Does the MC stay stupid for the entire story or what? He lands in the past and then has to confirm that he made it by looking at his phone even tho the situation he’s in does imply that he did go back to the past. And the situation in question is a fight like bruh wake up. Then because of that he just gets the shit kicked out of him the rest of the episode which turned into pure excess at midpoint with the baseball bat. I understand he’s 14 years old but he spent days studying with the detective but then after calling himself a slave he just straight up asks the higher up of the group to meet the leaders hahaha. I dont want to dislike this but this episode felt like karma when you act stupid around the wrong crowd.

The anime is still decent, but the MC is a legitimate idiot.

Dude, he doesnt know that this is anime. As far as he knows he could be going crazy.

I like how takemichi has balls to say that to kiyomasa that he want to meet the boss the manji gang saki and Naoto is the key for the time loop.
I like the OP so good!
We see in the end takemichi save his mate and want to fight against kiyomasa ,i look forward to see his character development

Compared to last week, I liked the first episode better because this one felt really slow paced. I'm not the biggest fan of the art style, but I think I'm getting used to it. Hope the pacing picks up a little next week.

I'm surprised though that Takemichi didn't get knocked out right there and then when he challenged the punk king. I guess we're in for some good fist fight next week.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Really good and solid episode! Well, we kind of know now how he time travels, but there's definitely still more to it than that. ED is a banger, visuals were sad though.

Man, Hina is so precious , it's a shame Takemichi ran away back then but it was understandable I guess. But now, he has the chance to make things right. I think he can put up a good fight and beat some ass with the right mindset, if he stops thinking of always running away, which he just did at the end of the episode, so let's fucking go. That rotating shot was awesome. Looking forward to the next episode.

Im the only one who thinks the plot was stupid as fuck? So Naoto knew his sister is gonna die that day but he let her go to a festival or something?intead of protecting her in a safe place? And he discovered that mc can go back in time by handshaking him? Like how? And the plan to save her was dumb as fuck anyway!
Btw i heard a minor spoiler that
but at this point in the story they dont know that so the plan doesn't make any sense just telling hina or naoto to take care is the best option!

Dude, he doesnt know that this is anime. As far as he knows he could be going crazy.
Uh? He literally spent days studying the gang with the brother, shook his hand, traveled back in time, realized he went back in time, opened his cellphone in the middle of a fight to confirm that he did in fact travel back in time, and then because of his stupidity got his ass beat for 12 straight minutes of run time. Not to mention those are all events that he actually lived in the past.

He went back in time thinking his life was flashing right infront of him. He woke being all confused about what happened. Sure. Nao said that he travelled back in time and the fact that Nao was alive was proof. But like its not like he is just going to accept that. He was still sceptical. What convinced him a bit more was Nao's resolve. Like I said. As far as he knew he could still be going crazy. My reaction to something like that would probably be similar. Because you know....time travel ain't something that happens to you everyday. Then he went back in time and now he started believing that he is a time leaper for real. Of course he was bit disoriented and got his ass beat. He wasn't expecting to get thrown into a fistfight. After that he had to meet Mikey or Kisaki. And his only connection to them were these dudes which he sort of worked for. Knowing that they are a part of Mikey's gang he naively asked them if he could meet one of them not knowing how serious his request was. Sure. Dumb decision but these guys were his one and only connection to Mikey and Kisaki. It's not like this gang is ruling Tokyo. In the past they are just a small group of delinquents. If I had to sum it up. He aint the dumbest but also not the smartest. But he sure as hell is really confused.

The explanations are as rushed as this in the manga as well, or is it an anime problem? Not that I'm expecting a full dive-in in time travel concepts, but it was just sloppy. They've just assumed everything and turned out all right lol.

Leaving that aside, it was a good ep. I'm just beginning to realize I might not enjoy the theme of gangs and delinquents that much. But everything seems fine from development perspectives, I guess (tho I may not be that interested in the story due to the "recap" ep I've watched before the show started. That was a terrible idea).

It didn't hit me up yet, but I plan to watch the whole series either way.

I am still a bit underwhelmed so far, but at least things are going in an interesting direction. I have no idea how Tachibana keeps forgetting pretty noteworthy events that happened in middle school or why he is so shocked when he leaps back after trying to do it again. I’m looking forward to him growing as a character because he is pretty frustrating right now.

All his actions only made thigs worse. He's like 26 but has the replies/thought process of a 14-year-old. It's obvious you can't get there by strength alone. Unless he trains that is.
Actually, I have no idea why he just doesn't tell his gf like he told the kid that she will die and needs to move. If he is from the future he knows future events, even if she doesn't believe he just needs to tell her 2 or 3 events so she believes him.

His objective is to stop her murder, not stop a whole gang anyway.

Or, if they are persistent for some specific plot-related reason, just win a lottery since he can go to the past. Then use the money to hire pro military-grade bodyguards. He can even order them to kidnap her one day before she gets killed so they won't know where she is.

Or, after his past self after wins the lottery, he can hire people to beat the crap out of the delinquents if he prefers to deal with it in the past. Though if the group consists of a lot of expert people he might need to spend more money to get his team ready and will probably need more mercenary-type people. Bodyguards would probably decline attacking as that is not legal.

My opinion is that the show is decent, but a bit mediocre until now.

Either they make the MC way smarter or way stronger. If they go by smarts they can make him avoid things by being crafty even if he has to get into a couple of fights in the process. If they go by muscle he can keep getting stronger and getting near his objective in a more shonen way.

The main character can be so dense at times. Get a grip already. At least he was very brave at the end of the episode but I don't know he needs to plan ahead better. Especially when he's supposed to know what is going to happen already since it's the past and how he studied with the little brother. Little bro should be the one going to the past he seems very smart. :p

NGL this shit about time leap doesn't feel right at all, but at least the anime seems interesting thanks to the gangs. Takemichi knows He has to do smth big to change his future, challenging his boss was unexpected and amazing. This kid has a good pair down there.

The fake is of far greater value. In its deliberate attempt to be real, it's more real than the real thing.

Okay quick question. I always read mangas and watch animes about bullying. from simple bullying to the over the top bullying. Its just, I want to know, the roles of parents, teachers, and society regarding this bullying. most of them are like non-existence at all. is this the real situation in real life at Japan? or authors just don't bother to include them, as factors that help making the bullying more dark. parents especially, do they blind or what, seeing how their child beaten up like that, never give their concern at all. teachers too, wtf sometimes they straight up bullying in school compound, did they even do their job properly? and most important thing, why none of this bullied people report this to the police? in my place the bullies will straight up in juvenile center should the bullying escalated like this. in my high school days, the police just nabbed all the schools bullies, and they either get school suspension or worse, expulsion, with their record forever hunt them in another schools, and corporation. they forever mark as ex-con, and never will get any change as government servant.

So... how long will it take until Takemichi stop being a pathetic punching bag? Him protecting his bro Takuya was brave and all but challenging meathead Kiyomasa to a fight is basically a death warrant at this point.
Anyways, guess Sano or Kisaki will show up next episode to "save/help" MC because I honestly can't see a way for him to make it out of that fight alive.

i mean i don't think calling this episode slow paced is really it. i think that just too much stuff happened in ep 1 which is normal since it's the first episode it needs to introduce the characters and the plot etc..

I am not a big fan of time travelling shows. For me, most of them are not able to explain time travel correctly nor are able to keep coherence on later episodes. Actually, I think only Steins Gate manage to be excellent in those points.

I have to give Tokyo Revengers credit, it is coherent the trigger for the time travel. Naoto saved Takemichi of the train by shaking hands with him (I have a theory that was Naoto that pushed him out the train platform on the first place, but it doesn't matter).

But, ignoring time travelling, the show is pretty good. Takemichi's relationships are really well developed: both friendships and romance.
