let me in your research to prove my love with Yukimura and kiss him too. WHAT THE HECK. Why make Kanade that kind of HOME WRECKING Character. Bring back my nice little sister Kande!!! 😡

It would be fine if they just ended it with Kanade finally getting over the idea of being normal, I could have even accepted the exaggeted way they chose to help her overcome the trauma. But her sudden love for Yukimura wasn't necessary at all. I don't like love triangles and the science type pair seemed solid enough even if they pretend not to know for sure so Kanade is definitely unwelcomed in that romantic dynamic.
It would be better for Kanade to just focus on herself and discovering that not everything has to be normal for her to have a fulfilling life. Maybe even her going berserk with style or behaviour could be fun, like buying all the "blue backpacks" she refused herself before.

Wtf did I just watched? Damn that's so bad for a final episode. Everything was a mess like from a wholesome show to a violence one? Also, how is it possible that you are a total helpless when being violated by the strangers but suddenly was able to throw your colleague even when tied? If you could do that, then why don't do it as well with the perpetrators? Man, that was an awful concept. With the littlest likeability I have for this series, and making the finale like this, Idk anymore. It leaves a bad taste.

Kanade was atrocious throughout the series with her normal and bullshit crap and it kinda ruined the final episodes. I would love to see the 3rd season but literally with less Kanade. In fact, give us the wholesomeness of Himuro & Yukimura. My fondness would be on Ibarada & Yosuke, I hope they will also get attention if it gets another season.

WHAT THE HELL????? bro i saw that warning at the beginning and just,, what?????? this chill show about a bunch of people in a lab doing experiments and stuff turned into,, this???

i have never been so flabbergasted in my life. i have never been so disturbed in my life. i feel like i am at a complete loss for words. the whole thing felt ridiculous. this is really the route the mangaka went? was all this just for kanade and yukimura to make up? because it really feels like the managaka wrote a ridiculous over the top and out-of-place damsel-in-distress scene to have the 2 of them make up.

yukimura walking in and setting up a projector and presenting his research was the icing on the cake. kanade is tied up and about to be sexually assaulted and he waltzes in like some macho man - not to save her initially, but to present his research findings to a bunch of thugs who could take yukimura out with one kick & then just freely assault kanade.

this ending surpasses the idiocy of both wep's and tpn s2's endings. going from a sexual assault scene to playing the happy funky op to being back in the lab like nothing even happened. i dont think kanade needed to being sexually assaulted to prove that shikijou is an absolute lunatic.

Because she liked things others didn’t and knew self defence somehow makes her not normal ? …..ok

As someone who can relate with Kanade, I understand what the author wanted to convey.

What is normal? What makes you a "normal"? Shikijou might look like a normal guy at first but ironically the way he confessed to Kanade was definitely not "normal". Throughout the series we can see he somehow was weird and obsessed with "normal".
When I see the thugs were roaming the festival, I sensed that something bad will happen.

As a series which tries to prove everything with data, it stays true to the last episode.

I'm just sad there's not much development between the otaku and the loli.

First off did not expect the guy to be a psycho, you usually see red flags for his type of people. A complete 180 in my opinion to what little we knew of his character.

Yukimura did not deserve to get thrown. Legit thought he was pulled the projector and starting explaining science as a distraction so Kanade, could untie her self. Honestly just completely caught off guard by how serious this episode got.

Oh and do not like the forced love triangle at the end there. Also Himuro seems way to chill to know that Kanade "loves" Yukimura. Girl he just became your boyfriend, I thought you were the jealous type.

Didn't hate Kanade's normal arc, thought it was fine. The ending though feels completely left field in order for Kanade to not look like a bad guy for dating a guy she didn't really like.

This episode was like watching a totally different, horrible and generic anime...
I hate scenes related to r@pe, and I always avoid anime with this content. This is a romantic comedy, what the hell is the author thinking when writing this? Seriously, it was extremely unnecessary.
Also, a love triangle? No... Disappointing.
5/10, this is because, I love Torasuke and Ibarada's relationship more than HimuroxYukimura. The development of Torasuke and Ena was the only thing that kept me watching this season.
