What's your first romance anime? Still remember?

Toradora, I think. I imagine it still holds up to some extent, but at the time I watched it, I wasn't aware of any of the tropes of the genre, so everything came across as fresh to me. If I'd seen it later, I don't know what I would have thought of it.

probably I'd still like Taiga a lot, I regret to report that I definitely have a thing for messy tsunderes with serious parental issues. but it also gave me a fairly high standard for male romantic leads, lol. Ryuji's a good boy, ideal househusband material. Which is why the show kind of doesn't feel too tipped towards being wish fulfillment. I guess that also sets up for me a fairly high expectation for a romance that it will be more balanced. Minorin's failure also prepared me adequately for the freight train of pain in Oregairu s3.

I actually got into anime by watching Lovely Complex.I can say that it's still relevant and can be enjoyed even to this day even if the animation is a little old.

Of course I still remember since my first romance anime is also the first anime I ever watched. It's Mermaid Melody ^_^

I think Yukino was better for Hachiman, but that's Hachiman's problem, lol. Yui deserves EVEN BETTER than him. she deserves the world, dammit.

My first romance anime was Bloom Into You and it is great. The anime and manga are amazing but I really wish that a second season would be made for the show.

Do you know any other shows like it that have good characters who are not just defined by the romance? I also don’t like unnecessary drama like a lot of shows have.

I’ve actually already seen that one and read part of the manga. It’s very good and I wish that the whole manga was adapted into an anime. I have also seen Adachi to Shimamura which is okay but very slow in my opinion. Do you know any other anime like them?

I'm pretty sure my first romance anime was Whisper of the Heart. I watched it with my mom when I was in high school. I think it's what really reeled me in to the romance anime genre.

The Original Fruits basket. It was one of the first series, Anime or otherwise, I completed in its entirety. It was so long ago I can't really even remember when specifically I saw it. Maybe late 7th Grade? All I can remember is there is the dude who turns into a rat and the other guy that proves his hair color is natural by showing the teacher his pubes.

Please Teacher. One of my earliest anime and one of the few i binge watched all in one night. I love it but i dislike it too. My relationship with the series is weird.

Since I'm not counting Boku no Pico and Elfen Lied's love related subplots take a back seat to the dismemberment, School Days is the first romance show I've watched as far as I'm concerned.

My first romance manga was Full Moon Wo Sagashite. I was in fourth grade and not interested in romance manga at all but the cover of the first volume, namely the enormous, lavishly detailed sparkly eyes on Mitsuki, mesmerized me and I had to read it. I swear the eyes Tanemura used to draw told stories of their own.

My first romance anime was Ouran High School Host Club, although I wasn't really interested in the romance so much as wanting an anime that was "Azumanga Daioh but hot guys", and stuff like Hetalia or Boueibu didn't exist yet.

Mine was the Ghibli movie Whisper of the Heart -- I'd defs recommend! It's so cute and the characters have really good chemistry.
